Belleza Salon And Spa

I saw a coupon in the paper for 25% off any service for all new clients valid through 2015. So, since the salon is less than ten minutes from my house I decided to try them out. I received an appointment right away.  I didn't have to wait when I got there because I had an appointment at 9:00 am. The salon is bright, spacious and clean. Mary Lynn was polite and personable. I was shown into a room that had OPI polish and choose a color. This was a basic mani-pedi.  I was offered coffee, tea or water. They had the typical chairs that heat and vibrate. There wasn't anything exceptional about the salon that I experienced compared to other salons I have visited in the Streetsboro area. But, it was a pleasant atmosphere.  The problem came when it was time to leave. My nails were still tacky, and I was told to be careful with them for an hour or so. I have had my nails done many, many times and had never left a salon with them tacky. But, I, also, had never had them done with an OPI product.  So, I went home and read a book for several hours. They were still tacky. I had to go to work at 2:30 pm and they were still tacky, and while I was getting dressed for work my toe and finger nails got dinged.  I called the salon and was told that I could get them redone and if I wanted the same person I would have to wait until Monday. This was a Thursday. When I got off from work 12 hours later they were still tacky. By 9:00 am the next morning they were finally dry. When I took my morning shower the polish literally came off in my hair. I sent a text to Stephanie Jenkins the manager and explained all of this to her. I wanted a partial refund for the botched nail color. She said that their policy is to redo the service, and I could have an upgrade to a gel manicure. That was nice except that I have a heart condition. I can't have anything on my fingers that can't be removed immediately at the hospital in an emergency. That was the reason that I didn't get the gel manicure in the first place. Then, she said that they have another line by OPI called Infinite Shine that is long lasting and dries quickly. Why didn't I receive this product when I got the service? I wasn't even informed that there was a better product. I turned this offer down because I was not happy to have been given an inferior polish for a $70.00 service. Anyway, I want to let Angie's list patrons know that they need to ask for the better polish. Also, I received a receipt that only had the total of $59,85 on it. I did request to see it itemized because I thought 25% off should have been lower. So, be sure to ask for an itemized receipt.
