The initial work that was done went pretty smooth. The quote was issued in November and the work was performed in December. I used the Angie's List coupon they were offering for glass replacement. If this was the only interaction with Glass Guru, I would have given them much higher ratings.
In March, reached out again to get an estimate on correcting a moisture issue between the panes of a double pane external window. I had an appointment scheduled for 4/12 at 4:30 for them to stop buy and give me an estimate on this issue and a couple of other minor window issues. When I got home for the appointment, the contractor had already come earlier in the day and gave me an estimate only on the external window. He left a note stating he had a family situation that came up so he had to come earlier. It would have been nice if he would of called me and let me know he was coming earlier so I didn't have to leave work early to get to the appointment only to see he had already been there.
I decided to proceed with the work and left 5 voicemails and 2 emails over the last weeks to the company requesting to get the work scheduled. As of today, I have not received a single call back or email. Very disappointing! Clearly customer service is not one of their strengths. I would suggest you look elsewhere if you need work done on your windows.
"FROM THE NEW OWNERS: I am sorry your job did not go well. The previous owner, Chad Bradley, closed the doors and went out of business around April 6, 2016. We, the NEW OWNERS, purchased the territory rights from The Glass Guru Franchise Systems, Inc,and opened our doors on July 5, 2016. We are confident that things are going better under new ownership/management"

I had to initially put down a deposit of this work for $237, and am now going to have to work to have my money returned to me since they could not complete the full service we agreed upon. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. Not only are they completely unresponsive, but the service providers never offered to take off their shoes walking around in my home, and they didn't carry simple tools with them to work on the job (they had to borrow a screwdriver and a drill from me).

"Removed mbr info With the moisture removal process it can take up to 12 weeks for it to clear out as of now it has only been 4 weeks of the healing process. We do provide all customers with this information on the original estimate and a copy is left with the customer. the window is back with the service agreement, and warranty. We are willing to reservice the window before the healing period is over as long as the final balance that was due is paid."
The first batch done in 2014 was done very well and held up well. The Installer was professional and did quality work.
We had a major problem with the second batch done in May 2015. The glass itself was fine. However, the craftsmanship was awful. The installer was about two hours late and then rushed through the job and this showed through in the result.
For example, nails were not fully sunk or counter-sunk. They were clearly visible when looking at the frames and posed a hazard for anyone brushing their hand across the frame (e.g. when cleaning). Several nails were actually bent-over (like when a 5 year old tries to drive a nail). There were dents in the frame where the hammer missed the nail. Finally, after butchering the frames with hammer and nail, the installer gooped silicone caulk all over the glass and wood frame in a terribly unsightly way. I was devastated. . . . . . a primary reason for replacing the glass was because we were selling our house and wanted the windows to be a positive, not a negative. The workmanship was simply unacceptable.
I called the Glass Guru office and registered a complaint, Their response was to send a supervisor out a week later to assess the work. I was uncomfortable waiting that long for what may be a resolution as they already had my check for full payment. So, I called my bank and put a stop payment on the check. Upon calling Glass Guru back to let them know there was a stop payment on the check until the issue was resolved, they offered to send the same installer that did the work a year earlier to clean up the mess the very next day. That original installer came to our home and did good job fixing what he could but some damage was permanent (dents in the frames, silicone caulk on the wood, etc.). This guy was professional, apologized, and did a lot of repair and cleanup but, as stated, some of the damage simply cannot be undone.
Bottom line - There seem to be no standard of process or workmanship. The quality of the install is fully dependent on the individual doing the work. If you get lucky, you'll be pleased with the result, However, if you get the other guy, be prepared for awful results. Inspect their work as they're doing it (as I experienced, some of the damage simply cannot be undone).
I would not use Glass Guru again and would not recommend them. I do have pictures showing examples of the shoddy workmanship if needed.
