We closed on our house on 03/30/2018. On April 4th our AC unit was stolen. Progressive refused to cover the claim because we had not moved in 4 days after closing. This is legal, but not moral. The clause in the policy is intended to keep people from insuring a house they do not intend to live in from insuring it as if they do live there. It was not meant for situations where you close and simply have not had time to move in yet. WARNING, FLOW DOES NOT PAY!!! AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!

I recently had some issues with Progressive while trying to figure out why my rates went up and why I was being billed a certain way. No one could seem to answer my questions even though they always seemed to respond promptly, and to be fair, they were pretty complex questions. I'll admit after a while that I was getting pretty upset with them, which probably didn't make it any easier. I finally asked a manager for the number of someone very high up in the company, and he gave me the number, which I assumed was just a gratuitous gesture meant to appease angry customers that didn't really lead to anyone important. Well, I did get someone very important, and right away, and he treated me exactly how anyone would want to be treated in a customer service capacity...very professional, kind, understanding, knowledgeable....all class. After he initially responded to my email and asked for my phone number,  I sent it to him a few hours later and he called back within 2 minutes!! Honestly, one of the best customer service situations I've ever experienced. I look back now and wish I would've been nicer and more patient when dealing with the junior customer service reps. Honestly never expected anything like this to happen. Very pleased!!

I’ve always had good experiences with them. They’re very professional and responsive. They sent an adjuster to look under the other person's car once an expensive claim was made. They found that the part was hanging off by a clothes hanger and they threatened that driver with the police.

One of our cars was recently in an accident, and they have always been very competent, very speedy in making a judgement, and following up with it, so we like progressive car insurance very much. We went to their office yesterday to pick up a check for a car that was totaled. It was taken care of within 2 and half weeks. We had 2 cars insured with them, and recently when I had the occasion to contact them, the employee told me ways that I could lower my monthly cost, and I didn't know about that.

I was skeptical of an insurance company that handles everything by phone or on the internet . Then I had a car wreck. I called progressive and reported the accident and they towed my car to an auto body shop that they recommended at their expense ( it was 50 miles away) and had the car inspected . They totaled the car and paid me for it within 24hours. Everything was handled with courtesy and efficiency. I'll be a Progressive customer for life.

Went great. They were very professional and took care of everything. When it was discovered about 3 months after the repair that something was missed, the agent went to the repair shop and covered the repair as part of the original claim. I was very impressed, they have earned a customer for life!

I've had auto insurance with Progressive (direct, not through an agent) for years because they've never given me a reason to leave. The price has consistently been competitive, especially after enrolling in their Snapshot program, which I would recommend if you're a good driver and drive low miles during the day.
I love Progressive's website for regular policy servicing. You can do anything you can do anything you want: change driver, vehicles, and coverages; make payments; submit claims; etc. You can do all of those things over the phone, too. I also like that I can opt to do everything paperlessly.
Now, the true measure of an insurance company is claim servicing, and I've luckily never had to submit one, so I can't speak to their customer service on that front. However, everything I've heard says that they're extremely prompt, whatever that's worth.

The biggest problem involved Progressive's desire to and quot;totaland quot; her vehicle, offer a low ball value to pay out her claim and keep the salvage of her vehicle because most of its parts were undamaged could be re-sold for a large part of the cost of the claim. She was the victim in the accident but you would never have guessed Progressive Insurance was her carrier as well. As soon as the Progressive adjustor made the low ball offer to total her vehicle, she wanted to immediately take away the rental car provided under the policy. We had to turn in the rental car before we were able to secure a replacement vehicle. The adjustor was antogonistic and completely unsympathetic to our situation. We cancelled our insurance with them the following month.

I am an emrald customer which is the highest standing that you can have.  I have been using progressive for 13 years and have never had a ticket or gotten into a crash.  My car was damaged and I had a claim. They did not repair the vehicle, the shop they had me take the car to damaged the vehicle.  They also allowed the shop to take out a wire for one of my high neon visability brake lights without repairing it.  This is a rare light and is very hard to find a replacement for.  The original repairs that I took my car in for was not done correctly.  They said they would write me a check so I could hire someone else to fix the car.  6 times over the last 13 years my car has been damaged while my car was in the shop for a claim.  This is a chronic issue and I think that since I have such rare cars the shop has been stealing parts out of my car whenever I would take it in.  So far I have spent 49 days on a minor claim and this still hasn't resolved.  They are in collusion with the shop to damage my safe driving record by returning my car without a breaklight.  I may get a ticket or worse an accident that would alter my safe driving record.

Applying online is a breeze. They are affordable, courteous, and professional. I pay less than 20 per month to insure my 2000 Corolla.

I've had one claim two years ago, and it could not have been easier. They really take everything off your plate. Someone even called to follow up to make sure we were happy. Well, we are.

The local office here of Progressive Insurance is really, really good. I've tried other companies, but I keep coming back to them. I've had three cars completely totaled in the last six years and they always made sure that everything was taken care of. They gave me the best for what I paid for. I have no qualms dealing with them. Even when I had my accident and things went bad because I didn't have medical coverage, they explained to me what they could and couldn't do. They've been great. They also told me who I could contact to get more help. I feel like I'm getting the better deal from them then they get from me.

They have been very easy to work with and everything is done online. The one claim I did have on my car they did very well with. Home owner's insurance is not specifically their product; they contract with someone else for that. The one thing I have noticed is that their cost is creeping upward; my home owner's insurance took a big jump and I was not real happy with the reason. I am thinking about looking for someone else for that portion of my insurance. However, the auto insurance is competitive. They did a good job on responsiveness when I had my car claim.

They are very convenient to use.  I haven't checked around lately for auto insurance.  The last time I checked, they had a good deal for us but I haven't checked lately.  I feel like we haven't really used them because we haven't had an accident. They replaced a bumper section, and gave me a rental. They did a really good job. We also used them in Vegas when our car was stolen. They gave us a check for it. They work quickly too. There are no hassles. I think the office was perfect. We had insurance agents before, but no one did as well as they did. As far as the way they treated me, they couldn't have done better.

I have had a claim that has been going on for a few months.  They have denied my claim even though I believe it to be reasonable.  The price is fair, however I will probably not continue to use Progressive due to the problems trying to get the repairs necessary for my boats.

If you are concerned about glass repairs, I wouldn't use them if you are in the state of Massachusetts. I had read that the state had a no mandatory deductible on glass for any company selling insurance here but that's only if they are based in Massachusetts. The Progressive Corp does not have to adhere to this law because they are not based in Massachusetts. They do business here but that stipulation by the state is governed by where their head office. This is my understanding and the only discrepancy that I have ever had. My premiums are reasonably priced. I have had a windshield claim but that was my misunderstanding about the deductible but they went above and beyond to replace the exact factory glass in the car. I will continue to use them and recommend them too.
