This was one of three estimates for the project, and our second time doing a master bathroom in the last decade. The design was good, but in the end not our favorite, and the cost was double the two other estimates (which were closer to our expectation based on prior experience). It was repeatedly mentioned by our consultant that he was trying to stay within a budget, suggesting we were doing a cheap version of the bathroom. The estimate was ultimately much less detailed than the other two, in terms of material selection and project expectations. We elected to use another highly rated provider.

Everything went smoothly - happy with service

We met to discuss my budget and the options for the remodel. Dan listened carefully and considered my ideas, something I have found not all contractors are willing to do. He offered suggestions that I had not considered and explained the benefit of each. When we reached agreement, Dan took me to the tile and granite companies and helped me select the perfect products for the walls, floor and vanity top. We selected the new toilet and wall paint. When I decided to keep my three section mirrored medicine cabinet, Dan determined it could be recessed into the wall. That small move made a big difference in usable space above the vanity. The Special Projects Team, all employees of the company (no subcontractors) could not have been more professional. Their schedule was the same each day and they cleaned up thoroughly before they left. Plastic sheets were hung around work areas and over doors to other rooms in order to minimize dust. They were efficient, organized and courteous at all times, providing outstanding service (sometimes with a sense of humor) and exceptional craftsmanship. Dan was on site each day to consult with his guys and answer any questions I might have. This company, as the name suggests, is the BEST. They care about their clients and take pride in their work. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone requiring excellence in professionalism, work ethic and remarkable quality of workmanship. I am already planning the next project for the Special Projects Team.

I had just bought this home and the first thing which needed to be done was it needed to be resided. So .my original contact with JK Best (Brian Martin) was to have them resided my home with HardiePlankand reg;. MY home has a lot of irregular walls so the work was more difficult than usual. The house also had some structural issues under the old siding..JK Best dealt with the structural issues as well as putting up the siding. My home also had several broken windows which JK Best replaced. Several windows were missing their hand cranks. Brian did some research and was able to find matching replacements. When they were finishing up I asked if JK Best also did decks and was told yes. I wanted the deck surface replaced with composite decking (thee existing surface was warping). When they removed deck flooring they discovered that the structure did not come close to specifications. To make a long story short there were several areas where the construction was not even close specifications. Brian pointed these out to me and asked if I wanted the deck to be bought up to specifications. I said yes. And I am very happy with the deck One thing I want to underline is that Brian always listens to the customer.

Our bathroom remodel was actually the second job for which we hired J K Best. They originally replaced our front door and window in late 2013 and we were very satisfied with the work they did on that project so we hired them again to do the bathroom remodel. The remodeling was everything we could have expected and more. They started the project around the end of January 2014, according to the schedule they had given us in advance. The gutting of the existing bathroom fixtures went quickly and included removing the existing tub, shower and cabinets as well as the carpeting which was on the bathroom floor. The contractor was always very prompt in showing up in the morning and worked till about 5 or 5:30 PM each day -- they were always accommodating of our schedule as well. Each day, they kept us posted as to what they were working on and always did an excellent job of protecting our bedroom furniture as they were bringing things in and out and also did a wonderful job each day of cleaning up as they were ready to leave. Kim, their design assistant, was helpful in advising us as far as how to coordinate the various elements of the bathroom. Their team was always very professional and we felt comfortable leaving our home during the day while they were working. They installed new cabinets, a new glass enclosed shower with tiled walls and flooring as well as tile on our floor to replace the carpeting. They also custom built a bench in place of the old tub and as well as custom medicine cabinets, and also replaced a large window. There were no surprise costs to the work -- they did have to reinforce a support beam in the floor which was an additional charge, but they thoroughly explained why the work needed to be done and how the cost was calculated. The job was finished on time, just as promised. Although the project probably ended up costing more than had we hired another contractor, we felt that we received quality workmanship from a very professional team and that we received full value for what we paid. We would definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone.

I was very pleased with their work and their follow through. What really impressed me is that we have a very unique stipling painting on the ceiling of the basement and they were able to match that perfectly.

