"Thank you for your review. We enjoyed working with you!"
"Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to work with you!"
"While we are very sorry that this customer felt misinformed, the fact is the customer received and paid for what was verbally agreed to between the sales person and customer. During the selling process, the sales person spoke with both the husband and wife in the company showroom and explained that in order to be cost effective and give them the most value for their money, she priced their project with cabinets that were a combination of all plywood construction and particle board. The face frames are hard wood, the doors are all wood and every end exposed was upgraded to plywood. The drawer boxes are solid wood with soft close, full access hardware and the doors have a soft close feature as well. The only portion of their cabinets that would be particle board would be the untouched parts of the cabinets: the back, top, bottom and shelving. It was shared with them if they wanted all plywood construction it would cost them approx. $400 more. They were already at their investment limit and did not want to spend any more money. The sales person assured them that the majority of the time we sell this product as a combination of plywood construction and particle board and this is how it was presented to the customer. They did not want to increase the costs of their cabinets. Regarding the damaged product, we can only explain that we took action on each and every request in a timely business-like fashion as is evident in the many e-mails we exchanged. Several of their cabinets were upgraded to all plywood (two of them upgraded free of charge) when replaced. The resolution we offered this client was a full refund of the cabinets."

UPDATE September 2011- One of the things I specifically asked was that when they hand the drywall they apply construction adhesive to the studs and joists to help prevent screw pops. I suspected they had not done so, so I asked and was emphatically assured that yes indeed Bill had used construction adhesive as I had specified, and that in fact Mike had been there when the drywall was hung and watched them do so. Oddly, we started seeing screw pops very shortly after the drywall was finished, reinforcing my doubts. Well, 6 years later we are remodelling the bathroom above the kitchen and had to remove some of the drywall to expose the soil stack so it could be replaced. Low and behold, not only was there NO construction adhesive, but they used as few screws as possible to hang the drywall, maybe one ever 16 to 18 inches which is not acceptable practice by any standard. Needless to say, Mike obviously lied directly to me on top of the subpar work.
