On Wednesday morning John called to say my installer would be arriving about 10 am. At 11:00 I got a call from installer that he was lost. I gave him directions and he eventually arrived at 11:30. He couldn't determine what was wrong with my roof, saying the flashing looked fine. He installed the dishwasher and faucet, but took 7 hours to complete with two trips to Lowes. I inspected the faucet before he left and found it leaked and a random part not installed was found on the floor. He asked if he could come back the next day to figure out what was wrong. He was supposed to take the broken dishwasher away for disposal, but didn't want to and suggested I leave it out for and quot;pickersand quot;. I insisted he take it. That evening I called John and told him I was unhappy with his installer. In addition to trying to leave me with a leaking faucet, he was very unprofessional in his demeanor, cracking jokes constantly when I tried to discuss the projects at hand, interjecting his opinions into my personal conversations with others, and complaining about his own colleagues. I wanted a more qualified and knowledgeable installer.
John was apologetic and responsive. He came himself the next day to fix the faucet, and did an excellent job. He even changed out a plastic part included in my faucet kit with a stainless steel one that looks much better since it is exposed. John, too, was unable to determine the cause of my roof leak after getting up on the roof to inspect it, so I appreciate his honesty in that. I didn't want the drywall fixed until the leak source was found, so that's why that wasn't done.
Overall I am happy with the end results of this company's work, though I do resent being given an installer initially who was not top notch. I was charged their minimum $225.
"It seems that there may have been some miscommunication with [member name removed]. We were hired by the [member name removed] to install new hardwood and refinish existing hardwood as well as doing some painting. They had just purchased their home and wanted a large job done in a short amount of time. We rearranged our schedule to meet their needs and completed the painting and flooring on schedule. The [member name removed] requested that we sand and refinish the banister railing and paint all of the spindles once we had already started the job. This work was added and we still finished the job on time. The [member name removed] noticed the railing needed another coat of poly and we immediately came back to take care of it. After the agreed work was completed we were contacted again by the [member name removed] to do additional work. They had been given a quote to install new granite and extend their existing countertop by building a custom frame with legs for an eating area. My communication for this job had all been through [member name removed] and when I scheduled the work I told him I would be out Wednesday to remove the cooktop, start building frame and the countertop would be in Monday. [member name removed] mentioned how his wife loved to cook and that she would be unhappy if she was without the cooktop for more than a day. I then rearranged my weekend with my daughter and worked all day Sunday so they were only without a cooktop for one day. So to this point with the [member name removed] there had been no complaints what so ever and we were on our second job for them. I went above and beyond to cater to their needs. Unfortunately Monday the granite fabricators did not show up which I had no control over. So I rushed out late evening and reinstalled their cooktop. The fabricators made several excuses and said they would be there the very next day then did the same thing again. I told [member name removed] I was very sorry and I wish there was something I could do. I gave them a $100 discount and offered to personally spend a few hours fixing things around their house at no charge. The countertop did get installed a week late and we no longer use that fabricator because of that. I personally always do my best to make things right with customers and wish there would have been a way I could have fabricated the granite myself. In no way did I mean any disrespect when I asked if [member name removed] had left a check or if it was with him. Since my communication had mainly been with [member name removed] I did say I had spoken with him and he did understand the situation after talking with him. [member name removed] wanted her countertop in right then and I couldn’t do anything about it but never said she wouldn’t understand. That must have been miscommunicated. The finished product looked amazing and I wish we could have continued to do business with them as we are well known and have always had a great reputation in their neighborhood. With 13 year’s experience and an A+ with the BBB I would never want to tarnish the reputation I have worked so hard to build over the years by making a derogative comment. I don’t make excuses I just tell it how it is there was nothing I could do other than discounting the work and offering some free services."
