The roof began leaking last year but phone calls to Cole went un-returned. In January of this year, we had to have the sewer tie in redone because Cole's sub contractor used substandard parts and did not put the clean out above ground. Again phone calls went unreturned. This week we lost electricity in our home which we found out was due to the wiring not being up to code during the home addition phase. January 2013: New sewer tie in and put clean out above ground $1700 April 2013: New main outside electrical box $1000 April 2013: Estimate to correct all of the wiring previously done wrong $2000 which includes a ground wire that was never installed April 2013: Repair leaky roof and correct substandard work that is causing it to leak $1400 We contacted BBB but Cole did not respond to the complaint. Phone calls have gone unreturned. When the addition was completed, we asked for copies of the inspections but Cole said he would keep them. The electrical contractors who have come out to give estimates said the work was not up to code and should never have passed inspection. We should have pushed for inspection records as the city says they did not have a building department at that time so we're not clear on who completed the inspections. All 5 roofers who have come out to give estimates have all said the roof was not completed properly and the incorrect valley installation as well as trying to seal away problems is what is causing the leaks now. It is very unfortunate that Cole is unresponsive because he genuinely seemed like he cared about doing a good job and customer satisfaction. We would have like to work with him on this issue but phone calls have not been returned. His workmanship is causing us thousands of dollars.
Description of Work: Cole constructed a home addition for us 7 years ago which included a roof that is now leaking. The roof continually leaked after construction then two years ago Cole put on an entire new roof which is now leaking. A brand new entire roof should not be leaking within two years. The construction phase was fine, however, we are now finding out that the workmanship was not up to code and substandard material was used as well as reusing old parts that should have been replaced. Wear and tear on a house is acceptable, however, every contractor we have had come out for repair estimates have all said that if the work would have been done correctly and using industry acceptable materials we would not be having all of these problems now. Three major major areas of concern: 1. New sewer line tie in 2. Electrical work 3. Roof
