I had Allshouse replace the front expansion valve on my van's AC unit. The year prior they replaced
the compressor and it seemed to work for a month or two until the end of
Tthe summer/fall that we used it. The coming spring our van had no
cold air blowing from the AC. I took the van back and they said it
was an expansion valve. At the expense of $350 or so I Allshouse
replace it. After they were done it sort of blew cold air for a day. I took
it back and had them check it. They said it was fine but it was hot
outside (85 degrees) and my AC couldn't keep up with it. I brought
it back on a 77 degree day with the same problem of no cold air. I
left it with them for the day and they said they fixed it.
Meanwhile my wife (who they hadn't seen) went int to pick the van up and the
lady was complaining about me to another customer. She said ?how
demanding customers can be when they bring in old cars and expect us
to fix them. Our van was old and we expected the AC to work like
new.? After a couple of minutes she turned to my wife and asked
how she could help her. My wife stated she was there to pick up the
old van she was complaining about. She left with it but it never worked.
The next spring we took the van to V & S
and paid them about the same amount to replace the expansion valve we
had replaced the prior year at Allshouse. Today, two months after V
& S worked on our car the expansion valve is working like new. Something Allshouse could not do with 4 days of looking at the car.
