Met the builder for the first time at a model home of their's in Solon. Jon Russell and his son-in-law Joe met with me and my wife in their model home in Hudson twice following our initial meeting. We had our search narrowed down to them and one other builder, which we openly shared with them. We were simply in the process of shopping builders to see who was the best fit. Jon Russell did some preliminary floor plan drawings for us and he then agreed to put a more detailed proposal together for us. We scheduled a meeting for the following Sunday. On the Saturday afternoon, prior to our Sunday meeting time, Joe called and said the drawings were not completed and said they would be emailed to us within the next few days. We agreed to meet again after receiving the drawings. He was unapologetic about cancelling our meeting with less than 24 hours notice which bothered us, but not quite enough to exclude them from consideration. The drawings never arrived and they never called us to explain, much less apologize. Haven't heard from them since. I would caution readers to be careful about investing time with them based on our experience of being given the impression that they were trying to earn our business to, without incident, being completely blown off. With word-of-mouth being such an important source of referrals in that business, their behavior is puzzling. It's great to have a forum like Angie's so that not only can we tell the people we know about this ridiculous experience, but we can serve countless others by advising that they avoid this builder.
