Heiss Plumbing & Electric Inc

Things started off well. The person who came to the house to estimate the job was prompt and professional. The cost estimate he provided ($700) was higher than I expected. However, I was made to believe that there was a significant amount of work to be done. Being new to the area and seeing that Heiss's previous Angie's List ratings were good, I decided to proceed with the project.
The Heiss plumber did not show up on the day and time scheduled. I called their office 2-3 hrs after the start time to find out that an error had been made and the plumbers had not been dispatched as agreed. If I had not called I am not sure when the Heiss office staff would have discovered the error. I was told that it was too late to "reschedule" plumbers for today, but that they would be at there promptly at 8:30 AM the next day.
The next day at 9:20 AM we were beginning to wonder if the plumbers were coming when we saw a truck drive across the front lawn. It was the Heiss plumbers. They had not come to the door to introduce themselves or ask permission to drive across the lawn. Late and inconsiderate, bad first impressions. Less than two hours later the plumbers told my wife the work was completed and departed.
Later when the propane company arrived and hooked up the propane tank, the house quickly filled with gas, a very dangerous situation. It was discovered that a branch of the gas piping that had previously fed a fireplace was leaking. The fact that Heiss did not discover this indicates that they did not pressure test their work.
Heiss did hook up the propane to the dryer and range and there were no issues with there. However, they did not hook up the dryer vent which may have been a mis-communication on my part. However, at the price paid it seems reasonable that this should have been done.
Cost: The full amount of estimate was billed. Fair enough. However, the $700 cost for 3 hours of labor and minimal materials seems very high in retrospect.
Summary: Heiss will not be given the opportunity to do future work at my home.

I have used Heiss Plumbing and Electric several times in the past, and will continue to do so in the future. Appointments were scheduled in a timely manner, the technicians arrived as scheduled, and there were no problems or delays in getting the job done. Employees are friendly, but still professional. Fees are reasonable.

They are friendly. They were there within an hour or so. They were punctual. They did a good job. I would use them in the future.

They've done a good job and have come out quick as possible. Everybody that's come out has been courteous. They've even come out on weekends. They're reasonably priced. They just go above and beyond. They do good work. They come in and give me advice. I feel like the advice they've given has fair and probably the cheapest option.