This was our second project with JKBest, and the experience was just as great the second time around. At the conclusion of our first project we knew we'd have them back to take care of much needed gutter replacement and some general repairs to our cedar siding. Knowing that we had these projects on our radar, Brian contacted me when they were doing other work in our neighborhood to see if we were ready for a quote.....4 weeks later our project is complete! They are incredibly efficient! Brian recommended gutters that would provide greater water capacity vs. the old system and a cleaner/crisper appearance, along with a Leaf Relief product that their experience has shown to be the most effective. Regarding our chimney trim (damaged by woodpeckers), Brian recommended fiber cement siding which would be impervious to any future insect or woodpecker damage. We have appreciated their ability to make recommendations that will meet our long term needs, while respecting our desire to keep the costs in check. The JKBest crew members are friendly and very professional, and the quality of all work performed was top notch. Our gutters and new trim look great and have improved the overall appearance of our home. When I had questions during the project, my e-mails or phone calls were returned within minutes, demonstrating their committment to customer service and satisfaction. Both of our experiences working with JKBest have been exceptional! .

I had JK Best come out and give me an estimate to put lattice around the bottom of my deck since I was having issues with animals getting under it. The crew came out and custom-built the lattice on site. It looks awesome. Everything that JK Best has done for me has always exceeded my expectation. After all the bad experiences I have had with other remodeling companies, and work I have had to have re-done, it is a wonderful feeling to finally find a company that can be trusted. I know JK Best will do an excellent job and treat me right. I will continue to use JK Best Construction for all my home needs. They are number 1 in my book.

I can't say enough great things about JK Best Construction. They have an excellent crew; Brian Martin and Dan Partin treat their customers like family. Brian came out to give me an estimate to replace my deck boards with composite boards. I was thinking about replacing the balusters all the way around the deck but Brian stated that replacing the balusters would increase the price a lot and was not really needed. He stated the balusters were in good shape and all they really needed is pressure washed and stained which they could do when they replaced the deck floor boards and the top board for the balusters. To me, this shows honesty and integrity which is very uncommon in this day and age. I admire everyone at JK Best Construction. In May, the crew started and did an excellent job. I just love my deck. I will use JK Best for all my home needs.

I used JK Best for several projects already so I knew what to expect. Brian Martin and Dan Partin (owners) are awesome. They truly care about their customers. The crew is very trustworthy and hard working. They moved everything to the middle of my basement and draped plastic and taped everything to try and keep the dust from getting on things and coming up stairs. Fine dust still found it's way upstairs but it could have been worse. I love the walls. They look wonderful. I also love my new stairs. They custom built the stairs onsite.The stairs are so sturdy I could do jumping jacks on them. The crew came back the Monday after Thanksgiving and vacuumed, wiped off, and cleaned everything downstairs. They also moved everything back against the walls. It looks wonderful downstairs. I am definitely going to call JK Best whenever I need any work done to my home. After all the bad experiences I have had with previous companies. It is wonderful to finally find a company I know I can trust.

JK Best did an excellent job. From the estimate through the end of the job, everyone was polite, caring, and made me feel comfortable. I had gutters put on (not from them) several years before but was having a lot of issues. When JK Best did the estimate, they told me the gutters were too small for the house. The crew was polite, worked hard, and did an excellent job. I have not had the water issues since my new gutters were installed. I love that there is no need to remove debris from the gutters since the installation of the Leaf Relief. JK Best will be my first choice with anything that I need to do with the house.

This was the second time we used JKBest, so we already knew we would be working with good and trustworthy people. Their motto is: and quot;We are guests in your houseand quot;, and their practices reflect this. The same team came each day, always arriving about the same time, putting in a full days work, and always cleaning up at the end of each day. They put protective sheeting up each day around the work area to contain as much as of the dust as possible. They were always polite and accommodating. While we vacationed, they scheduled as much of the and quot;dirty/noisyand quot; work as possible, for our convenience. In addition to the construction work, JKBest provided shopping assistance and guidance for all our selections. They listened to any concerns or suggestions we made as the work progressed and addressed any issues until we were completely satisfied. The scope of the job had several components and they worked with us re scheduling that would work for us. The kitchen was transformed from a small, dark cramped work area to a large, bright beautiful workspace, with an eating counter. The adjacent family room became an extension of the kitchen, turning one end into our dining area and the far end into the hearth room. Changing the ceramic fireplace facade to stone added warmth and depth to the room. Their design of the stonework and mantle is nothing short of awesome. JK Best employs craftsmen, that care deeply about their work product. We added to the original scope of the work as we found other things in the house that needed to be addressed, like replacing the patio sliding door and the safety door to the garage. Their response was immediate in helping with the selection and ordering of these doors, so the installation could be done while the other work was still in progress. This resulted in having all the work completed at the same time. Going the extra mile seems to be part of their code - such as using the old kitchen cabinets to replace the even older laundry room cabinets - thus giving a second room a much needed facelift at no extra charge. And their quality commitment even showed in their going ahead and repairing some grass areas where a truck had made some ruts. Our overall experience was great from beginning to end. We fully trust Brian, Dan and their crew. And the transformation of our house is amazing.

