Also, I completely agree with the other person that gave them a bad review on ice backup. These gutters seem to make the ice build up and ice d*** back up worse than a traditional gutter. The snow/ice freezes on top of the gutter, when the melting starts it does not drain into the gutters since the ice build up is so high, it drops down the gutter and forms very large icicles.
Customer service is not good. All they will say is they can not do anything. There only guarantee is that it will be leaf free, but if it doesn't function correctly - they will send you on your own.
Don't buy them.
"According to LeafGuard Northeast Ohio’s (“LeafGuard”) records, it installed a new LeafGuard gutter system in late 2003 for approximately $3,500. We have investigated the [member name removed] allegation that the LeafGuard gutter system that was installed nearly eleven years ago was installed incorrectly. Based on our investigation, we find no objective factual evidence to support [member name removed] allegation. Accordingly, we have to respectfully deny [member name removed] request that LeafGuard refund her $1,750 (approximately ½ of what she paid for a gutter system that she has used for nearly eleven years). When we investigated [member name removed] allegation, we found that the damage was confined to an 18’ section of the home. In this area, drip edge flashing was missing. This should have been put on by the roofer and not LeafGuard (i.e. it was not part of the contract). What was required by contract was for LeafGuard to install a LeafGuard gutter system on the whole home (175’). How can the damage restricted to this 18' section be attributed to Leafguard when the rest of the home does not have the problem? If the problem (fascia/soffit rot) was caused by an improper installation of the LeafGuard gutter system, would not the damage be throughout the home not just the 18’ were the roofer did not install drip edge flashing? Cleveland, like much of the northern United States experienced a harsh winter this past winter. [member name removed] alleges that the LeafGuard gutter system makes ice damming/icing situation(s) worse than “traditional gutters”. This is no scientific support for [member name removed] belief. There are numerous authorities explaining what caused ice dams/icing/icicles, and it has nothing to do with a particular gutter system. The primary cause of ice dams begins within the house and with heat escaping the home causing the snow to melt that ultimate re-freezes at the edge of the roof, causing the ice dams. Actually, this is pretty common knowledge in cold weather areas, like the Cleveland area. As an example, I refer your attention to the following videos on YouTube that also explains how ice dams are caused (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XH5-lu4FkEA & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4jW35I5abo). The materials referenced is just the tip of the iceberg regarding the information available (e.g. the science behind) the cause of ice dams. There are also plenty of newscasts this past winter in that have addressed the ice dam issue. The ice damming issue can occur with our without gutters or anytime regardless of the particular gutter system because it is not related to the gutter system. Typically, the problem lies within an individual’s’ home—i.e. heat escaping, in part, due to improper insulation and/or ventilation. No gutter can protect against the possibility of ice damming. Roofers all seem to have varying opinions of gutters; usually, they have their own pocket book in mind. Our customer service is the best in the industry, and we will continue to do all we can to assist our customers. While we strive for all of our customers to be 100% satisfied with our product, we know that it is not always possible. As such, we will not refund [member name removed] money for a fully functioning LeafGuard gutter system that she has had for over a decade. Accordingly, we consider this matter closed."
pay $1,500 more for less linear feet than I had installed. What you pay, evidently, is a function of how well you bargain with the salesman.
The installation was okay, though the installers left debris -- as well as some of their tools.
The system does indeed keep leaves out of the gutter.
However, it failed miserably with snow and ice. It does not drain well, when the roof is snow covered -- resulting in icicles all the way around the house.
I called to ask for some kind of repair re: the icicle buildup. I noted that, with my former system I did not have icicles -- plus, that the house next door with a competing Gutter Guard system has no icicles and ice buildup; nor does the house across the street with a LeafGuard system. The phone rep said he was sorry, but he couldn't do anything.
I then asked for instructions on requesting a refund -- since I live in NE Ohio, and snow/ice are the norm here. I would prefer to have the system I had before -- the gutters and guards that were installed when the house was new. The rep said he would take my request to the manager and would get back to me.
Obviously I am NOT satisfied with the system. Before, I had no icicles and ice buildup. Now, my gutters won't drain at all in snowy/icy weather.

Interviewed salesman on 10/24. Advised of available install date a few days later.
They measured on 11/1 and installed the whole product on 11/2.
All staff, from the salesman to the installers were professional, neat, efficient and swift.
Highly recommend.
