Buckeye Bed Bug Detection, LLC
About us
Based near Columbus Ohio, we provide independent bed bug detection services in Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, throughout Ohio and the Midwest by our nationally certified bed bug detection team including Ollie, our bed bug detection beagle. In a study performed by the University of Florida, a certified bed bug detection dog has a 97% likelihood of finding the infestation and is capable of searching a room in a couple of minutes, while even a well trained pest control specialist only has roughly a 30% chance of finding a bed bug infestation and their search of the same room could take up to an hour. Buckeye Bed Bug Detection's goal is to save you time, money as well as the environment while assisting with your bed bug ordeal. As Ohio's premier canine bed bug detection team, our bedbug scent detection specialist is a beagle named Ollie who was rescued from an animal shelter and trained at J&K Canine Academy in High Springs, Florida by the renowned Jose "Pepe" Peruyero, a retired K-9 police officer who has been scent training dogs for 18+ years. Their bed bug detection dogs are trained to detect the scent of live bed bugs and viable bedbug eggs, not dead bugs, fecal matter or cast-off skins. As part of their standard training procedures, their canines (including Ollie) detect live bed bugs and bedbug eggs on a daily basis and are capable of detecting as little as one adult bed bug or bedbug egg. After completion of their training at J&K Canine Academy, Ollie and his handlers passed the certification testing to become a nationally certified bed bug detection team. We are here to assist you with your potential/confirmed bed bug infestations throughout Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Kentucky. Our bedbug detection services are very discreet and all records are kept confidential. Our bedbug detection vehicles are unmarked and the bedbug dog handlers wear plain, casual clothes, free of logos or branding and bring the bedbug dog inside using a special travel kennel which looks like a duffel bag. Once the requirements of our Pre-Inspection Checklist have been met, our K9 bedbug detection team can search any type of building, vehicle or object for bed bugs. If they are found, we will gladly work together with your exterminator or pest control company to ensure you the best possible service. Each inspection is different and pricing varies based upon building type, size, working hours and travel time. Give us a call today for a free quote and we would be happy to answer any and all of your questions!

The dog identified several places in our home where there were supposedly bedbugs.
This sent our family into crises. We nearly spent $2000 on treatment.
However, fortunately a different company that treats bedbugs did a thorough inspection of our home and found no evidence of bedbugs. He stated that it would be wrong for his company to treat our home. He also pointed out that any dog detection should be followed up with a visual inspection to confirm the presence of bedbugs - which Buckeye did not provide.
Five weeks later and after plenty of searching we are convinced that we never had a bedbug problem.
I contacted the owner via Angie's List about getting a refund, since the inspection did more harm than good for our family. We did not receive a reply.
