"** PLEASE READ ** The beginning of the sale started of fine. We spent a great of time working with [Member name] & [Member name]. We had agreed to hardwood flooring and carpeting and the price. They did come in and sign a contract. As a small business, we make it very clear to our customers that once they sign this means they are ready to move forward ordering their products. We kept the [Member name] family very well informed about the process. The hardwood flooring was out of stock, which we informed them about, in fact we overcommunicated. We made special arrangement and special ordered their product to ensure prompt delivery. This is when [Member name] changed her mind. This goes against the written agreement. because once we order we are charged a restocking fee. We accommodate [Member name] and allowed her to cancel the order. We have gone above and beyond to try the customer happy because we ARE a small business and one negetative comment can be detrimental to our company. Please review our other ratings.... this is a testimonial as to how we operate and treat our customers. This last point is very important. As a small business, we spent the time and money to have our staff install products in her home. We are allowing her to keep the material which has been installed and we are returning her money. Please feel free to research our company and read our reviews. Thank you"
Marsha called to let me know that the job probably would not be done until late April because they were unable to obtain the material locally. I was pleasantly surprised when she called at the end of March to let me know they had located the flooring and it was available to install install immediately. Brian arrive on 4/2 and within 4 hours my entire kitchen floor was replaced, new toe strips installed, and everything cleaned up.
I was so pleased with the flooring results, I failed to notice a toe molding had been installed by the exterior door sill. It was effective but not pleasing to my eye. Marsha, Chris and I discussed the reason for the molding and alternatives. Brian came, removed the molding and caulked that edge.
I could not be more pleased with the final result and with the service provided by the entire Hometown Flooring team.
"We have A ratings from our other customers: please read. We installed a vinyl laminate flooring in [Member Name Removed] house. This was put on top of her subflooring which was installed by the builder. As a flooring company, we go over the existing subfloor which we have to assume the integrity is fine. We can not predict that a few nails will raise over time. This was the originating problem. As a small business, we do everything possible to make sure our customers are happy. To help her solve the problem of the faulty subflooring, we purchased and installed additional flooring. We have spent a great deal of money trying to make her happy. We cover floors not build floors. Please read our reviews."
Another wonderful experience with Hometown Flooring. I contacted Chris and told him I wanted to replace the current vinyl flooring in my large eat-in kitchen and guest bath. I wanted to replace the flooring but did not want to put a lot of money into it. Chris came out to my home within a day or so, took measurements and then gave me suggestions. He also gave me an estimate for the job. I decided on doing another vinyl floor.
I went to his business and looked at samples. The vinyl flooring available today is not your grandmother?s vinyl! The quality and thickness of the samples he showed me were great. I could not find a design I really wanted so he called the manufacturer. They told him that they were coming out with a new line and would drop off these new samples. Chris had these new samples dropped off at my home!
My husband and I laid the samples we liked on the floor until we decided on one. We called the office with the sample name and within a day we were given our quote. The quote included moving the stove and fridge, the flooring, toe molding, molding under the cabinets, labor as well as things I might be forgetting. We arranged a day at the end of the week to have it installed. The office kept in touch with me concerning the delivery of the flooring and what time the installers would show up.
Brian and Joe came Saturday morning and got right to work. They did everything Chris and I agreed on. They did an excellent job cleaning up before and after the job. They were both friendly and professional. The flooring is beautiful! It was installed perfectly and we had no follow up issues. Chris stayed in touch with me to ensure I was happy with the outcome. I certainly am!
We have used Hometown Flooring once before so we didn?t even shop around. I know we would not have gotten the personal touch from a big box store. I can definitely recommend Hometown Flooring for your next floor replacement. Thanks Chris!!
Bottom line is the project was finished when we needed it done. And it was done within our budget. We have gotten many compliments on the floors and other than some squeaks and creaks that we didn't realize would come with the flooring, we are certainly happy with the end result. The process itself was more of a headache than we anticipated. Clearly we should have done a bit more research!
On the day I first visited Hometown Flooring, I explained to Chris that our carpet and bathroom vinyl flooring were more than ten years old and sorely needed replaced. I told him that we wanted to replace our yellowed bathroom vinyl tile with ceramic or porcelain tile and that we needed a durable carpet that would not show stains and wear-and-tear on the stairway. I also shared with Chris that we planned to move in a few years, so we wanted above-average but not premium products. The carpet selection was easy: Chris encouraged me to take samples home, and we made a selection almost immediately. We are very happy with our new carpet.
Unfortunately, I made a poor choice for our bathrooms. Although I originally wanted ceramic tile, I was intrigued when Chris spoke enthusiastically about a luxury "snap and lock" textured vinyl tile that could be "floated" above our floor without a great deal of labor. Indeed, when I looked at samples of the tiles, they looked very similar to ceramic, but cost less. I decided to choose this type over ceramic, but I made a mistake by not asking to see how several squares of this vinyl tile would look snapped together on my floor. Here's the catch: because the tiles are snapped together and there is no grout (or spaces) between tiles, the floors look as though they are once again covered in a solid sheet of linoleum! In no way do they resemble a ceramic tiled surface. Although the floors clearly look better than my faded, yellowed linoleum, they are not what we expected or desired. Chris certainly did not pressure me into buying the vinyl, but I wished I'd listened to my own inner voice instead of being influenced by his enthusiasm for the "luxury" vinyl tiles!
I signed the invoice on Thursday, his installer Brian dropped the material off Friday afternoon, and he began working Sunday morning at about 8 (he would have started Saturday, but the material needed to sit for 24 to 48 hours to acclimate to the temperature/humidity of the house), and was completely finished by Monday evening. Brian was polite, professional, and did not make a huge mess of everything. I definitely felt comfortable leaving him in the house alone to work.
On top of everything else going so well, Brian discovered that the old water line that had been hooked in to our newly installed fridge had been kinked (it was copper), but the installers just shoved the fridge back into place. Not only was it restricting the water flow to our icemaker, but it could have potential snapped and leaked water all over our kitchen. My first thought when he showed me was "great, now I'll have to call a plumber as well," but he offered to go to Home Depot, pick up the necessary parts, and fix it himself, free of charge. Upon coming back, he said that they had the water line but not the proper hardware to hook it up. So even after the job was completed, he returned to the house 2 days later to replace our fautly water line, taking another half hour to forty five minutes of his personal time. This spoke volumes to the level of customer satisfaction that both he and Chris strive to achieve.
I would strongly recommend to anyone looking for ANY type of flooring to check these guys out. Chris will work with you to find the best and most affordable options for your house or business, and will provide excellent workmanship and service when you decide what to have installed. You may find slightly cheaper avenues (buying the material yourself and getting a handyman who doesn't really know what he is doing), but if you want something done quickly and with great quality, you will find it's well worth the few extra bucks.
They did a very good job refinishing the upstairs floors. The color of the stain is gorgeous.
There was an insanely tight timeline due to settlement delays. The air conditioning guy was delayed and the floor people were concerned about installing the floor in the 100 plus degree heat. The carpenters and painters were incensed and abusive saying the floor guys just didn't want to work in the heat. Hometown Flooring researched the product specifications calling the factory to double check about installation conditions. They stuck to their guns, insisting that the floors needed to be installed properly to protect the integrity of the product and also insisted that drying time on the second floor be respected. They worked late into the night several evenings to help me tstay on schedule and didn't charge any extra. I respect that they stuck to their guns - their were very concerned about the humidity - the floors came out beautifully.
