On 21 April, we contracted with Mr. Phillip Seeberger for the above work.  The following is the cost break down: 1)$700.00 for soffits and trim of the whole home, 2)$800.00 to replace the bead board porch ceiling, 3)$350.00 to install a rubber membrane and replace the 2nd floor window flashing.  On 24 April, he received and cashed the $700.00 check for materials.   On 29 April, he began asking to be paid early.  We repeatedly refused until he was finished.  He notified us on May 4th at 21:21 (9:21pm) that he was 100% finished.  We did not ask for photographic evidence.  We received verbal confirmation that Mr. Seeberger was at our home working long hours and that the porch looked good.  We wired him the money on 5 May.   At noon, our painter arrived to inspect the home.  He emailed us promptly to say "I have some concerns.  Call at your convenience."  Unfortunately, Mr. Seeberger was only 50% finished, had left waste in our front yard, and had not replaced the soffits and rake board.  There remains a gaping 2x1 foot hole in our soffit.      We found Mr. Seeberger to be unreliable as he was often late or did not show for work.  He always had an excuse.  This experience has taught us the benefits of Angie's List and the power of writing a review.
