DENNIS FLOOR SANDING AND REFINISHING

Unfortunately his assistant who laid the flooring, was unwilling to come back to finish the job. We had to hire someone else to complete the job. Also, we gave the assistant $200 upfront to complete the final phase of the job and he never returned our phone calls and he kept the money. When we contacted Dave Dennis he took no responsibility for his assistant's behavior. Additionally Dave Dennis said he would come back and touch up a few spots on our wood floor after we moved into our house. We have left many VM messages for him and to no avail has he called back. Sadly we have a few nicks in the front foyer and really wanted him to complete the job as he said he would.

Dennis Floor Sanding and Refinishing did a terrific job. We bought an older home and needed new flooring downstairs. Dave's connections are with a local lumber mill that has the reputation as one of the highest quality mills in the midwest. We got beautiful 3/4and quot; hardwood flooring for a very reasonable price. Dave's associate Randy, who is an excellent carpenter, installed the flooring beautifully despite the quirks of the subflooring and the lack of 90deg angles in our 100-year old house.
The upstairs flooring was scratched and painted, and other companies insisted it wasn't repairable. Dave insisted it was do-able, that this was his expertise, and he was right! After sanding and refinishing, our floors are gorgeous, and there are no issues with nails popping up as others had warned would happen after sanding.
Dave uses 4 rather than 3 coats of finish, and our floors are smooth and lovely. He really prides himself in his work and is easy to work with. He's quite confident of his abilities for good reason - we couldn't be happier.

The price was reasonable and was less expensive than other quotes. He was able to get the work done quickly and he was reliable.

Excellent experience overall. Mr. Dennis was easy to work with and took great pains in both the sanding and finishing. We are VERY pleased.

The price seemed fair and the man that came out was personable. We have a lot of flooring so it was just too much money and we didn’t do the project. I appreciate that their estimates are free.

He was fabulous. He also did my daughters' floors. He is very good. He filled the holes and he made a gouge look like the real wood.

Although Dave was a week late in starting our floors because he did extra work for a previous customer, he also agreed to do extra work for us. He does all the work himself. He knows a lot about wood (he recognized that we had 2 different kinds - and colors - of oak floors, which we had never noticed). He is professional and takes a lot of pride in his work. He cleans up after himself and apologized profusely that one of his machines was not working correctly and thus we had more dust than he would have normally anticipated. We were able to walk on the floors after 7:00 pm each evening, which enabled us to still live in our house while the project was on-going.

DAVE WAS VERY EASY TO WORK WITH. HE ALWAYS CLEANED UP AT THE END OF THE DAY, AND TRIED TO MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR US TO USE THE FLOORS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, EVEN DURING THE WORK DAYS. HE COVERED THE DOORWAYS. HE IS VERY DETAIL-ORIENTED AND CAREFUL. HIS LOVE FOR THIS KIND OF WORK SHONE THROUGH, AND HE OPENLY ENJOYED THE TRANSFORMATION OF OUR FLOORS. HE IS VERY BUSY, AND THUS VERY HARD TO REACH (HE HAS NO OFFICE/SECRETARY,) AND IT TAKES PERSISTENCE TO REACH HIM BY PHONE.
