He showed up and we signed a contract and paid him half. We never heard from him after that. Lots of examples that he takes money. Scammer.

Mike Miller showed up without a contract for the work he was going to do. He took a $500 deposit to order the windows and gave a receipt. He said he walked out the door in the morning without the paperwork he needed. He was going to start the next day but that morning texted to let me know that his supplier did not have the windows needed and they would have to be ordered and it would take two weeks for them to come in. Okay, no problem. In two weeks I call, text and email him over a five day period to find out when the windows would be in. He does not reply. Apparently he was out of town. After finally getting connected with him and find out the windows need another week to come in. Again, no problem. Aweek later I try to get ahold of himand his phone is disconnected temporarily. A couple days later I got a hold of his wife finally and she filled me in that he was in the hospital. Okay, again no problem if he would just call to let me know. In the five weeks he has had so far to complete the work he has told me three times he would call the window company and call me back. He did not call me and I had to contact him. He has given us three dates he would be there and did not come any of those days or call to tell us he would not be there. He insists he is a "legit" contractor but has no communication skills at all. His emails and texts are garbled up grammar failures. Hard to understand. He has promised several times that he would return the deposit because after the first time he ordered the windows, they did not come in when he told us they would. He said it would be another week. After that week he said the wrong windows came in. Another two weeks to wait. That would bring the project to 6 weeks just to get the windows. I had enough. He was supposed to be there today with the return of the deposit and was a no show no call again. This has been a nightmare. I have emailed and texted sooo many times and have lost my cool a few times. I can't help it. I have never seen such an inept show of businessmanship. I do believe he is legit and maybe bit off more work than he can chew. I don't believe the window company took three weeks and then shipped the wrong ones. I think he was stalling maybe so he could finish other work. I will never know. I do know for a fact that I can order these windows and and have them in a week from a reputable window company here in Columbus and two weeks from Home depot or Lowes. His price was going to be reasonable. He does not answer my calls or texts. He is pretty much sick of me but when someone ignores me and does me wrong I don't just sit around and wait. I have given him several chances to continue the job but he does not get it done. I sit here typing this to let other people know to stay away. If you do contract with him then stay on top of him, though he will get annoyed and probably treat you like he has treated me. I am not expecting anything from him but a timely job that is done right. Six weeks to get windows in and ready for the job is crazy. Not telling us he is not showing up that day is crazy. Doing that over and over is stupid. His website shows that he has BWC Insurance and he does not. I checked with the BWC one day that I could not get a hold of him and his phone had been disconnected. I was trying to find out anything I could about him and his company because I honestly felt I had been scammed. It does not appear that he is a scammer, just someone that does not know the first thing about customer service. When he came to take the deposit we stood and talked about how many scammers there are on Craigs List (where I found him). He knew from the start I was worried about being scammed yet he ignored my attempts to get a hold of him and to get a date he would come replace the windows. I was understanding about the windows taking a week extra to order. I was understanding to his health problems but when the wrong windows came in that was enough and I asked for the money back. This was a time sensative project due to HUD rules and he is holding up other work (wall repair and painting) around the windows. He keeps saying he is giving the deposit back but actually told me "I could be a dick and keep the money, but I won't". I don't know how he could think he would be able to after sending emails and texts promising he would return the money. He had no signed contract for the job and he has shown through his emails and texts that he has ignored us many times. Any judge in samll claims court would laugh him out of his courtroom. So, here I sit on the day he said he would return the money and now he says he will return it in four more days. There is money in escrow for the place the windows are needed that won't be released until the windows are replaced (HUD). He is holding a deposit hostage and holding up other work on the place. I am looking for another window company to do the work. I am assuming he will pay the deposit back but I am so unhappy the way he has wasted the past five weeks of my time. I have spent hours trying to find out more about him and his company and hours trying to get a hold of him and hours stressing out over this whole ordeal. I don't know. If you hire him I sure hope it goes better for you. I will be so glad to close this chapter of my life. He is very disrespectful and just does not appear to know the least bit about customer service and communication. I actually joined Angies List just so I could leave feedback on this guy. Best $25 I spent all year if it helps one other person.
