The owner of this business is not only a painter, but he's also flips houses. I felt compelled to write because the detail in at least one of the bad reviews rang true to what our experience was, and unfortunately it is negated by the number of positive reviews here. This man was extremely combative during the whole process of buying his house. Several times, we nearly walked away from it. (If we didn't like the house itself so much, we would have.) He gave both our realtor and our finance people a tremendous amount of grief. His own realtor went MIA, which I found highly suspect. So, our realtor had to take over assisting him in order to get the deal done for us. He was highly resistant to any negotiation regarding price and made unreasonable demands. He banked on our close occurring sooner than it did and went to buy his next flip, counting on funds from the sale of our house to fund it. When the close didn't occur when he anticipated it, suddenly it was everyone else's fault and he wanted everyone else to take the fall for his bad decision making. He suddenly demanded "rent" from us for allowing us to store items in his house in the interim to cover his holding costs on his next flip. However, he wanted an unreasonable amount of money ($1000). Our things had also already been there for several weeks without him mentioning any additional costs upfront. He also put pressure on the realtor and finance people to make the close occur sooner, against federal laws that were in place regarding loan waiting periods. We agreed to pay $500. In the meantime, unknown to us our realtor got his holding costs waived. (Despite this, he ultimately still wanted his $500....see next paragraph) The realtor tried to buffer us from this guy. When he didn't have any luck getting a hold of us through our realtor, he showed up at our door at 10 AM on a Sunday morning still wanting his "rent" (it somehow fell between the cracks during the closing process) and his key lockbox. While there, he also vented and badmouthed our realtor, who he referred to as a "loser". (Basically, verbiage a high school kid would use. Between this and him wanting us to cover the cost for his mistake, this is why I completely believe what was stated in the one negative review.) Adding insult to injury, we later discovered when we went to make a claim on the home warranty that Matt Bodeker struck it out of the contract. We did a remote close, and no one let us know this occurred. He screwed us over but yet had the audacity to come to our house and collect his $500 "rent". (We nearly considered suing him for fraud but ultimately decided it was best to cut our losses and move on.) His workmanship on the house was poor in many regards and some things just plain odd. Here are some of the problems we've had: splattered paint in numerous spots throughout the house; groups of very strange spots that look like oil stains on numerous walls throughout the house that was supposedly painted; in one of the bathrooms he painted over a group of adhesive spots without removing them; a huge hole was in one of the bedroom walls during the showing (not sure if it resulted from him getting mad or if the previous tenants (who were renters) trashed the place.....he repaired before we closed on the house); other poorly patched holes where the plaster actually pushed out when touched; the closet shelving in one of the bedrooms was poorly installed, collapsed, and left huge scrapes and holes in one of the bedrooms; a toilet that we had to replace after we moved in; a sloppily installed dishwasher; cheap carpet installed that pills very badly; missing drainage hose for the humidifier that was dripping on (and rusting) the furnace and its air pipes; paint/plaster that I had to clean out of the refrigerator; a missing remote for the garage door which we weren't been able to retrieve. Regarding the toilet, the flushing components in the tank weren't sealing. To repair, we had to remove the tank. However, we couldn't remove it due to rusted bolts. It ended up being cheaper to buy a new toilet than to call a plumber. We think Bokeder knew about this since there is evidence he tried to make the repair (the bolts to the floor were loose, the water was turned off, and the wax seal on the outtake was missing), and when he couldn't remove the bolts to the tank he just left it. Regarding the dishwasher, there are gaps between it and the cabinetry, you can see insulation foam in the gaps, and the countertop is in the way and hangs over the controls, which are on top. He also hooked the dishwasher to a light switch. This guy is a loose cannon and doesn't make an investment in quality in order to make a fast buck. He will try to screw you over. I would suggest avoiding in all regards.

I called Matt Bodeker in the late spring/early summer.  Because of the demand for his services he was unable to schedule till mid July.  Matt kept in contact to let me know how other jobs were progressing and what the schedule was.  He arrived as promised and crew went to work.  His painters were friendly, respectful and very skilled.  Before the final site clean up, Matt inspected with me and suggested a spot or two for the painters to touch up.
I am so impressed with this company, the quality of their work, their professionalism.  I have and will continue to recommend them to others.

We had our entire first floor painted and Matt and his crew did a great job. There was some confusion on the sheen in the bathroom, but Matt fixed the problem. Mistakes happen, handling them with integrity is what matters most. I would definitely hire them again.

They cleaned the outside of our home before painting. I loved how the owner came out to the house to make sure everything was correct. Their preparation work was fantastic. They always cleaned up before and after work, and the house looks terrific. I have recommended them to family and friends.

They did a very good job. They were on top and accurate. They had the lowest bid. They even suggested a new color for us becuase the one we had chosen would be next to impossible to cover if we ever changed our mind. Overall, a great experience.

It took four days to complete the work. Everyone was prompt and friendly. They did good prep work on the walls before painting. I changed the bathroom color because I did not like the first color, and they were very polite and accommodating. The faux work looks terrific -- very impressive. I will definitely use them in the future.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!! THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME BODEKER PAINTING HAS WORKED FOR US. THE QUALITY IS IMPECCABLE. MATT BODEKER IS A VERY PROFESSIONAL AND RESPONSIVE OWNER. HE PERSONALLY MAKES SURE EVERY JOB IS DONE TO YOUR SATISFACTION. THEY WEREN'T THE CHEAPEST QUOTE, BUT I BELIEVE THAT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

THE OWNER WAS NOT COURTEOUS OR PROFESSIONAL ABOUT CONCERNS WE RAISED WHILE THE WORK WAS TAKING PLACE (INCLUDING ARGUING LOUDLY WITH ME ONE MORNING ON OUR FRONT PORCH). THE TEAM PERFORMING THE PAINTING DID NICE WORK BUT THE EXPERIENCE WAS UNPLEASANT ENOUGH THAT WE WOULD NOT HIRE THEM AGAIN.
