Overall, I think I like the owner/operator and, particularly for tank pumping I think they're very efficient and give good service. However, it was challenging. I'd had a (very bad) 'landscape' contractor who'd damaged the septic-tank lift-pipe that feeds out to the leach field, as well as possibly damaged my leaching beds (that's another story). I reached out to Elite about it. I have an out-of-area cell# having recently moved full-time to OH, and Elite didn't answer the phone to me, and didn't call back even though I'd left a message. I kept trying and eventually got a pick-up. I was explaining the awful disaster the landscaper had left me with, and I think the Elite owner didn't understand, because he became very, very hostile, and then oddly said I should probably get someone else - I managed to communicate in the end that I wasn't defending the landscaper or his competence/knowledge, but that I was trying not to get caught in a fight over what he'd done, and Elite agreed to fix the pipe. They cancelled, I think twice, and then eventually came late one evening and started work. The owner works hard and his girlfriend assists him, and it seems to me that they work long hours juggling many people's work trying to keep up - kudos for the work ethic. They put-in a new pipe, and it works, and I was happy with the work, and having had a chance to talk with them face-to-face, I like the owner of Elite, I think he's a genuine guy. Some problems though: They'd had to cut through two drainage pipes to put in the new sewer line, and while he replaced a section of one, he said he'd come back and wanted to put-in a 'clean-out' on the other intersection, and he was going to do it 'for free', and so left the 3ftx3ftx2ft hole in the yard. He'd also put-in an inverted U-section of pipe in the lift-station of my septic tank, so as to raise the pump removal wire higher, but I found that a joint on that pipe is failing, bleeding effluent whenever the pump activates. He also smashed the switch-box riser diffing the trench. It's been two months now and, although I'd called them four-or-so times, they never did come back and put-in the 'clean-out', and I had to repair that drainage pipe and back-fill the hole myself. They also never fixed the U-pipe he installed, and that joint will, eventually, fail completely of course - that's perhaps the most disappointing part, because I'll probably then end-up with an emergency call-out to repair what was, after all, a change to the piping that Elite did as a 'precaution' and wasn't actually required for laying the new lift-pipe. I know they've driven-by at least because while I was away they dumped a replacement switch-box riser on my grass, but didn't install it. So, mixed feelings. For sure, I would have Elite come and pump my tank, and maybe even install some inspection rise-hatches we'd talked about. I decided that I like the contractor and I appreciate his passion for doing sewer work right and not having cowboys touch your system. But I'd be lying if I said the finishing was satisfactory, because honestly it isn't. I think I just wish that he'd not said he was going to do things he never 'had time' to come back an do, so I knew I had to take care of them, and I wish he'd not put-in the u-section 'for convenience' if it was then going to be left in this state of inevitable failure. So, mixed feelings.
