I have been extremely disappointed in the lead time needed for my furniture to arrive and lack of follow-up or communicate to me. Most pieces ordered were not customer but standard off the shelf items. The lead time provided was 8-12 weeks but there was hope that some would be in long before this timing. Most other vendors provided timing of 3-6 weeks and were able to get identical pieces in within this time period. I feel that DZin (AKA Rowe Furniture) does not have the purchasing power to have furniture delivered in a reasonable amount of time and would not recommend them to anyone. The designer was helpful and very knowledgeable but I would engage them but purchase elsewhere like goodhomefurnishings.com which include in home setup and delivery for FREE versus being charged like Dzin.
Description of Work: I had ordered 3 full rooms of furntiure and additional accessories for 2 other rooms which I used the Master Planning service.

When my couch was delivered, I spoke w/ Daniel Grubb, the owner, who said what I was describing -emply corners on cushions & slipping & sliding-did not sound right & he would take care of it. I said let's wait till it gets some use & the pillows may be OK. I subsequently called & he sent a sub contractor out, after the sales people gave us the impression that everything was handled in-house. In fairness to the sub, he just didn't see the incomplete fill. Afterwards I spoke with Mr Grubb again & reiterated what we had discussed in the first place: IE the cushions are not completely filled in the corners. I can deal with the constant need to rearrange the cushions because they slide and get pushed out and up, but the empty corners are not acceptable. He asked me to come back to the store to see how the floor sample is made. I did & it is not the same as ours. I suspect there is a different fill, but I was not given a choice at time of purchase. I called back & he finally came to look himself. His excuse was "that is the way the manufacturer (Rowe) made it". He left me a message that he could perhaps find some fill if I wanted to try put it in myself. I found it interesting that while I was a prospect everyone had a smile, but after the sale, things changed. FYI -during the course of making my descision I saw lamps I liked, but pointed out cracks in the bases. They seemed to appreciate that I showed them and the lamps would come off the floor. They were still there at regular price 6 mos later. I could have saved over $1200 buy buying from NC showroom, but they convinced me that they would be here to take care of any problems and I prefer giving my business to local entrepreneurs if I can. Dzin had the samples for me to choose, but I hired someone else for design help. My intent, had I bought in NC, was to pay a 10% "finder's fee" because they did have the samples & I wanted to be fair.

The custom sofa in question was $1199. I personally went to client's home to inspect and photographed concerns. The sofa was made exactly as the one on our showroom floor. The only difference was the customer had special ordered a different fabric. I sent the pictures to the manufacturer and they also determined it was made to the proper specs. We offered a few possible solutions all at no charge to the client, including to "modify" the filling to minimize her concerns. DZIN delivered exactly what the client ordered. After multiple trips and alot of effort I'm very sad to say, we were not able to make her happy.

The quality and selection of Rowe Show Place exceed most furniture stores. The size of the store is deceiving from the storefront. They have a large variety of sofas to examine and hundreds more available through catalogs. I also found Rowe had the best fabric selection. Ms. Humes was very professional, patient, and honest. Besides helping with the right fabric choice, she also gave assistance to the best paint color for the room where the furniture is to be placed. Unfortunately, not all of the sales staff were as responsive as Ms. Humes. A few of her colleagues were actually snippy and treated me as an annoyance instead of a sale. Ms. Humes made up for their lack of customer service skills. Excellent follow up by Ms. Humes.
