GBR Masonry did an amazing job. We had a large patio and walkway that had cracked mortar and uneven bricks. When they finished two days later, it looked brand new. The original patio was installed in 1941. They did an amazing job of matching the mortar And attending to every detail. We could not be more pleased with the final result!

GBR Masonry (Danielle)services helped us re-design a dated fireplace in our home. Once the planning and materials were in place, their team (Andy, Connor) then carefully and neatly protect our flooring and other furnishings from dust kicked up during demolition. Their expertise allow them to meticulously craft our new stone fireplace surround and mantle. No details are spared. They work as though it was their home. All the while, they listen to you for any input along the way. Thank you GBR team for a beautiful, up to date, fireplace

GBR Masonry does excellent work. Matched new brick to 25 year old brick, mixed grout to have correct color. Left work place cleaner than when they arrived and brick work is messy. I highly recommend GBR Masonry for any brick repairs you may need.

GBR did a great job on a difficult chimney repair. Completely rebuilt the top of the chimney. Were always punctual and professional. Price was as quoted and reasonable. Husband/wife team who are good people. The repair was particularly difficult due to the height of the chimney and slope of the roof. They found the original brick and mortar matches the rest of the fireplace. All 15-20 courses of new brick are straight. Most impressive was care they took with the yard/patio. Plywood was laid down to prevent the lift machine from creating ruts in the yard - no ruts. Also, put everything else back to like new as if they had not been there.

Danielle and Andy were very quick to come and give an estimate for our leaking chimney. They scheduled us quickly since it was an urgent leaking issue and completed the job later in the week. We also appreciated that the cleaned up when the job was completed. Best of all - no more leak!

Outstanding work by great people. Organized and responsive for both the estimate and project. Team was prompt, started right away. Mortar work is clean, level, and matches existing foundation pattern. Left the basement cleaner than how they found it. Even fixed a few loose basement stairs as a courtesy to keep everyone safe. Now that's service!

Danielle and Andy were amazing. They were so knowledgeable and the work they did for us was fantastic! We looked at several providers for our fireplace job and nobody came close to the vision that Danielle and Andy had. They were able to help us with all of the design work (including a new fireplace door) and their craftsmanship was second to none. I would HIGHLY recommend them for any masonry job. We will absolutely be using them again in the future.

Our back patio was in a distressed state and needed some long overdue attention. Being that we live in an older home, it was very important to us to work with a contractor that would appreciate the character of the home and yard and help us achieve the finished product we had envisioned.

I researched several contractors and based on all the positive feedback, I felt most comfortable in contacting GBR Masonry. When I made contact, I explained what I was interested in having done and we set a time for them to come out and take a look so they could provide me an estimate. We scheduled a day and time to meet and they were right on time.

I showed them the patio which had a host of issues. The knee high perimeter brick wall was starting to fail due to moisture getting in over the years and was taking on a slight bow in one area. The sandstone tiles on the ground had separated and several had broken areas that needed replaced. Our idea was to have the wall resurfaced with stone that matched what was installed on the house over 10 years ago with a limestone cap on top. We also wanted to have the sandstone leveled and the cracks filled in with mortar to help even it out and get rid of the dirt in the cracks. Danielle and Andy looked very close at all aspects and took a lot of notes and measurements. They also explained in detail how they would go about repairing and resurfacing the wall. With regard to putting mortar in sandstone tile joints, they explained the reason why that was not a good idea (which I had not even thought of) and presented a great alternative. They suggested that when they reinstall the sandstone tiles (which some are of significant size) after the sub surface had been leveled out and tamped, that they would butt them up to each other, eliminating the wide existing gaps. Then, they would create a couple of inches wide gravel area between the wall and stone on one side of the patio that rain water would flow into to eliminate standing water. They even included drilling and lining some weep channels in the wall for the water to escape.

We were given a very detailed estimate that listed everything out with exact specifics. I really appreciated the in depth description as it left no detail out. We agreed on the scope of the project and set a time for it to commence. When the day arrived, so did they, and they got right into it. Given that they had to order a variety of materials and were dependent on the stone yard to fabricate the materials, there were several weeks from agreeing to the project and it actually starting. I mention this as I had several questions during this time and Danielle got right back to me each time very quickly. We even added a few things that were then incorporated in the final estimate.

