The first time I met Matt Namath, the owner, he was working for another
plumber doing work in our home. It was in 2013. We had requested they
pull out all the PVC pipe in our basement and put in all copper. There
was a section of PVC that ran over a ceiling and he didn't pull down the
tiles. I checked his work and he had run copper up to a 12 foot
section of PVC pipe and then he had attached the copper to the other end
of it. I made him tear out all the PVC and redo the whole job in
copper like we ordered.
Later in 2013 we hired him to fix our upstairs bathtub which was
leaking. He lives nearby and our favorite plumber was booked. Our
ceiling was soaked and started falling down. He went up to our tub and
looked for a service door for the tub. He couldn't find one so he cut a
hole in the wall in the closet next to the bathroom. He then had to go
and left the job. We had to put a bucket under the leak for the
night. The next day our favorite plumber was free and he came over. He
immediately noticed that the whole side of the tub had a panel along it
that was removable. It had handles on it even. He popped it off and
had immediate access to the leaky pipe and he fixed it in minutes. I
then had to pay for a drywaller to fix the hole in the wall in the
closet. We refused to pay Mr. Namath as he did nothing but make a
mess.
3. On 4-22-14 of this year we had a stopped up drain behind our washing
machine in one of our rental houses. Our real estate manager didn't
get the memo stating never to use Mr. Namath's co. and in error she
called him. He worked 2 hours and charged her a whopping $733.53 to
unclog the drain. She was furious. She told him we would never use him
again and we would put him in Angie's list if he didn't lower the
price. He didn't care. She paid it. So here we are. Never use this
co. or Mr. Namath. He's one of the dumbest plumbers we've ever met and
he will rip you off. He needs to be stopped.
