DAVE'S CLEAN SWEEP CHIMNEY AND GUTTER

We first hired Dave over a decade ago to clean our chimney. He came very well prepared and, other than making us feel bad about a dead bird, he performed an exceptional service with outstanding cleanup. In recent years, Dave and his crew have called and arrived every year to perform a gutter cleanout. Our house is 2 stories with a walkout basement and sloped yard, so getting to the roof can be a little tricky and disconcerting. Dave performs this work efficiently, is friendly to our kids (often playfully spraying them from the roof), and will perform services when we are not home, providing us a bill later. A couple of years ago, Dave noted that one of our drainage tiles was clogged. We were able to call a plumber to fix the issue, which resulted in correcting a minor but difficult to resolve basement moisture issue. We were grateful for Dave's observation and attention to detail in this case.

Great. I use Dave every year and he always does a great job. He gets up on the roof with a hose and makes sure all the downspouts are clear too.

Very well. Gutter work required more time and effort than anticipated, and Dave took the time necessary. Downspout repair proved problematic; Dave came up with a creative and ingenious solution which is effective. Also, he pointed out chimney flashing problems of which I was aware and had hired someone, who never showed up. Dave returned another day and did the necessary repairs and checked the entire chimney. The word was most satisfactory; the cost, reasonable.

Did a good job, left no mess

Dave was wonderful. We completed all of our transactions by phone, so I never needed to actually be at the house as our conversations were taking place. Dave immediately cleaned my overflowing gutter to alleviate that problem even before I had agreed to use his services. We talked about various gutter guards and replacement gutter systems, but Dave was honest and sensitive to my budget concerns. He readily agreed that cleaning all the gutters thoroughly, re-pitching the most problematic gutter, removing some excess caulk that was impeding the flow of water into a downspout, and following up with regular semi-annual cleanings would be just as effective, if not more so, than investing in a new, costly gutter guard or system. Dave is polite and responded promptly to my calls. His work has been effective. During our recent heavy rains, I did not have any problems with water overflowing the gutters. Dave left the yard and flower beds clean, with no trace of any debris removed from the gutters. I plan to have Dave return for periodic gutter cleanings, I would use his other services based on this experience, and I would recommend him to others without reservation.

Dave McKernan came to the house on the date he promised and let us know he was setting up. His team cleaned the entire roof of plant debris and emptied gutters into a large bucket to keep the siding and ground clean. After cleaning the gutters, the gutters were flushed with water. Since we had just moved in, our inspector suggested the chimney cap needed attention. Dave screwed down the top pan and secured loose siding around the chimney.

Dave is a professional. I know when I call him, he will show up on time. He is courteous and explains what he is going to do. I feel confident that the job will be done right every time.

Dave calls us every year as a reminder, comes over at our convenience and does his job thoroughly and is very clean.

I've been using Dave for several years to clean our gutters.  He gets up on our second story roof and does a very thorough job for a fair price.  I plan to continue to use him every year.

We had a couple of urgent calls with blocked gutters.  Dave came out immediately and on one occasion, worked after the sun had set.

I called Dave for a quote to clean the gutters for our condominium association. He asked if there were any problems at the moment and we did have one. He came out that same afternoon to see the condos to get information for the quote and he worked on the problem area. The man is professional and he knows his trade. We have some serious gutter maintenance to do (which our previous provider obviously was NOT doing) and I'm looking forward to receiving the quote. Three members of our Board are willing to skip getting the "other two quotes" and go with this gentleman if the quote is reasonable.

Dave brought with him his own ladders and more impressive a lack of fear of walking around on my roof to reach my gutters. He did a thorough job and entertained my special request to remove the debris instead of blasting it down the gutter to the storm sewer. This required Dave to remove the neck from the guttering. He did so with a smile and did not hesitate to oblige. Dave cleaned up his mess afterwards. He was also very careful without me asking to not mar my newly finished all-cedar deck. He is a true professional and a gentleman. He appreciated the ice water I served him afterwards. I reccomend Dave for any gutter cleaning job they have, or any other service he would offer to perform. His number is programmed in my cell phone now!

Dave responded to my call immediately and came out within two days of my call and repaired a clogged gutter. He went over and beyond the call of duty by taking the gutter apart to clean it instead of spraying water down the gutter to clean it out. He also climbed like a cat over my roof to remove some dead wasp nests. I would recommend Dave any time. Great price & perfect service.

Dave is reliable and thorough.

I had moved from an apartment into a house with a fireplace. Before using it, I wanted to make sure it was cleaned and inspected to avoid any fire hazards. I looked in the phone book and found Dave's ad, so I called and made an appointment for him to perform the work. That was in 2003 and he called me in November of 2005 to remind me it was time for another cleaning and inspection. I have found him to be very thorough and pleasant to deal with. In my opinion he does go above and beyond just the minimal and I have contracted him to also flush my gutters and install gutter guards when the weather permits. I wouldn't think of contacting anyone else to do the work.