When work began the project moved very smoothly and followed what they had laid out. They even numbered the sandstone slabs and made a map to ensure they went back in the same place with the exception of the ones that had to be replaced. In watching them work, it was clearly evident they were more interested in delivering a quality product rather than getting in and getting out to the next job. They cleaned up the site each day before leaving and kept me informed me of the days progress and what was next.

With the job now completed, we could not be more thrilled with the end result.  They did an outstanding job of matching the stone and mortar on the house to the new portion. In fact, one cannot tell the difference giving it the look of always having had been there.

In Summation, it occurred to me about half way through the project that this is much more than a job for them, but rather a passion. It shows in their level of detail, dedication, and competence.  I think I am pretty picky, but they take it a step further. It is like they were doing it for themselves and only would accept the very best. Great experience!

GBR was very professional and punctual.  They went above and beyond what we paid for and expected.  For example our patio pravers were loose on the seating wall and GBX glued down all the stones for us with no charge.  They also re-tucked our front step into the house and basement entrance at no additional cost.  Our Fireplace is more beautiful due to some additional details they added.  We cant thank them enough for the superior job!

Danielle came out to take a look and gave me a quote for the walkway which was comparable with other providers however she did a better job of communicating than some of the other providers who I got quotes from- so I decided to go with GBR. They also gave me a couple of options including re-doing the walkway but we decided to just re-set instead. The quote for some reason did not include filling in the gaps with polymeric sand (which other quotes included) and so the regular sand they used washed away after a heavy rain just a day after the work was done. However they did the right thing and came back and filled the gaps with polymeric sand at no extra cost.
We were also considering having our back patio concrete pad covered with stone or stamped concrete to make it look pretty, eventually decided not to do that but once we looked at the beautiful samples of stone which Danielle brought out, we just had to use it and so we went ahead and had the front porch concrete pad covered in natural stone. They did a great job and it looks very good, we receive a lot of compliments for it.
Danielle and Andy and their crew were very easy to work with and professional at all times. We would use them again.

They were wonderful to work with! Danielle and Andy are very knowledgeable. They had a lot of patience for my many questions and the quality of their work was perfection. Danielle has excellent taste and was incredibly helpful in making our selections in the new brick and design for installation. Communication was consistent, thorough and timely. They were very respectful of our property and it was quite apparent that they cared about their work and my satisfaction with it. I would not hesitate to hire them again and highly recommend them to others.

The brick walkway was in poor condition with much of the brick uneven and separating . And the entire walkway actually had not been laid out perpendicular and square in the first place . And so, to the eye, each of the five landings & steps just did not line up. And this also caused  the original installer to have to cut many small "filler" pieces of brick to make up the difference on each landing. All in all not an attractive or safe walkway.

When I first had a site visit with GBR Masonry, I knew I had the company I wanted. Unlike other contractors whom suggested that their best fix was to simply reset the bricks (dry laid) , GBR really analyzed the situation, told precisely how they would correct the misalignment problem by cutting and re-working the steps, then mortaring the perimeter bricks and then finally dry laying the interior portion of the walkway .The  other really positive thing is that the owners, Danielle & Andy both do the site assessment and roll up their sleeves  and join in on the work too..

So what was the final product like ? ....Amazing !  A great big 10 on the rating scale. These folks are skilled, meticulous and take pride in their work. I didn't think such firms / people still existed . They truly do the work as if were for their own home.

And finally, just watching them work gave me both an appreciation of just how good they are and the realization that the project was far more difficult than I had  imagined. All I can say is if you want the project done right, these are the people for you.

