Dennis came out at end of September to bid job. He said the Amber crew should get to the job with in 2 weeks. After no calls and no show by end of October I called and was told "before Thanksgiving". Again, no calls, no show. I called Thanksgiving week and was told "will try for next week". No call, no show. I made several calls and left messages for Dennis in December. No one called back. In January I re-bid the job and received a very responsive service and a better price! I called Amber Tree one more time to cancel. I will never call Amber Tree Service again and do not recommend it.
We selected Amber after getting bids from contractors on your list. They were great to work with, did a very good job and cleaned up everything.
estimates to cut down two very large old pine trees
that were planted very close to my new house, and one large old shrub,
that was also very close to the house. The trees were the white pine
variety, with the short needles, making for a mess all over the property
as well.
So as soon as I bought the house, I got several estimates, that ranged from $2,200 to $900 from Amber. A relative had used Amber
with good results, and so I asked them to come out and meet with me.
They have been around since 1985, and Dennis explained how they would
take down the trees using a crane, for safety. He assured me they were
fully insured, and licensed, and also had experience in Ottawa Hills,
and assured me there would be no problems with the Village.
On Saturday, they said they would be at my house Tuesday or Wednesday, and they actually came on Thursday, which was fine with me.
They cut all three trees neatly, and down to the ground, and took away the trees and branches.
Didn't ask for any payment until the following day, after the job was completed. AMBER apparently has no website, but good honest people who know what they are doing. Old fashioned, quality service.
