Jim came out to my house the same day I called. We had found a couple bed bugs in my daughters room and wanted to know if the situation was serious. He gave her bed and all the other beds in our house a quick look over and didn't find anything that would suggest that we had an infestation. He seemed to think it was just something she might have brought home from a friends house. He really reassured me and debunked all those terrifying myths you read about on the internet. He could have suggested that we treat her entire room or the entire house for that matter, I would not have known the difference. But instead he was honest about the severity of the situation and didn't even charge me for the assessment. Awesome guy!!

After having a house guest several months ago, we spotted a couple of bed bugs. We had Jim come with his bed bug dog, Lizzie. They investigated the entire house and found nothing. Several months later, the same house guest came and left behind these little monsters in the guest room. Jim came and set bed bug traps around our bed, so we wouldn't be midnight snacks for the little monsters. Then, Robert (his associate) came and steam treated the guest room and sprayed the guest room, our bedroom, the hallway and living room baseboards. He also put powder in the couches. All the time, both gentlemen were very friendly and educational. They informed us about the "dos and dont's" of worrying when it comes to bedbugs. The cost for the dog inspection was either $120 or $125 (I can't remember) the traps (4 bedpost traps and 5 CO2 traps) was $80. The chemical and heat treatment was $125. I would NEVER go with anyone else. These guys were great and I actually feel like I'll be able to sleep peacefully tonight! Finally!

My wife found a bed bug and freaked out. We found bed bug dog on Angie's list and after reading reviews we decided to call Jim. He was as advertised. Very friendly and very thorough. He and his dog both inspected the whole house separately and found no bugs. He also gave us a demonstration on how his dog would have reacted if she would have found any. ,Our nightmare started when I saw a small reddish bug crawling in a laundry basket while I was putting laundry in from one of the kids rooms. I scooped it up and showed my husband, who researched it online. We were both sick when we saw an exact match on a bedbug site. Immediately, we began searching the house! We looked in every room, washed EVERYTHING in every closet, and finally found some evidence in one of our kids rooms. Overall it was a very, very good experince.   He is a pro who knows his job and is very up-front with his clients regarding his capabilities, expections to be achieved from the treatments he applied and provided many recommendations as to how we can prevent any fiuteure bed bug visits.

Jim first came into my home to perform a visual inspection for bed bugs.  Unfortunately, he did find one bed bug and killed it.  After the visual inspection was completed, his beautiful dog, Liz, came in to inspect and found no other "hits" indicating any other bed bugs. Jim provided a lot of information about bed bug behavior.  He has thoroughly researched this area, and he has contact with many of the experts in this field.  Jim and his services are a lifesaver. The bed bug epidemic and the hysteria surrounding it are scary. We are blessed in this area to have someone like Jim available to address the problem in a calm, intelligent manner should you have bed bugs. Jim takes care of the problem and makes you realize that it is not the end of the world as the media and some pest control companies would like us to believe.

This is something we always heard about, but never thought it could happen in our house. How wrong we were, but we certainly know we'll never buy used furniture again.
He came around 11:30 a.m. and spent several hours exterminating. He told us that the source (something we suspected) was the couch which was loaded with bedbugs. We had bought this couch used from Aaron's who said they routinely sanitize the furniture they sell.  The bedbugs had spread throughout a couple of the bedrooms, but mostly in the couch. He told us that he was not going to charge us and was giving the check($695) back to us, because we needed a more extensive treatment. We thought we should pay something, but he refused to take it. He gave us the name of this other company. He said we should get rid of the couch and offered to dispose of it. He suggested we call Aaron's. We did and decided to have them (Aaron's) pick it up, because it was their responsibility. He thought this was a good idea. He told us to get rid of any comforters that had been on the couch and beds.

Jim arrived at the appointed time and was pleasant and professional.  I had located some bugs in my home which I feared may be bed bugs.   He questioned where I found the bugs and why I felt they were  bed bugs.  Should be noted that I work in a profession which might provide exposure to carrying them home.  I saved bugs for him to evaluate.  He immediately advised that we do not have bed bugs but some other little visitors which could be easily exterminated.  As his specialty is bed bugs, Jim advised that calling an exterminator this spring would take care of the problem.  Jim provided much education (including a small container with two sample bugs) and demonstrated where we could easily identify a bed bug problem should concerns exist in the future.  He also went into great depth explaining measures which can be taken to insure that we don't bring the little fellas into our home when traveling, working, etc.  Websites for further education needs and available products were also identified. 