GBR Masonry did an amazing job with our project, which was not easy. In fact, our garage and walls had more problems than anyone expected--and GBR handled it extremely well. The garage front and roof (which is a patio surface) had far more damage than we initially thought, and they were able to remove all the damaged materials and replace it with a beautiful stone surface. The whole project really transformed the front of our home. The company owners were on site and working every day alongside their crew. They started the project on time, kept the worksite clean, and actually finished on time (two weeks), which is miraculous considering the issues we ran into. Communication between the owners and myself was fantastic. And they really made an effort to go the extra mile. Danielle even came out on a Saturday morning to paint our garage door (which was not even part of the job) so that everything looked finished. We had some estimates from others that were a little lower priced, but I can say that we certainly chose the right people to do the job. We are so happy with the work they did and we look forward to using them again for future projects.

All was good technically. They communicated well regarding what to do. They listened to our concerns, desires and suggestions. Since stone removal was done in fall and reinstallation the following spring we assumed the work would be completed in early spring as an unfinished job. They had considered it a new project and scheduled it later. When we told them our disappointment, they listened, agreed with us and moved us to next on the list.

We initially had a mix-up when the wrong stone was delivered to the house, but it was quickly corrected, and the work looks terrific.  We are very happy with the craftsmanship and feel it has increased the value of our house and brought it up to date. They were very hardworking, courteous and adept, and we would happily call on them again.

From the very beginning of when GBR Masonry came out to provide an estimate, they were professional, communicated well and very informative. We had confidence in them straightaway. The estimate was detailed and encompassed a true repair plan, rather than just a quick, temporary fix (which was what was provided by another company). In addition, GBR Masonry was able to provide us a start date for the project, whereas the other company said they would just call ahead a couple days before they were to begin (which allowed us no time to plan accordingly).
GBR came out to begin the project and were punctional. The team begin the project and got into the dismantling of the chimney, they unfortunately encountered a problem...we had bats in the chimney sturcture. (It should be noted that we had found 3 bats (one confirmed rabid) in the house in the past year and 1/2, had the exterminator out twice to try and locate where they were coming in from, but no success...now we knew.) Instead, of saying 'you deal with it, and we'll be back and continue then'...GBR took the bats head on. They went out of the way to assist us in the safe removal of the bats, addressed the problem both outside in the chimney and inside within the house (sealed up any possible openings within the house the length of the chimney). They went above and beyond what they had to or what was expected...just couldn't believe how much they did to help us eradicate the problem.
Once the bats were safely removed, they carried on with the project as planned, and completed everything within a week. The chimney looks fantastic. We had concerns that the new stone would be clearly different in color from the old (which was built in the 1950s), but they matched the kind of stone and color so well. There's almost no difference between the old and new. We now have a safe, bat-free chimney, fantastic looking chimney thanks to GBR Masonry.
I would highly, highly recommend them with no hesitation. Stellar work from GBR Masonry.

From the moment I met Danielle and Andy, I felt very confident and comfortable that every detail would be tended to!  They were very professional, responsive, friendly, reasonably priced, and punctual.  The start date for my project was September 15, 2014 and the entire crew was at my home promptly at 8:30am!  Every day, they  were all consistently on time and worked steadily until the end of the work day.  The estimated completion was scheduled October 3rd and they finished 3 days early!  Their dedication to quality and workmanship was unsurpassed and I would highly recommend them.  I plan on having them return to do some work on my front porch as well!  In gathering estimates for this job, while they were not the lowest bid they were not the highest bid either.  I am so thankful I didn't go with the cheapest because the piece of mind and attention to every detail along with the quality of workmanship can not be stessed enough when you have a large job that will add beauty and value to your most important asset, your home!  Thanks Danielle, Andy and all the guys....we appreciate everything you did for us!

I worked directly with Danielle and everything was so smooth and easy from start to finish.  The estimate and work were all was done in a timely fashion even though this is their busiest time of the year.  They showed up at 8:00am on the dot as scheduled and the work was performed to perfection and was done in one day.  The wall looked even better than it did before it was hit by the car!  There was a garden at the top of the wall, and I was worried that they might have to tear it out to fix the wall, but they managed to save everything growing there.  In addition to the repairs, they also cemented some adjacent rocks that were loose that had nothing to do with being hit by the car..........just had come loose from age.  They really went above and beyond the call of duty and did it all with a personal touch.  I would recommend them in a heart beat.  They deserve their Super Service Award.
