King's Auto Repair

My son goes to Kent and we are out of town. He took his car to an other auto shop for overheating and after getting a new radiator, new water pump, new timing belt, replacement of spark plugs and wires, the engine was running rough (new problem) though the overheating was taken care of. I took the recommendation on Angie's list and asked him to take it to King's Auto. My aggravation with the other place was through the roof, and Rich at King's was awesome. He went through the whole car and found we had a hairline crack on the head gasket. The other guy did $800 in repairs and didn't know this. Rich fixed some of the other guys work so the car will run for the time being. He was very knowledable and I was more than impressed. I was so thankful!

I like their honesty, and I would continue to use their services. I have been using them for fifteen years now.

Richard King is great! My daughter is a student at Kent State. Her car would not start. She had the car was towed to King's Auto Repair. Richard was able to get the car started and after checking the systems determined that the battery was dead and would not hold a charge. He then called the local auto parts store and told them that he was sending my daughter over and to install a battery for her. He charged nothing for his time and service, and even had the auto parts store discount the battery to us. I failed to mention that this was all going on while I was in Europe and Richard took the time, and expense, to call me there to let me know everything was being handled. He has earned my respect, trust and my business.

He puts you completely at ease. He is not going to do any work there that doesn't need to be done. One hundred percent honest and straight forward. Just appreciate his transparency and honesty.

Everything went well as usual. Richard is very personable and does a great job of finding cost-effective solutions to problems.

Mr. King is the most honest mechanic you will ever meet. I first went to King's Auto on a friend's recommendation for a second opinon 5 1/2 years ago after a local tire place told my husband and I that we both needed new brakes on our cars when we brought them in for oil changes (despite no squeaking, etc.) Mr. King looked at our cars (for no charge) and assured us that we both had lots of life left in our brakes - and we did (MANY MANY MANY months). Mr. King is always willing to take a look at my car and tell me if a noise etc. is something that I need to worry about/get fixed or if it's something that is harmless/will not affect functioning of the car. There have been MANY times when I brought my (previous) car in thinking it needed work, and Mr. King sent me away with no charge, telling me (accurately) that there either wasn't a real problem or that it was a problem that would be expensive to fix (e.g. power window stopped working) and he would recommend against it given age of the car, etc. When something did need fixing, Mr. King always worked on my car promptly and got work done quickly. Now that I have a new car we visit less, but I still bring it in for oil changes, etc. Mr. King has a photographic memory (seriously, not just an expression) and he remembers everything about you and your car history. Prices are a little more expensive then some other mechanics, but I am willing to pay bc I know work will be done well and I know that I NEVER get told that I need something done on my car that I don't.

Richard King is excellent. He is a terrific person. His shop is always busy though. I don't remember the cost, but it was very modest. His price is very good and is probably around 50 or 55 dollars. His service is excellent. He has got a shop and he works hard. He is a very congenial fellow. I can't imagine anything that he can't fix. I did bring one thing in. It was a problem for him, but he made sure that he got it fixed right. We certainly will continue with him.
