It was great, workers were always on time. Cleaned up each night when they left.
They were quite when they came and went and that is important to me since I work from home.
They added extras that was not in the original estimate and did not charge me. Kept to the original estimate.

We’ve had a work crew from Before and After Remodeling at our home for the last month. They’re
re-siding and painting our house in addition to replacing a dozen windows, which is a particular challenge since we have
a 42-foot-tall birdwatching tower attached. We had entertained a bid from a
local painting contractor that stopped our hearts—and that was just for
painting the high section of the tower. He made a big deal about the height,
said he’d have to bring in a cherry picker, and gave us a go-away price. Donny
and Jessica Beaumier looked at our tower, welcomed the challenge, and gave us a
much more reasonable estimate, so we gladly engaged them. We were so used to being
put off for months on end that we were very pleased when Jessica’s estimates
came in within a few days of our meetings. And to our delight, they started
work within a couple of weeks of signing our agreement. This is how it should
work, but (in our experience) rarely does with oversubscribed contractors.
In the course of work, the crew discovered a number of
things that needed attention. The back steps on our raised deck, torn off to
accommodate scaffolding, had to be completely rebuilt. Our front porch had
rotted and needed to be completely replaced with permanent plastic decking. A
gutter and downspout that were directed toward a low corner of our house,
giving us a wet basement, would be torn out, and the gutter re-routed and
ditched where it wouldn’t leak. A heavy copper awning mounted over our front
door by another contractor 14 years earlier was discovered never to have been
properly secured. It was dangling dangerously from three bolts instead of the
twelve it needed! Each new challenge was met head-on by Donny and foreman Craig,
who arrived at sane and sensible solutions for problems that had vexed us for
over a decade.
Every large project has its setbacks, and an inattentive
employee at Lowe’s ordered the wrong windows (double-paned when we’d ordered
single-paned). Lowe’s told us one date for delivery of replacement windows,
then reneged, drawing the process out for several weeks. Through it all, Donny
was both apologetic and forthcoming, passing along information as he received
it. He was more frustrated than we with the delays, as they affected the work
flow. Ideally, windows go in before siding and trim go on, but all that had to
be reversed, and everyone had to roll with the punch.
Before and After’s crew is made up of truly nice guys, who are respectful, quiet and considerate.
They’re kind to us, our kids, and our dog. They call me when they find a large
spider or snake that needs to be relocated or just admired. They did their best
not to obliterate my perennial gardens, though that’s tough when you’re placing
scaffolding. I enjoy their company and will miss them when they’re gone. They’re careful, but they’re also fast
workers. I took progress photos each morning, and was amazed at what they got
done each day. In addition to the much-needed repairs they made, our house now
looks absolutely stupendous with new Hardie board permanent siding, painted
barn red, with creamy yellow trim. It looks important; it looks brand new; it
makes our hearts sing as it stands out in the autumn landscape. We would not
hesitate to engage and recommend Before and After for any job, large or small. They
look out for their customers, fix what needs to be fixed, and get it done in a timely way. If and when we can
save enough, our dream is to send them through the house interior, starting
with our outdated bathrooms. For now, we’ll enjoy the grand and glorious
updated exterior, and just not let anybody come inside.

Great, Before and After should change their name to Above and Beyond. They went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. They took down old cameras/lines, filled holes and cleaned our windows. None of that was included in the bid. The group of guys working were very respectiful of the children and adults leaving the library. They were very careful to clean up at the end of the work day not like other companies we have had work at the library. I have already recommended them for other jobs.

I am in the restaurant business. That means among other things, that I work less than traditional hours. I was at first a little hesitant about having someone I only recently had met in my home to do work when I would not always be there. Because of my complicated schedule I wound up giving Donny a key to my house. I swear that my house was always cleaner after he and his men were there ! And I know that they took the garbage out for me one day ! They did a great job. My son wants to know when those nice men are coming back to do some more stuff around the house. Whatever remodeling work you need done around the house, these guys will do a fantastic job.

The crew arrived promptly on days that they were scheduled to be here. They were very considerate of our pets and property. After the initial project began my husband and I decided on several changes. Donny was very accommodating and re-estimated for us. Our first change was to the porch. We asked for hooks for a porch swing to be added and a doggie door to be placed in the wall. We also asked for the lower deck to be widened another four feet. They had already finished the lower deck and tore out and re-did to our specifications. Although the lower deck corners weren't mitered as the previous deck had been, the quality of the work was still very acceptable. As they neared completion of the project, we decided to add deck railing. Donny prepared an estimate for the labor and went with us to assist in purchasing all the proper pieces. The project began March 25, 2013 and was completed May 9, 2013. There were several days that weather was not permitting for them to work. When they were not going to be here, Donny would call to let us know. In all they spent 22 working days on the project. Some of those days were only 3-4 hours, but a lot was completed on those days. Donny was reachable at all hours and always followed via phone or email when we had questions. Overall, our experience with Before and After Remodeling was a good one. Donny is an honorable, humble man with a friendly, hard working crew who do excellent work. They under-promised and over-delivered. We plan to have them back to re-model our kitchen and one of our bathrooms in the near future.

These guys are hard workers, they showed up everyday (on time). Overall, their work is pretty good. They did an excellent job on the wiring, framing and flooring.
My only complaint in the process is that they are not very skilled at finish work (mud and trim). As a whole, the room looked pretty good when they wrapped up. We did a final walk-through and scheduled some touch-up work to be completed the next day.
They did come back for the touch-up, but I was not home and they didn't really fix the issues:
Dry wall mud had several areas with air bubbles. The corners we not properly tapped and mudded and there were large crevices and raised spots in them. The seems through each wall were still visible (only slightly) and there were numerous spots on the walls that needed touch up mud and/or sanding. The final issue on the drywall was the outlet cutouts. They were too large and the filler mud was not sanded smooth and in a couple of spots they just caulked around the outlet covers.
They trim was good except 2 vertical pieces around the doors were an inch short (raised from the floor) . . . I had asked them to replace these pieces, but they just filled the gaps with caulk.
Not trying to be mean in this review, but I did want to point out the couple areas of caution.

"At the time, I was not aware we were leaving the jobsite with a dissatisfied customer. Since the completion of this job, we have hired some team members who are excellent at trim work and drywall finishing. My sincerest apologies. I would like to fix these issues for you, free of charge, or perform a small service for you that you might need done, free of charge. I have made it my goal to not leave until the client is 100% satisfied, and I apparently did not do this with you. Please let me know what I can do."

They did an excellent job, and they are on Facebook too. They were here when they said they were going to be here. They started and finished at the time they said. They quality of their work was very good. Their price was very reasonable.
