Don Rohlfs Painting

It couldn't have gone better. The work is done when it says it will be done; there is no cleanup involved by the homeowner -- and, very important: The quality of the work is top-notch. Rohlfs painting exceeds expectations, are easy to work with and, although NOT cheap, are a very good value. We have used them before, will use them again.

The results were fabulous. This team did an excellent job. Their prep work is comprehensive and so the finished walls, when painted, look perfect. We were in the middle of a remodeling the entire second floor of our home and they were so willing to work with us on scheduling, which can be difficult with so many different crews in the house. I recommend them highly and will always use them for future paint jobs!

Don and his team are EXCEPTIONAL! With Don you receive excellent recommendations, honest estimation of work, and follow through on all commitments. I have used other painters, but my last two homes, both interior and exterior, I only trust to Don! Exterior painting usually includes an exceptional team of 4 to 5 painters with constant oversight by Don and his lead Eric. I could not have asked for more polite, appropriate, precise and excellent skilled painters. They always arrived promptly when promised, never got in the way, protected all furniture and outside landscape, left the worksite in immaculate condition daily, offered additional help when noticed (for example helped with a physically disabled family member to enter the house in a wheelchair - even carried 12 heavy boxes [textbooks] to my basement) and were always gracious and respectful. They never entered the house without asking or getting prior permission. I could leave my house without concerns!
He did the interior of my previous home with 2 painters.  All fixtures were removed carefully, cleaned if necessary (and I mean my dust ..not anything they did!) replaced and even repaired if they were not perfect in the first place! Really, where can you get that level of service this day in age?!?!!!!
As noted in other reviews, Don's estimate may seem a bit higher, but in the long run you save with his knowledge of paint, carpentry, a result with decorative and curb appeal as well as QUALITY OF WORK. In addition, I have sought Don out for help and other household issues and have never been let down by his recommendations or support.
Don Rohlf and his wonderful team of painters (Eric, Andrew, Ryan & Mike) deserve the highest accolades! This team is worth waiting for and can be totally trusted!

Don was on-sight at the start of every day and several times during the job to check on his crew's process.  His crew was very professional and friendly.  Don also made sure we were happy with every aspect of the work before completing the job.  His color recommendations were greatly appreciated.

It was good.  We like them.  He does really good work.  He cleaned up when he was finished.

Don and his team are very professional and friendly.  The work is top notch.  I find Don to be very honest and believe the price he charged was fair.  He did come in lowest of three comps for the first job.  SInce then, and going forward, I trust Don to do all our painting.

They met and exceeded our expectations. Don, the owner, was involved throughout the process. The total project covered about four and one half days. His two employees showed up each day as promised, worked a full day with no fooling about. They protected the contingent areas, and cleaned up each day prior to leaving and the final close out include complete clean up and removal of any waste, and a complete inspection with Don Rolfes. 

We couldn't have been happier with the results and can confidently recommend this contractor to anyone.

I have jused Don Rolfs for over 20 years. He is one of the few painters that fully preps the surface so that the paint lasts for years without chipping or cracking. He uses a high grade paint that is easily cleaned. His prices include all materials. His crew arrives promptly, all exposed flooring and furniture is covered, and the job gets finished on time. I highly recommend him and will use him for all my future painting needs.

I wanted to have our exterior shutters painted as a surprise for my husband, who was returning from a long business trip at the end of the week.  Believe me, they were bad!  Faded, peeling paint -- the house looked terrible. Keep in mind that this was on short notice (I called Don on Monday, my husband was returning Friday), and it was late October, when many painters won't do exteriors. 
Don actually answers his phone!  This was already a good sign.  He came out to the house the day I called to assess the situation and give me an estimate.  The estimate was reasonable, especially as it included the price of the paint and power-washing, and the work had to be done on short notice with a week of rain ahead of us.  I also liked that he has a good sense of colour and design, and an eye for detail.  
He, his son, and a couple of other painters came whenever the rain stopped, and finished the job by Friday.  The shutters look GREAT!  The house is no longer the scourge of the neighbourhood!  :-)

Don does excellent work.  He is very meticulous about his work and completes all the extra details that others exclude in their pricing.  Since he usually includes the paint in his quote, he seems high but overall value is excellent.

Gave estimate, did work as promised.  Great clean up post job.  Some would say the cost is a bit higher than others -- but the proof is in the completed job.  Great company to work with!

He was real good but expensive.  He had done some other work for us previously and he was very good about matching things.  He just does incredible matching of paints or paints with another type of fabric that I had trouble matching, so he was just excellent in that.  That time it was $1300 plus something.  This time he wanted to charge me $1300, I told him that was too much, then he asked me how I would like to spend and I told him, and he took it.  He is just very particular with his painting and is a very good painter.  The best thing about him is the quality of his work.  I would advice others to negotiate with him on the price, once they get the estimate, because if it is too high, he might adjust it.

I was familiar with Don Rohlfs Painting after he completed some work for my parents. I had him come over and give me an estimate to paint walls and ceilings in my entry foyer, hallway, living room and dining room. The job was a bit more challenging because I had beams in the ceilings of both my living room and dining room. Don was able to look at the job and give me some great advice on the best way to proceed with the job. My wife and I were also unsure about color, and he was able to give us some excellent advice on the color palette to choose, including painting one wall an accent color. His guys were extremely professional and punctual. They completed all four ares in less than a week, including some extensive caulking around the beams in the ceilings. When he was completed, the colors looked like they had been selected by a designer. My wife and I were extremely happy with the work. We are planning to have him come back and paint other rooms as well.

This painter was working on my neighbor's house and I asked him to come and look at my house.  He is definately a pro.  He listens, solves problems and then makes other recommendations to improve the appearance of the property.  He uses good quality paint too.