Just can't say enough great things about JKBest! What we thought would be a simple replacement of rotten cedar siding/trim around our front door turned into a full blown interior/exterior wall replacement due to hidden water damage! JKBest identified and clearly communicated the issue(s) we needed to address. They worked carefully to salvage and existing palladium window and entry door which saved us a considerable amount of money. Further they proposed/implemented design suggestions which update the appearance of our front entry. The quality of work was exceptional and every employee treated our home as if it were there own. JKBest owners, Brian and Dan, checked in daily to monitor construction and keep us apprised of progress. We feel incredibly fortunate that as builders they had the aptitude to address all of the issues that presented with our project. We will definitely be using there services again.

We consider JK Best as one of our family. We love their professionalism, honesty, and caring nature. When working with Brian Martin and Dan Partin (the owners) we knew immediately that we wanted to go through them for all of our home remodeling needs. When we first met for the kitchen, Brian and Dan really listened to what we wanted and were honest with us about what would work with the limited space that we had. They come up with plans that we could all agree on and then set up a time to meet with the cabinet and counter top people. Brian was with us ever step of the way. He was very good about letting us pick what we wanted. When we got stuck, I asked him for his honest opinion and he gave it to us. He never was looking to push the most expensive products on us, but with what would work well for us. When the construction began, they were very cognizant of making sure that we had workable space at the end of the day so that we could still eat and use our kitchen. They thoroughly cleaned all surrounding areas and picked up after themselves. I truly believe that the workers of JK Best cared about us as people as well as clients. I never once felt like we were just a customer to them even though they had other projects going on while they were working with us. After they had finished with the kitchen, they made sure that everything was up to their standards. I would not hesitate to have JK Best come back to our house for any of our home care needs. They are a wonderful, hard working group of men who care about their work and the people that they work for. They even came into my classroom and helped me with a project on how to design a and quot;greenand quot; home. They met with my students once a week for 5 weeks providing insightful information and answering lots of questions from my students. That to me shows how special these guys are!

All the people who work for this company are topnotch. The owners, Dan and Brian, spend the time getting to know you and understand what you want to achieve with your project. Their knowledge of the building trades is outstanding and very welcome. They are able to overcome the types of household problems that come up during a remodel. We have had several “head scratcher problems” and they had an answer for each one of them. You can truly trust these folks. Kim is just wonderful in providing interior decorating support and encouragement. Ben and the rest of the work team provide the highest quality work. Everyone in this company is very sensitive to the fact that they are working in your home, and they go to great effort to keep the disruption to a minimum. We highly recommend them.

Their prices were extremely reasonable on the roof and gutter work. They quoted me way high on the bathroom, which is why I didn't use them for that. The technicians were professional and pleasant to work with. I would use them again.

See above. UPDATE: When the house was sold in May the inspector noticde a water problem with the door they installed. They were good, and fixed the small problem at no charge (warrantee work). The sale proceeded with no problem.

When they replaced two sliding doors we discovered that both had been improperly installed by the builder and had caused water to leak in and incur damage to the surrounding wood and doors. We had no clue how bad the damage was when we reached out for their help. They emailed my husband and I pictures of the damaged wood and kept us informed throughout the entire process so we always knew where we stood from when they would be working at our house to the cost of the project. Additionally, I have 2 young children and it was important to have someone who cleaned up after themselves -- not just at the end of the job, but every day so my little ones weren't trying to eat or step on left over nails or other debris and I wasn't spending even more time cleaning my house. For our finished basement...my husband and I work full time, but we have our children taken care of in our home each day. It was extremely important that anyone who walked into our house was trustworthy and respectful of my little ones. They delighted us with their design, coming up with something that surpassed our initial vision and took care of little details that we didn't have time to think about (but always ran decisions by us before they executed them). Every day they would clean up the house on their way out and throughout the entire project they provided us with updates either in person, via phone or by email. My parents just recently remodeled their 30+ year old house and I remember them saying how long it took and how they always needed to be on top of the groups that they worked with. I never once felt that way -- each day I saw noticable progress, I knew where we were in the project, and it didn't drag out forever -- I always felt like they treated me as a valuable customer - even for the small projects.