When I initially called Jim, he advised that his charge would be $125.  After spending an hour with me, he said that I didn't owe him anything since I didn't have a bed bug problem.  However, I insisted on paying the afore-mentioned charge as  it was worth the peace of mind and the education.  Would call him again in an instant if we ever have a legitimate problem (which I would now be able to accurately identify). 

We were afraid we might have bedbugs due to a few bites my huband had, and recent company that said they had stayed in a "yucky" hotel on the way.  I surely wanted someone experienced and honest, but didn't want to spend a fortune on a pest control company or detection device, hoping the answer was no to having the bugs.After searching futilly online trying to determine reliability/honesty, I turned to Angie's list, and called Jim Ross, the owner of Dayton's Bedbug Dog.  He told me upfront on the phone it would be $89 for the dog to inspect, and he would do a visual inspection as well.  We were relieved to find out that we did not have bedbugs; Jim also showed me how to check visually and some other tips on avoiding bedbugs.  When he was ready to bring his dog in, he asked that we go outside so the dog would not be distracted.  He had told us on the phone to put our cat in a bathroom during the visit, for the same reason.  I am so glad I used Jim's expert services!

The gentleman arrived promptle at 8:30am in an unmarked car. He did a thouough inspection of my father's home.  HE FOUND NO BEDBUGS!  He spent a great deal of time talking to my 93 year old father and showed him pictures of what to look for.  He told my dad where bedbugs normally bite, and that my dad's rash was not related to bedbugs. My father called me as soon as the inspector left to say how friendly and helpful the gentleman was.  Both my father and I were greatly relieved.  The inspector then called me on my cell phone. He again said, he found no evidence of bedbugs.  He said that he showed my dad pictures of what to look for, and explained how bedbugs were normally transmitted.  He said he did not know what the rash my dad was, but that it was not from bedbugs.  I asked what the charge would be, and he again said  "nothing".   The gentleman drove all the way from Centerville to Preble county, a distance of over 30 miles one way. We live in a day and age where I have to be constanly vigilant of unethical people who will take advantage of the elderly.  It is refreshing to find a business that will go above and beyone, which the Bedbug Dog certainly did, in their customer service skills, but is also extremely ethical. I would highly recommend this business!

At first, I didn't believe the $435 price. The competitors were $1,000. Maybe there would be recurrences, and this was the first installment ? We are now 3 months out, no recurrences. Jim also gives a 90 day guarantee. Then, I was very impressed with his approach. It is based on the phases of the life cycle. Similiar to chemotherapy. He first "debulks", physically gets rid of-, and NUKES with high intensity chemical,/no survivors.Then he uses his chemicals in a sequence that is designed to hit any emerging second generation of nymphs 7-10 days later with growth retardants, reproduction inhibitors and physical barriers to the blood meal/host- me). etc. He is interested in and has used organic approaches such as dicotamous earth. This guy has THOUGHT about it. He tries to call entemologists. Dr Orkin is $50 for 15 minutes. He is engaged about the oncoming epidemic ,the community and state groups responding. Jim is truly passionate about bed bugs. He lives it. Ask him anything- it will come back to bedbugs. He takes a few from the scene before treating, to keep Liz "fresh". She can smell them through plastic, capped bottles etc. He has marketing experience (selling commercial phone systems to companies),exterminating experience and this is the profession he has chosen to be self employed in . His language was professional, informative, carefully pre selected " spritz this around the ankle". Yet he always listened, never commented, always understood how devastating this is, how much of an upheaval it is. I could call him now three months later, I feel he would remember, be interested because of the way he referred to his other customers. This was the best person to have. I'm so glad my friends heard about Dayton's Bed Bug Dog on the local news. I feel like he was a friend, or a physician who understood, and could deliver the goods professionally.
