I think that the thing that stood out was the design work. They did a good job on design work and making suggestions on the design.

Dave and his crew came on time and mulched, weeded, trimmed and moved garden rocks. They cleaned everything up.

The initial work on the retaining wall was performed in late April (I think), perhaps one week after we ordered the services. The other services were performed (understandably) to work around the rains were having this spring.
We are very happy with every aspect of the retaining wall itself and the other work that was performed.
The one key problem here in the working relationship is that I paid Dave in full for the job when he was "almost done", but he took almost exactly four weeks from that point to actually complete the wall job. This includes filling in a gap in the wall and adding to the wall's level in some spots.
After I paid him, I left several voice messages over the course of the next three weeks and we touched base endlessly, but nothing was getting done, and he claimed several times to be coming out that day but no show. We were having a party at our house and my wife wanted our guests to see our nice new wall, and we almost did not see the wall get completed by the time of this gathering.
What I really didn't appreciate was David telling me at one point that workload from his current clients would not "allow" him to get out very quickly to complete the job. HELLO, we are ALSO your current client until you complete your job.
And I know that landscape work is usually not time critical stuff, but I felt like we got a run around.
I'd still use him again and I still recommend him but he gets a deserved D for responsiveness for this particular issue and he really should know and do better.

We hired David in the off season to qualify for a winter rate. Though it went slowly we were in no hurry as we could not use patio until Spring. He was very good about cleaning up after the project was completed. We would use David again on other projects.

David and his guys turned my jungle backyard into a thing of beauty. I didn't have much idea about what to do, but David made many suggestions and provided more/less expensive alternatives. I went for the less expensive, as my budget was somewhat limited. It took a couple of trips for everything to get done. He made the waterfall in the backyard run continuously (it had previously had a remote on/off which had disappeared long ago). It can be manually turned off, but until the frosts come, I like having it on. He selected plants and shrubs and placed them well. He worked within my budget and did an amazing job.

VERY GOOD WORK ESPECIALLY WITH STONE WORK. INEXPENSIVE IF USED OVER WINTER MONTHS WHEN THEY ARE SLOW. FOLLOWUP WITH ISSUES AFTER THE JOB IS COMPLETED IS NOT THE BEST, BUT PROBABLY NORMAL. ALSO GOOD AT HELPING TO WORK THROUGH VARIOUS OPTIONS & IDEAS
