I had a non-functioning 9 HP snow blower that my son gave to me when he went overseas with the Army several years ago.  I have never used it until now and could not get it started. Alternative Repair & Service is just a few blocks from my house.  I looked them up on Angie's list and was pleased to see some good ratings.  I called them and was told they could pick it up at a certain time.  It was picked up at that time and I was told there were about 40 other snow blowers ahead of me so it might take 3 weeks or so.  I was in no hurry at the time and said  that was OK.  I did not ask for an estimate or even ask what pickup and delivery cost.  In less than 3 weeks I got a call and a prompt delivery.  He showed me how easily it now started, explained the repairs they had done and gave me some maintenance and storage tips.  He was on his way in less than 10 minutes.  The pickup and delivery cost $15. There was no attempt to take advantage of me as a snow blower neophyte or to take advantage of the fact that I had not asked for an estimate.  I was very pleased with the service and the price.

Service provider came to pick up my lawn mower for repair, but was able to find problem with lawn mower at my residence. It was a simple issue, but he took the time to look at the lawn mower before deciding to take the mower to the shop at no charge. I was very impressed. He was very professional and as previously stated it took only just 5 minutes to figure out the problem, but I appreciate what he did. I will use this company in the future and would recommend them to others.

Theyt picked it up and returned it for a reasonable cost (15.00). Diagnosed the problem (bad gas) and performed a tuneup- replace spark plug, test run the blower. Very good service, pleasant to deal with and reasonable cost. Will definitely use again. LOVE that they pick these beasts up and return them.

Had our basic, 6- year old MTD push lawnmower serviced when it failed to start . Of course, it happened at the beginning of the season when everyone gets a tune-up, so the turnaround was more than a week (as expected.) I gave a and quot;Band quot; rating because it was a and quot;Goodand quot; experience. I would definitely go back to them and recommend them to anyone who needs their lawn equipment serviced.

Excellent. They were thorough, friendly and the machine runs GREAT! Starts with first pull of the cord. They took it out of my car and loaded it in. Completed the whole she-bang in 5 days.

Everything went very well. They have well maintained items. They are inexpensive, and they reserved the items for me. They are a small town, family owned shop.

They showed me the problem, and let me know the gas I was using wasn't good for the blower. They let me know where to get gas that was compatible with the blower.

The price was B range, but the service was A+! They got my lawn mower to start on the first pull, which it has never done in the history of mankind!

Brian and Bruce do great work and are very accommodating. Their prices are very reasonable. I have them service all of my power equipment and also rent equipment when needed.

They were very polite, and we felt their price was more than fair. The mower seems to be running well since the service and the blades are definitely sharpened! However, they were incredibly busy, and we did not get our mower back when they promised it (it took them about 4 days longer than they had promised).
