I had a Very Positive Experience with SCT Remodeling Company. They did a phenomenal job for us! They were recommended by our realtor. This is the second bathroom they remodeled for us. Both turned out beautifully.!! Todd, the owner was very friendly and accommodating. He made the process seamless! His pricing was very reasonable. The workers were prompt, polite and professional, and respectful of our home. We had a few delays with some of our materials not coming In as planned (Covid), Todd worked with us to coordinate his schedule. By all means, call SCT Remodeling Company! Not only did they meet the expectations set by a friend who had worked with him in the past, they also went above and beyond to exceed them. From the start through construction and follow-up, SCT demonstrated their professionalism, expertise, customer service, and true passion for their business. It is clear that their true purpose is to ensure their client’s complete satisfaction. I’m am so happy with my bathroom!

Todd is knowledgeable in general contracting. Very punctual and lets you know what is next and the time he would arrive. I purchased all the tile and Todd provided cement board, water proofing, and misc to install. Todd overall does a good job. I wish he would pay little more attention to detail of the his work. Bath looks great!

Oh jeez, I don't know where to start.  I wish I would have researched Sauter Tile a little before we signed a contract with him.  Based on Angie's List and BBB reviews, I would have not hired him.  At any rate, we were given him as a reco from the TIle Shop.  Todd provided us a very reasonable estimate and said our job was a 4-5 day job.  The job lasted almost 3 weeks!  The workmanship was not even average.  We had several tiles that were cracked, he used the wrong grout color (he was in doubt but instead of calling us, he called his buddy at the Tile Shop to confirm and was wrong).  The grout lines and cuts are uneven, the tile itself is uneven.  The countertop he installed fell apart a few times before he finally got it glued (still doesn't look very good).  The very expensive marble tile we purchased is all scratched up.  After the initial install, due to the issues with having the wrong grout color and the less than par workmanship, we only paid Todd $3500 for his work (I cannot recall the original amount quoted, I think it was $4000).  This was an agreed to amount by both parties.
In addition, a few months after the install, we started smelling a moldy smell.  We found a rather large crack in the grout that might have been allowing water to get in behind the tile in our shower.  Todd fixed the grout but I am still worried that there is water damage and mold behind the tile.  But the absolute worst part is that the shower pan ffexes (he used a Redi-Pan, which in hindsight was a BAD IDEA).  This causes the grout on the shower floor to come out.  Todd has been back to our house 2 times to "repair it".  The last time, he used an epoxy grout and he assured me that it would not come out. Well here we are, just out of our 1 year warranty (which i asked him to extend due to our issues and he said no) and the grout is coming out and it looks terrible.  To make matters worse, he informed me that there is really nothing else he can do since it was the plumber who installed the shower pan (mind you, HE hired the plumber not us).  He told us that the next option would be to cut a hole in our ceiling or wall to spray foam under the pan to keep it from flexing.  This is Todd's problem - he always seems to do jobs with about half effort.  If he would have done things right the first time (assuming he is capable of that, I am not so sure), we would not keep having these issues.  My husband told me that he really doesn't want him back in our house again because he is sure that Todd will not be able to fix our issues to our satisfaction and he is very sloppy (we had to replace the carpet in our master bedroom because he traipsed through our house with his snow laden work boots).  So now, after spending over $10,000 on our master bath remodel, I am left with a sub-par job that I will likely have to get fixed by another person in 1-2 years.

Todd did come out yesterday, 10/8, and took care of the items I was concerned about.  Two of them were not his fault, they were material issues, not labor, but he took care of those as well and offered good advice.  I do think that Todd is a qualified tile contractor and I think, overall, he did a decent job.  My advice to him would be to slow down and spend more time with each customer and get to know that customer a little better so he knows their expectations on the job.  Some customer's, like myself, are more picky than other's and like things done as requested and left as clean as possible at the end of each day.  Other's may not be as particular.  A successful contractor is the one that can figure out and listen to each customer and complete the job to their satisfaction.

I had two bathrooms that had vinyl flooring. I pulled out the vinyl and underlay and pulled the toilets so they could come in and just lay the tile, but I did not remove the baseboard. I got a quote over the phone. They showed up on time and got right to work.
They pulled the baseboard off (and replaced it when they were done) and undercut the molding so everything looks very clean. The tile is completely straight and even lines. Grout looks nice. When they were done there were a couple little gaps in the grout. I had provided all the materials but they had used up all the grout. When I told Todd Sauter about the gaps he purchased a small container at no extra charge to me to finish it up and left it behind in case I ever need it for anything. It looks perfect.
All in all a very positive experience and I would definitely use them again.

Todd remodeled our bathroom over 2 years ago and we've had problems with leaks in and around the shower bench. He was out once and resealed it but the leak began again and we had mold. Although it's been past two years, he came out, ordered tile and redid the entire bench as well as the mold areas around the base of the shower. He was very professional about the problem and I commend him for taking care of the issue.

