Duvall Homes

The overall project went excellent with the exception of my not obtaining an updated building permit. But that is on me and not them. Only delayed the project two days.

Ron and his brother completed the job on time and within the estimated amount.
The door framing needed to be modified for the new door to fit and they did a great job working it out.
The door and window were caulked and insulated. The trim inside and out were painted very neatly. They did a good job cleaning up after themselves inside and out.
The door developed a squeek a week later and they came out the same day I called and adjusted the door. It is now quite.

We had used Duvall Homes 5 years ago to install Hardiboard siding on one side of our home. We were very impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. So when we decided to remodel our bathroom, we knew who to call. We wanted to move a wall to make more room, and we wanted to add a window to bring in more light. We moved the location of the shower, toilet and sinks. We wanted to do alot of our own work to save money where we could, so we did our own tear out and installed the cabinets and painted the walls. We hired a plummer to reroute pipes, and a tiler to tile the shower and floor. Duvall Homes helped with all the rest of heavier, more skilled work. They were knowledgable about all aspects of the remodel and professional and detailed with everything we asked them to do. They framed and built new walls, lining them up (perfectly) with the existing architecture. They worked with us over several days figuring out what type and size of window to install, and then framed, installed it and painted the exterior to match what existed already (perfectly). After the plummer was finished, they hung drywall in the whole bathroom and finished the walls ready for painting and tiling - it looks great!Duvall Homes always scheduled our work promptly and did their work very quickly and efficiently.

We started with some basic ideas and chalk lines on our basement floor. We ended up with a beautifully finished basement area, complete with built-in bookshelves, open staircase, drywall ceiling, recessed lighting and custom-cut doors for two areas under existing ductwork.
Working from our initial concept, Ron and Dennis Duvall showed us what would and wouldn't work with our ideas. Wherever something didn't make sense, they always came up with a better option. We've gotten so many positive comments and couldn't be happier with our new living space.
If you are looking for old-fashioned craftsmanship at a reasonable price, we would definitely recommend that you include them in your contractor selection process. They are punctual, keep you informed throughout, and do extraordinary work. Duvall Homes is at the top of our A-list and will be our first call for all of our future needs.

Dennis and Ron are extremely talented craftsmen who exhibit the highest quality of workmanship. They do not cut corners in any fashion and don't ask them to! They construct your project as if they are building for themselves. Their attention and thought to detail is unparalleled. This building had been vacant for several years and the last and quot;so calledand quot; improvements were in the 1980's. The project was a complete renovation from floor joists to sill plates, from brick walls to finished interior walls. They assisted in sub- contractor selection and floor plan design. They were extremely professional, worked thru winter conditions, arrived on time, picked up necessary materials as needed, oversaw sub-contractors work and protected the integrity of the jobsite. My goal was to maintain the historic dignity of thebuilding on the exterior and stairway areas, but add modern flair to the interior of the apartments. The endeavor was a success. One of my favorite aspects of the project was the interior stairway area. They removed all the paneling and crumbling plaster to reveal the original brick walls. Much of the original woodwork then had to be replaced. They meticulously cut and matched the new woodwork to the old and were able to maintain the period look of the window and door frames, staircase trim and moulding. Loved it! They went above and beyond in sealing up the attic/roof areas from weather and critters and vented and insulated the same. I cannot recommend anyone more highly.
