A SHADE BETTER

Tom is a lamp genius. I so appreciate his expertise and was thrilled when he could fix my lamps, particularly one lamp that others had sent me away with no fix. Since it was my first time in his shop, I was also intrigued with his eclectic lamp/shade selection; he has some particularly interesting pieces. I will definitely be visiting again.

Tom and his staff did a great job in helping me select and fit a new shade to my antique lamp restoration project. They have a large selection of shades and lamps from which to choose in a very nice store. Highly recommended!

The lamp was ready the same day I took it in. I was very pleased with the quick service, and I thought the price was very fair. I would definitely recommend A Shade Better and use them again.

I took the lamps to the shop to get an estimate on the work. THe two ladies at the desk were very helpful and walked me through in detail what the repair person would be doing and assessing.
THey made gret notes and were careful to advise me that some items they were listing might not be neccessary but they would not know until they worked on the light which made sense. I liked that they gave me worse case scenerio so I was prepared.
I received a call a week later they were ready for pick up.
When I went in they had them ready and helped me to my car. Both lamps looked great and worked great. They did a great job and were very professional and helpful. While I was waiting one of the woman took a call from someone looking for something they could get cheaper from Home Depot then at the store and that is what they told the person on the phone noting if they could not find what they needed to come in and see them. I thought this was wonderful customer service and would highly recommend them for any lamp repair work you may need in the furture

The service was poor. The price was fair. The punctuality was average but it wasn't done right.

It went very well. Tow days later I got a call that the lamp was fixed. It only needed a new switch. My only complaint was the price. I think that it was high considering what was done to it. However, I wouldn't have the lamp if it wasn't fixed and I couldn't replace it. It was a set price for the repair.

The work done was competent and professional. The gentleman at the desk was friendly to me and cordial to my children. It took a little longer than I had expected for the work to be done, but it was not unreasonable, and the work was done correctly.

Although I was given a week or two time-frame for fixing, they called within a day to tell me the lamp was ready to be picked up. I have other lamps from the same glass/ceramic company that need to be repaired, so I plan to use A Shade Better to fix these also.

The folks at the store were very personable and took their time listening to our explanation of the problem with the lamps. We took one in and were very satisfied with the work performed. We then dropped off the second lamp when we picked up the first one. We used to go to a company in Silverton that went out of business. We are very pleased to know we have found a new business for our lamp repair needs.

The sales person was very helpful and suggested the proper type of cord and socket for this style of lamp. They said it would be finished within a week and they called three days later to say that it was ready.
