Could not recommend DES more. We chose them after reading their stellar reviews and they didn't disappoint. Our attic had been finished without any insulation, so it was an uninhabitable sauna during the warm months, and an icebox during the cold. Chris and his team performed a free inspection and then were able to fit us in their schedule right away. The crew was polite, professional, and made sure we understood every step of the process. They were all business, getting the work done quickly and efficiently. They even insulated some areas that weren't in the initial scope of work for free, after noticing the areas needed it. We've already noticed a huge difference in the comfort of our home. So glad we went with DES over someone else.

We had the company come in to make our second floor â live-ableâ . The temperature difference between our floors was so dramatic I was dripping with perspiration in my sewing area. We called to get an assessment of the existing insulation, the circulation on the second floor and recommendations to make our home comfortable and energy efficient! After one day, I can already tell a huge difference! I am confident as we go into the hottest part of the summer the whole house will be comfortable. The utility company might be in for a big surprise, too! We canâ t recommend them enough!

We are a Museum in Springboro, Ohio. Our Building dates to 1810. We had several estimates for this work. Chris was the only contact person to personally inspect all area of the attic. Pricing was fair and considered our non profit status. Crew was effiecient, professional and courteous. Went above and beyond to make sure all areas of the old building were covered. The cleanup was great the only way we knew they were there was the reduction in our energy bills a month later.

Response from Dr. Energy Saver Cincinnati
"THIS IS NOT A CLIENT. In fact, despite the fact that she gave us 5 stars for customer service, we show no record of even meeting her; plus HA/Angi isn't even supposed to send us leads for rolled batts and therefore I could request that this 'review' be removed. However, I'll instead take this time to state that by and large, fiberglass batting is a blight on our energy grid and that it is true that we almost always refuse to touch the stuff as we are not in the business of doing something ineffectual just because there's a buck to be made. We will not compromise when it comes to accomplishing our client's objectives nor will I ask my team to do work with which they can't be proud. If this 'review' was really left by someone with which we met, I invite you to call us back and I'll be more than happy to discuss alternatives (but only if those alternatives deliver value)."

Iâ m incredibly thankful to Chris Shepard and DES for drastically improving my living situation. My home is drastically more comfortable, my energy bills are lower, and the value of my home has increased in a way thatâ s more durable than a new appliance or a few new windows. As a relatively new homeowner, I also feel that I have a much better understanding of how conditioned air moves throughout my house and what to look for when examining the insulation/ductwork/etc in a future home. If you shop around like I did, you will find some lower quotes and different materials. But in my opinion, this is the only way to go if you want results, and if you want to work with a professional company that can guarantee quality service. My house is a 1940s Cape Cod, with a 2nd story that was unlivable in the summer/winter. With only one supply vent, no air return, and (more importantly) old useless fiberglass from its original construction, the temperature mimicked outdoor temps and allowed conditioned air from the lower level to escape as well. My energy bills were incredibly high, and the usable sq footage of the home was limited to the 1st floor. After I requested a quote, Chris walked me through the entire house, listened to my concerns, verified why I was having the problems, and explained every potential solution in detail. Within 24 hrs I had received a similarly detailed proposal outlining the work needed and the associated costs. Had I not moved forward with the proposal, I still probably would have come out ahead, as I basically got a free lesson on thermal envelopes and how air moves throughout a home. Luckily I did move forward, and they were able to schedule the service within only a few weeks (and right before winter hit). When Chris and the team showed up, they were friendly, professional, and they covered furniture where necessary to prevent a mess. All of the old fiberglass was replaced with spray foam behind the kneewalls/under the roof, and cellulose was dense-packed in the vaults/attic space where access prevented spray foam from being practical. They redirected the existing supply duct to create a 2nd vent, and added an air return to allow better temperature consistency/airflow in the summer months. They also added spray foam around the entire rim joist in the basement, and applied blown-in cellulose in the attic space above a back addition on the 1st story. Before and during the process, they took time to explain their progress and ask questions about my preferences (for example, how invasive to be when they needed to drill into drywall/wood paneling). When they were finished, they took the time to vacuum/mop all parts of the house theyâ d accessed. After a month or so, I contacted Chris again because the 2nd story was still a few degrees colder than what Iâ d expected. When he came out the 2nd time, he found and fixed the issue (an air leak behind my thermostat, which made the furnace turn off too quickly), which brought my satisfaction with the work from 90% to 100%.

They did not fulfill original contract of wall insulation. They found out after I moved all the furniture that they could not do the walls. I was not at home ehen they discovered this. My husband oked the insulation of garage for a much higher price.I had already received 2 bids which were lower for garage. But this is not what was needed. The rooms are still cold. 2700 wasted. Not at all happy. Will never use your service again
Response from Dr. Energy Saver Cincinnati
"Summary: She said it herself - without prompting, her husband told us to change the scope of the work and she is mad at him but for some reason has chosen to take it out on us. The full story: She insisted we do the walls above the garage and did not even allow us the chance to investigate them. When our install team arrived, we drilled into a wall and found they are brick on the block (1/2 inch wall cavity that cannot be insulated). When we told the client that and were about to leave, her husband asked us to insulate the floor space between the garage and the conditioned space above instead (which is what we would have recommended had she not insisted on the walls; oh, and the 2 other bids she mentions were insulating the walls of the garage - also not what we would have recommended). So we waited around while he tried 3 times to confirm the change with his wife but she would not pick up, so after about an hour of waiting around, he told us to go ahead and do it. Upon her return, she had, well...A bit of a fit. We felt so bad for her husband that we offered even more discounts and suggested she not pay us until she validates that the solution works. She refused and instead, she paid in full and left us this completely unjust review (we did what the client asked us to do - were we supposed to look her husband in the eye and say NO?!?). Oh, and applying this solution versus insulating the walls took twice the amount of materials and labor and we only charged them (a heavily discounted) 20% more. NOTE: She left the review the next day - well before the insulation could have even had an impact (cold insulation going into a cold cavity would take 48-72 hours to acclimate). I assume she is not returning our messages offering to come out and investigate because it is working fine now and she is just embarrassed (her husband was apologetic and old told us he was pleased with our work and extra consideration). I do wish you both a comfortable winter."

