In addition, a few months after the install, we started smelling a moldy smell. We found a rather large crack in the grout that might have been allowing water to get in behind the tile in our shower. Todd fixed the grout but I am still worried that there is water damage and mold behind the tile. But the absolute worst part is that the shower pan ffexes (he used a Redi-Pan, which in hindsight was a BAD IDEA). This causes the grout on the shower floor to come out. Todd has been back to our house 2 times to "repair it". The last time, he used an epoxy grout and he assured me that it would not come out. Well here we are, just out of our 1 year warranty (which i asked him to extend due to our issues and he said no) and the grout is coming out and it looks terrible. To make matters worse, he informed me that there is really nothing else he can do since it was the plumber who installed the shower pan (mind you, HE hired the plumber not us). He told us that the next option would be to cut a hole in our ceiling or wall to spray foam under the pan to keep it from flexing. This is Todd's problem - he always seems to do jobs with about half effort. If he would have done things right the first time (assuming he is capable of that, I am not so sure), we would not keep having these issues. My husband told me that he really doesn't want him back in our house again because he is sure that Todd will not be able to fix our issues to our satisfaction and he is very sloppy (we had to replace the carpet in our master bedroom because he traipsed through our house with his snow laden work boots). So now, after spending over $10,000 on our master bath remodel, I am left with a sub-par job that I will likely have to get fixed by another person in 1-2 years.
They pulled the baseboard off (and replaced it when they were done) and undercut the molding so everything looks very clean. The tile is completely straight and even lines. Grout looks nice. When they were done there were a couple little gaps in the grout. I had provided all the materials but they had used up all the grout. When I told Todd Sauter about the gaps he purchased a small container at no extra charge to me to finish it up and left it behind in case I ever need it for anything. It looks perfect.
All in all a very positive experience and I would definitely use them again.
"Contact has been made with consumer and we are agreeing to correct her problems even though it is outside of our standard one year warranty."
"The tile was installed and homeowner was told that the tile was not to be stepped on for 24 hours, I came back the next day to find all the tiles shifted around. I questioned him on this and he said his daughter walked on it to get some items out of the bathroom, enough said!!!"
During the project it was determined our existing glass door would no longer work. Todd used his supplier to replace our glass door with a brand new one at no cost to us. This was VERY helpful and nice of him and his glass vendor to do.
Most importantly, our problem was solved, so we were satisfied with the job done.
"I did not install the tub!!!"
"Fixed their lawnmower, set a trap for a groundhog too."
"THE TRUTH IN THE SCHEDULING WAS THE OTHER CONTRACTOR WAS INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT AND COULD NOT FULFILL HIS DATE. I WORKED WITH THE HOMEOWNER TO DO ALL OF THE WORK THAT HE WAS SUPPOSED TO DO BUT I HAD NOT PLANNED ON THAT MUCH WORK TO DO SO IT TOOK LONGER. I NORMALLY DONT INSTALL CABINETRY BUT I MADE AN EXCEPTION SO THAT AT LEAST ONE OF THE BATHROOMS WAS FINISHED FOR THE HOMEOWNERS."
