The project went very well. Everything was installed as promised, with the ACR team making suggestions along the way to improve the overall look and function. They even tied the new drainage components into the existing drainage system from the house, saving us a lot of money. Frank, the owner, was in constant communication with us, proactively updating my wife and I on the status of the project.

Basic work was done properly but required constant watching and correcting. In the end, there were finishing issues with the stone wall and patches where the stones for the wall were dropped on the finished stamped concrete. After returns to fix, the visual condition of the patch is still not right. Also, ACR will not provide me the specs for the type of sealant that they use and want to charge me a unreasonable price for routine sealant.

Undoubtedly the worst residential contractor I've ever dealt with, in terms of quality, responsiveness, and overall communication. Owner turned a deaf ear to numerous quality issues until I threatened a lawsuit, but the damage was already done: bottom rows of beautiful red brick on our house are permanently ruined from concrete slurry splashing onto house during the cement pour (they "forgot" the plastic sheathing used as a shield); I asked for 1/8" slope away from house and ended up with 5/16", which is just inexcusable (!) in the building trades; footprints from workers left in wet concrete and highly visible (the foreman actually had the audacity to look me in the eye and state that is was "part of the stamping design"); and honestly, the list goes on and on. The owner was bombastic, rude, and totally uninterested in supervising his employees on our site. He seemed to be interested in taking our money and unfortunately, little else. I should have sued for removal of the entire patio and a full refund but life's too short. Stay Away!

Every single year since installation, the concrete overlay has broken up badly in places and need repaired. Some areas repeatedly needed repaired in the same place, others were new. It took numerous calls to get them to show up to repair them though we paid for the repairs. See the 2 attached pictures of breakage even though there is too much concrete breakage to attach them all to this review. Last year they were constant no-shows on appointments for repairs. I phoned Frank, the owner, to complain about the no-shows. He told me to have someone else do the repairs since the pool company that referred him to us no longer gives him business referrals. I was shocked. I am in the process of hiring a new concrete contractor to make repairs on the ACR Concrete work.

MoreACR installed a decorative stamped concrete patio for me last fall. The company was very knowledgeable and the quality of the concrete was great, but the slope of the patio itself was a little greater than I would have preferred. The owner contacted me personally after the job was finished and after learning that I wasn't 100% satisfied, had his guys come out and completely redo the patio to ensure I was happy with the product. Not many companies (actually no other companies that I have ever dealt with) would demolish a recently installed patio due to the slope and replace it completely in order to ensure a customer's happiness. I think it speaks volumes to the integrity of this business and its commitment to customer service.  ACR went out of its way and didn't even turn a profit on my business to ensure I was a satisfied customer. This company truly cares about the quality of its product and the impression it leaves on the community. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for concrete work. I couldn't be happier with the professionalism of ACR, the responsiveness of the customer service, and the quality and look of the finished stamped concrete patio I now have for my home.

The patio and porches are quite large, so the project had a large scope. The company was very flexible and accommodating, it was able to complete the projects ahead of schedule, and the crew was highly professional and courteous the entire time.  Furthermore, they did an excellent job of listening to our expectations for the project, and they gave great suggestions as to how those expectations could be best achieved.

My wife and I are so pleased with our new front patio and walk. We were also very happy with our choice of contractor for the project. There price was competitive, but their service was great. ACR was not just a concrete installer. They helped with my design, helped me pick out my colors, performed the necessary demo, installed stamped and sealed the concrete, and cleaned up their mess. It says full service concrete provider on their website, and they mean it. Most of all we got exactly what we wanted in a timely manner and for the price quoted.

We had a fine experience with them.  It is just that we were really frustrated working during the rains.  They have nice sidewalk samples at their office.  We can look at the different concrete stamp and colors that they have.  They were punctual and did the job.  We didn?t have any problems with them.

We went over what we wanted with the salesperson and drew up a plan. When the crew arrived to do the patio the foreman looked at the plan and discussed changes with us that actually made the design much better. He suggested making the steps larger, wider and adding more of a curve. This small change made the patio look better. The color of the patio did not turn out to be exactly what we wanted. There are areas where the color is fine and other areas where the color is lighter. A year after the patio was done a corner of the patio cracked. My neighbor had a concrete patio done by another company and his patio cracked in the same place. ACR came out and repaired the area, but a year later to cracked again. This is the one downside of having a concrete patio.

They used Allen block for he retaining wall and it looked great. They came out very quickly to do the work for us. They did a good job. The patio is beautiful. They also installed a French drain. I had urged them to finish the job. They called me up and said the job was done. I went out and looked at it and saw that they had thrown a piece of tubing down in a ditch and called it a French drain. I disagreed on it and they sent out a guy who corrected it in a couple of hours. They took care of it. They charged me the amount that they had agreed upon. It was a little pricey.

He came out, ripped up the black top, and installed the whole element wrong. He only installed one-sixth of the wires required and in the end it didn't even come close to doing the job. When I called him back he denied any sort of mistake. I was very dissatisfied and would not recommend him to anyone.
Response from ACR Decorative Concrete
"Proper use of the heating system did result in melting the snow, just not as efficiently as the member expected. ACR has agreed to a refund to the member. Seeing as the member was not completely satisfied with the product we would hope them to use the refund to replace the product to get the initial efficiency they had hoped for. To our knowledge the customer will not be replacing the product."

ACR was the lowest of 3 quotes we received for this project. The work was completed in November 2007. There was a lack of communication throughout the project. The salesman who came out to give us the quote was not available at the time the work was actually completed and no alternate contact person was ever identified for us to call with questions. We called numerous times to find out what days the work would be completed, what the next steps were, etc. because no one let us know what to expect. After removing the old patio, the crew framed the new patio. We were not satisfied with the shape that was framed. We reviewed the drawing with the foreman, who was very reluctant to make any changes. We had difficulty communicating to him the shape we wanted. He was obviously irritated with having to move the framing, though when he actually did it, it took about 15 minutes to make right. When the color was applied to the patio, it seemed that they were not putting down much of the dye. We expressed concern at that time that the color would not meet our expectations, but were told it would be fine. The end result was a color more gray than we wanted. The steps were also done improperly. We specified a 1 foot wide bottom step in the drawing but it was done 2 feet wide. They left a lot of rough concrete around the base of the steps. They did grind to remove some of this, but not as much as we would have liked. Also, along the lines of the stamping, there is a white residue which has not gone away after 6 months. When the work was done, we called the owner, Frank to express our dissatisfaction with the color. He assured us it would deepen over time and to call him in the spring to review it with him. He said he would be able to do something to fix it if we still weren't happy. We had him out in April and when we pointed out our dissatisfaction with the color, he said, "You called me out here to talk about the color?" He told us our only option was to use a colored sealer, which he advised against. Because of his obvious lack of interest in our satisfaction, we did not address the other areas we were unhappy with. We like our new patio, but are disappointed with the color and the difficulties we had in working with ACR.

WHEN THE WORK WAS COMPLETED WE WERE DISAPPOINTED IN SOME ISSUES THAT WERE CAUSED BY LACK OF QUALITY CONTROL (STAIN ON SIDING AND MARKS IN DRIED CONCRETE DUE TO PLACEMENT OF STAMP ON WET CONCRETE). ALTHOUGH THEY WERE NOT WILLING TO CORRECT SOME OF THESE ISSUES AT FIRST, THEY AGREED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. UNFORTUNATE THIS MEANS THE LARGEST AREA NEEDS TO BE TORN UP AND RE-DONE. BUT THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND THE COMPANY WANTED TO INSURE WE WERE SATISFIED WITH THE JOB.
