Description of Work: The village of Lexington caused a backup of sewage on a Sunday afternoon between the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday. They responded quickly and quoted the work and price. We accepted basic service because we could not confirm our insurance coverage. Three inches of sewage, they would remove basement contents, clean and disinfect all salvageable items and clear basement floor of all raw sewage. They tried to up-sell fans, dryers, and humidifyer but we were not in position till insurance coverage determined. Short story they did a pretty fair job. Next day they found out we had $10K coverage. Needless to say they insisted the initial $1,000 job ( which was also the same price as quoted and charged next door neighboor w/no insurance). Before we were done with the whole thing we approved another $500 in fans, and hauling. They then interjected themselves between the carpet vendor to do the installation and would not tell us what they estimate breakdown was for their installation and what the carpet cost after we had an estimate but the whole bill ended up getting juiced and the claim adjusted, carpet vendor and Richland walked away with $10K.....exactly to the penny! They kept us from recovering our losses in full and refused to recognize the original agreement despite having three witnesses to the contrary.....get your quote in writing, don't let them represent you as a contractor with other material providers and watch them closely when the money is going through the insurance company and claims adjustor.

+ 0 moreThis gentleman came to my house to do a estimate for a roof that was damaged from a tree falling onto it. He brought no ladder to get up there to inspect the damage. All he did was , stand on the ground, took measurements, and 2 photos.. How could he tell what damage was done. Had another company come out 2 days later and they climbed the roof, looked at the damage, took close up photos of the damage, tarped all the areas that was damaged and informed us that we needed a whole new roof. This company explained everything to us. He even called the adjuster for us and our insurance agent...
Description of Work: stood on ground and took photos and measurements.
