Ohio Valley Spray Foam was contracted to apply poly urethane foam insulation to the concrete walls of my home's crawl space. The crawl space walls are 3-4 ft high and the perimeter length of the house is around 250 ft. The total area insulated was approximately 850 sq ft.
The estimator arrived as scheduled and the price quoted was reasonable. I had estimated the cost of materials to insulate the same area with rigid foam would be $1200-1400 and would have required two weekends to complete.
The crew arrived when scheduled and promptly got to work. The foam application was completed in less than 3 hrs. The odor of the material was only slightly noticeable in the house. Windows were left open for a few hours and by then the odor was gone.
The foam insulation was applied well and has strongly bonded to the concrete walls. The crew leader returned the following day and installed foam covers over the crawl space vents to create an air tight seal. (Note: When sealing up a crawl space it is necessary to install a vapor barrier on the ground and use a dehumidifier to control moisture - prevent mold)
The crew leader also mentioned to me that there was some water accumulation in the crawl space. There was a lot of rain in the early summer. Although I had not seen water build up before, it did not surprise me. I appreciated the warning and have since installed drainage to prevent water accumulation in the future.
I am pleased with the quality of materials and the job overall. The insulation was done as part of my effort to reduce energy use / cost. Closing in and insulating the crawl space has made the house more comfortable and efficient. I estimate the insulation cost will pay for itself in about 5 years.
Ohio Valley Spray Foam earned all A's from except for cost and responsiveness which earned B's. I think their pricing was fair, and I have no complaints, but it did not and quot;wowand quot; me. The B for responsiveness was given because I had to call several times to set up the estimate. Once the schedule was set, everything went well.
Overall I am happy with the work and would have Ohio Valley Spray Foam back to work if I had the need in the future.

He was super nice. He may have been one day late but it didn't bother me at all. It was just to give me an estimate. However, he was too high; we couldn't go with that price. He was here when he said he would be. I think he might have said this day or that day like Monday and Tuesday or Tuesday and Wednesday, and he didn't come the first day and he came the next day. He called to make sure that it was okay for him to come, so I appreciate that, instead of just showing up. When he was here, he was nice, respectful, and informative. He was very helpful in pointing out things that we needed done that I have seen. He was a super nice guy. He was very professional and didn't irritate me at all. Unfortunately, it was of high cost. I just wish I could afford him because I liked him.
