Mark also does handyman chores, so I talked to him about the disaster that was our master bath. He said "I won't know what I have to do until I get in there and start," which wasn't helpful. He based his fee on using two colors (in addition to ceiling white) but when I decided to only use one color, told my husband he had still used two colors and didn't lower the fee. I tried repeatedly to talk to him about this but he simply would not discuss it. We bought a new ceiling fan for him to put in but he put a cheaper one in, and then told us it was the one we bought. He didn't put the molding in the laundry room and then said he "hadn't had time" so we had to pay someone else to do it. There is a large stain on the driveway which he also denied knowing anything about. The place was left a dusty mess, one day before showing. After this report was posted, Mr. McKinney called me at home and told me I was a liar. He yelled at me and I felt so threatened that I told him to never call me again.

An example of Mark's strife for perfection was in the dining room and in the study. I wanted a specific color of paint which he needed to match and this took three different tries. He continued to try until I was pleased with the match and he was pleased. Also, we struggled a bit to find the right color of paint for the study speakers to match the wall paper. He continued to work with the different colors to get a very good match. Mark has experience in palettes and colors over the years which was a beneficial bonus for us.

Mark is just a joy to work with--he has been MORE than receptive to our schedule; worked around other contractors; cleans up and answers all questions; has helped with other projects while we were moving, [his sons helped lift a HUGE piece of furniture and helped remove other renovation debris]. They are all great to work with, friendly, professional, neat painters. He was recommended by Creative Paints and I would highly recommend him to anyone.