It went terrible. A job that should have taken two days max , took three weeks and still isn't right. I kept all the emails and papers on the work that was to be done and took pictures of before the job was started. Himself or crew tore up the old floor and in the process tore loose trim along the wall of the shower and didn't bother to fix it. He/they installed broken/cracked tiles with very sloppy grout lines and put the sink top on the cabinet crooked, and still to this day the sink doesn't sit flush along the wall and cant be without the plumbing being worked on again . The sink piping was installed such that water leaked onto some of my wife's things that were put back in the cabinet, which seems better after he came and adjusted something , after saying " I don't know why its like that" . He came back or had his guys come back a number of times to fix some of the problems and still cant seem to get it right. Finally he complained about a bad review , so I told him if he would like to come and fix the problems and get the walls plastered like agreed to in the first place, I would fix his review. Well guess what, he sent me an email and said the guy would be there on Saturday 9-7 to do the walls. So I replied and asked  , So your not coming along also, and he says No I'm not . So in the end the walls are done but the sink is still all jacked up and I have damaged tile and damaged shower that I'll have to pay someone else to fix.. He did send an email asking how the walls are now lol. What a joke. This company will never step foot back in my house. I wouldn't let him tile a dog house. Big time disappointment. Live and learn. Only hire people after checking on them through Angie's List. 12-9-2013 Update. Apparently the tiles weren't installed on a level floor as a number of them are cracking/breaking. These are/were nice new Marble Tiles. Marble Tiles don't just break all by themselves without something being done wrong during installation or they were installed broken and we are just starting to take notice of the cracks, Rah ! ! !
Response from SCT Remodeling

"The tile was installed and homeowner was told that the tile was not to be stepped on for 24 hours, I came back the next day to find all the tiles shifted around. I questioned him on this and he said his daughter walked on it to get some items out of the bathroom, enough said!!!"

The job was completed in the quoted amount of time and at the quoted cost. I admit to being a bit of a perfectionist, but there were some small corners cut that resulted in a little sloppiness with the final product (caulking a little messy).
During the project it was determined our existing glass door would no longer work. Todd used his supplier to replace our glass door with a brand new one at no cost to us. This was VERY helpful and nice of him and his glass vendor to do.
Most importantly, our problem was solved, so we were satisfied with the job done.

He ruined the tile, installed poorly, and installed the tub on an angle so that the water poured onto the floor.  We had to hire another company to tear it all out and replace everything.  It was a very bad experience, and he was clearly incapable of performing the work.  It was poor tile installation quality.  Fortunately, we found someone wonderful who was able to do a perfect job.

Todd was very quick to respond and schedule a time to do the work. I was surprised that all that he needed to do was to caulk the cracks - I thought the grouting needed to be replaced (I'm not sure I would have hired someone to just do the caulking!). However, Todd came to see what needed to be done, went to Home Depot himself to get the supplies he needed then returned and completed the work. He matched the color well and did a fairly neat, but I wouldn't say perfect job. He was very pleasant.

During the installation my experience was not bad. However, the shower pan has started to leak only 5 years after installation. Another company told me the cause was improper installation.

We remodeled our living room and wanted to dress up our fireplace with new tile. We purchased the tile, mortar, and grout from Lowe's after meeting with Todd to discuss the project. The work was completed in a timely manner over three days (to allow for setting), and all employees were courteous and tidy. Todd was able to create exactly what we had in mind, and we are very pleased with the results.

We had arranged with Todd, who had done good work for us in the past, to install new tile in two bathrooms in conjunction with a contractor who was installing new cabinets, countertops and faucets in both bathrooms. The schedule was arranged so that Todd would have all of the tile work done in four days. However, on the first day he was there he told us that he could only stay two days. Because of prior commitments by our other contractor and our and Todd's vacations, the two days Todd canceled could not be rescheduled for nearly three months. Todd also does cabinet installation and we ended up using him to do that in the first bathroom so we could get the one bathroom finished.
Response from SCT Remodeling

"THE TRUTH IN THE SCHEDULING WAS THE OTHER CONTRACTOR WAS INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT AND COULD NOT FULFILL HIS DATE. I WORKED WITH THE HOMEOWNER TO DO ALL OF THE WORK THAT HE WAS SUPPOSED TO DO BUT I HAD NOT PLANNED ON THAT MUCH WORK TO DO SO IT TOOK LONGER. I NORMALLY DONT INSTALL CABINETRY BUT I MADE AN EXCEPTION SO THAT AT LEAST ONE OF THE BATHROOMS WAS FINISHED FOR THE HOMEOWNERS."

THIS WAS PROBABLY ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES AND TURNOUT IMAGINABLE. TODD SAUTER AND HIS CREW WERE EXTREMELY SLOPPY AND TREATED OUR HOME WITH LITTLE REGARD. THEY CAUSED DAMAGE TO OTHER AREAS OF OUR HOME AND BELONGINGS. THEY LEFT US WITH A HUGE MESS AND EXPENSE. THE ENTIRE JOB WAS DONE WRONG AND IS A DISASTER. NOT SURE IF THEY HAVE DONE THIS TYPE OF WORK BEFORE. WE NOW NEED TO HAVE A PROFESSIONAL REMOVE WHAT THE SAUTER PEOPLE DID AND START ALL OVER. THE RESPONSE FROM TODD SAUTER WAS TO ORIGINALLY REFUND A SMALL FRACTION OF THE MONEY, BUT FOR SOME REASON HE CHANGED HIS MIND. ALL AND ALL, WITH THE DAMAGE AND THE NEED TO DO OVER, I WOULD ESTIMATE THAT THIS WILL END UP COSTING IN EXCESS OF $20K.
