PENDRAGON HOMES

The finishing of the home (paint, trim, dry wall seams) was poor quality. We asked Pendragon to repaint the exterior of the home and fix the nail pops and other interior blemishes before the closing. They repainted the exterior of the house; but advised us that the interior defects would be addressed one year after closing as more of these items would likely appear. Indeed, they did, including more nail pops, peeling paint, dry wall separating at the seams, and loose floorboards. When we contacted them for service, they did not return phone calls and disclaimed any responsibility to provide any post sales service. We contacted them shortly after the closing to report that we could not get the gas fireplace to work. They advised us that they contractor was out of business and did not offer any help. We hired someone on our own to fix it. They claim that they have no responsibility for post sale service since they purchased a "home warranty" policy on our behalf. None of these issues were covered by the policy. I have purchased newly constructed homes from both Drees, in Northern Kentucky, and Kensington Homes, a small builder in Cleveland, who are both far superior to Pendragon in their customer service.
