We were trying to list the house asap because we had already moved and they understood it was rush job for us when we met. On July 12, I received their quote via text. On July 14, I responded to their quote and asked them to schedule us and provide a contract and I would meet them with a key and the down payment. On the 15th, she said she had forgotten to forward my text for scheduling but would do so. I followed up on the 18th and was told they could not start now until the 29th because they had scheduled other jobs ahead of me because I had not responded. When I forwarded the text showing I had, she said their schedules were different and I should have been dealing with him even though she sent me the quote. I asked for a contract and that seemed to be a problem and she said it was everything we had talked about and sent a text with most of those things listed out. By the time this was done, she said they could not start until August 4. I met them to provide key and down payment. He said he could start July 30. They did not show up the 30 or 31st. On August 1, they were there for about an hour. On August 4, they had several people there from morning until very late. The work reflected that it was done at the end of a long day.
Examples of specific issues:
Paint on dresser and carpet.
One room had been green and was being painted over with beige. Instead of moving the furnace manual that was
leaning against the wall, they painted around it.
There was drywall damage in one area and he had told us he 'knew what to do to fix it all up'. Instead it looked
worse than at the beginning and you could see the drywall tape. His response was that drywall wasn't in the quote but
fixing that area had been discussed.
We had said 'paint over all the paneling' and one room was not painted.
Gutters were supposed to be cleaned. There was a plant growing in one that was not removed.
The bathroom was very well done and the work was cleaned up well except for the paint.
We paid for the work so we could sell the house and make sure there was not a contractor claim against it.