Cannot express enough how pleased we were with DES! They were thorough, friendly, reasonably priced, and left our house cleaner than it was when they arrived. We have already noticed a difference in the temperature of our home, the work was completed yesterday. Theyâ re honest and didnâ t try to sell us on extra things just to make a buck. That was a breath of fresh air after another company tried to scare us into spending almost double for 1/6 of the work DES completed. Highly recommend!!

Those guys were awesome. They did everything I was told they would do. Jason took pictures during the insulation removal process and during the installation process. They cleaned the job site extremely well when the work was done. I enjoyed watching these guys working together as a team. No one slacked off for a second and they each displayed genuine initiative. It reminded me of my Army days. I donâ t know their names, other than Jason, but you can be glad they represented DES in a positive and professional manner.

Chris was great! He was recommended to me by a friend, and has done a couple if different insulation and HVAC efficiency improvement projects for me that I couldn’t be happier about. He does a thorough job, explains what would be the best bang for your buck and he shows you how it will work and the before and after results. Extremely happy with the job he did. Can’t recommend him any more highly.

I contracted Dr Energy Saver to come out and do a blower door test on my property, and expected just that. Chris spend an hour touring the house and talking risk factors with me and easy mitigation efforts I could take, before even getting the blower door out. During the blower door test he walked the property with me detecting specific air leaks, and giving me tricks of the trade to mitigate what I could without professional intervention. Then went and got a thermal camera and took 79 thermal images of the areas we detected. After going through everything with me in detail he recommended taking some of the mitigating actions, then offered some professional service alternatives if I wanted them. At no time did I feel like he was attempting to sell me anything, but he took the time to lay out the options. Chris is an educator 1st. I cant underscore how much i appreciate understanding a problem before selecting what i believe is the best solution. Great service, highly recommend.

Finally a wonderful night's sleep! My wife and I have had issues for years with a "drip" noise in our ductwork that would keep us both up at nights. After having several HVAC professionals & plumbers out to take a look with no avail, Chris was able to trace the problem to a lack on insulation that allowed cold air to penetrate the house. He was able to seal up the problem areas and immediately the duct area and vent heated back up to normal levels and the popping sound decreased dramatically! I can't recommend Chris enough. He held true to his guarantee to fix the problem and waived his minimum charge after hearing about all the issues we've been facing. Thank you once again to Chris and the Dr. Energy Saver Cincinnati team.

I waited awhile for colder weather to write this review. I wanted to see how this product performed in hot and cold conditions and i am very pleased with how much less my furnace runs and how comfortable my bedrooms are. Every aspect of dealing with this contractor was a awesome experience. I have never heard of an estimator who work as hard and be as helpful as Chris was when he came to our home. Not only was he professional and knowledgeable he took the time to make sure other systems in our home were functioning properly with the ventilation issues also. I was just as pleased with the installers. They were quick, informative, clean and professional. They left no mess at my home at all. Everything was covered and they also wore mask to protect my family from Covid-19. I highly recommend this company.

We called Chris with DES out to help us with what a home inspector told us was mold and unvented bathroom fans. He was able to come out that same day to inspect the attic. We were prepared to pay whatever it took to resolve the issues and Chris knew that. However, he confirmed the fans were connected, he crawled back to where nobody has ever been before and inspected the area and said there was no mold. We tried to offer him money for his time, but he refused. If ever you are looking for an honest, professional and efficient insulation company, I highly recommend Chris and Dr. Energy Saver Cincinnati/Dayton!â

Fantastic Value and Amazing Attention to Detail! DES recently performed extensive work at my home, and I couldnâ  t be more satisfied. I selected them after receiving quotes from 9 other providers. They were not the least expensive, but they were certainly the best value. Chris did a tremendously thorough survey of the house before crafting a quote. Prior to his arrival, I prepared a somewhat esoteric list of details that I wanted to be addressed during the work. While Chris was looking over the property, he proposed a solution to each of the issues on my list before I even had a chance to mention them to him. His building science knowledge was superior to any of the other contractors, so it was an easy decision to select DES. The work was scheduled promptly, and Harrisonâ  s crew did a great job. They were a well-oiled machine, and the amount of work they accomplished in one day was nothing short of astounding. They put down plastic, swept, vacuumed, and wet-mopped when they were done. The very first night after the work was completed, the temperature differential between the first and second floor was substantially eliminated. The hot spots and cold spots were gone, and the overall comfort of the house was unmistakably improved. I canâ  t wait to watch the long-term energy savings in the years to come. If anything has been bothering you about the energy efficiency of your house, do not hesitate to hire DES to take care of you!

I had alot of crushed ducts and no insulation in my attic. I called alot of companies to first fix the ductwork. When I called Dr. Energy saver, they came out and quoted repairing the ducts then adding foam spray. That was initially not even my intention but after hearing all the advantages of the sealing and the reasonable costs for getting the job done right, sold me. The installers were very professional and polite, and answered every question I had. I would def recommend! I am so happy now that I am only heating my house and not the attic too. They even went above and beyond and sent in energy rebate for me, thank you.
