CALLAHAN'S CARPET ONE

Everyone we worked with was pleasant and knowledgeable about the products they sell. We decided to use LVT in most of our new home due to the information provided by Larry as to the way it would hold up to traffic and a dog. We are very happy with the tile installation, as the installers were very professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Our bathroom, kitchen, and tiled dog shower all look amazing. I would recommend Callahan's to anyone who is seeking a professional, knowledgeable, and honest flooring company.

I hate to give a bad review because I believe the sales person I dealt with was great. What I have a problem with is the ownership. I feel it is my civic duty as a customer to let other people know how you will be treated so that you can avoid what we had to deal with. On 2-1-18, my girlfriend and I put down a deposit of $5,000 on $10,700 worth of carpet to be installed on 2-7-18, 2-8-18 and 2-9-18. All was supposed to be done Friday 2-9-18 but they called us on 2-7-18 to say that because of snow they needed to delay installation a day. Life happens, I get that, and you know I would not have a problem with that if they made it right, but the owner has been rude and disengaged about it. I have a 1,200-pound multi-gym in my downstairs that needed to be moved along with what movers were moving. The gym takes about 4 or 5 hours to put together, so I called the place that installed my gym to schedule them to install it in my new home on 2-10-18 (a full 24 hours after carpet was to be completely installed). I own a duplex that I live in and I have a renter who was going to move in, in 1 week. I was going to move out of my place on 2-10-18 and spend a week getting the unit ready for the new tenant so they could move in. I told ownership I wanted a credit on the installation because I was going to have to wait a week to move in. The sales person referred me to the owner and 24 hours later he finally e-mailed me back at 4:45pm on 2-9-18 to tell me… Good news, you can move into your home we have everything done except for the basement and the steps, we will have that done by noon on Saturday (2-10-18). Two problems with this. 1.) I had someone scheduled from the gym to install my gym in the morning of 2-11-18 but since Wed he told us the carpet would be delayed till Saturday, I moved this to the next Saturday. 2.) You literally gave me notice of this 15 minutes before the gym office closed so I could not call to get them rescheduled for Saturday, even if I wanted to. The fitness store generally requires a week in advance to schedule the install. Since my gym is stuck in my downstairs for another week, I am losing out on rental income and I am inconvenienced. I have spent almost 2 decades in the multi-family world where I have literally hired and had hundreds of carpet installs done before residents move in. I have never had a carpet company that could not get it done before a resident moved in. Why? Because rental income would be lost. My girlfriend wanted to use Callahans because she liked the family sound of the place and felt like they would have better carpet. I am a reasonable person, life happens. The owner blew off my request for a credit for being delayed. I mean I scheduled my move and the equipment based on a scheduled they set up. Ironically on the day he said his crew slid into a ditch I had 3 carpets installed at one of my properties by a company called rite rug and they didn’t delay the move in for residents. I mention this because when you go to buy carpet, you are probably waiting to move in to a place. You schedule vendors or movers based on this and to be blown off on this, very unprofessional. Had I read a review like this, I would not have selected them. Again, I am reasonable some… any effort to make it right would been good but he just said… Oh you can move in now. Well you know I can’t because my gym is huge and can’t be moved. Its not like the carpet install people could move the gym put down the carpet then move it back on. I just felt the owners response was very cavalier, they did not deliver things on a timely manner and as a result I want a credit for failure to deliver service in the agreed upon manner. I made it to work in the snow, most of us do. Fine, a guy had an accident then as the owner, make it right. I would not recommend this place for carpet because if they have a delay then you are up…… the creek as they just don’t care. I feel bad because Sandi, the salesperson was awesome, I give her 5 stars but her employer MR Callahan, I have ZERO stars and unfortunately, he was the one to make that call. I hope he doesn’t treat her as horribly as he treats his customers. I am not Bill Gates, spending $11,000 on carpet and getting treated like this shocks me. I can only imagine how horrible they will be to deal with if there is a warranty issue. Funny part is they left today at like 2:30 pm so they could have finished today but decided not to. No snow storm today (2.9.18) I attached a picture of the gym so you could see it is not something that someone can take apart or move in 5 minutes or even hours. As you can see, its not just a matter of me moving boxes into the basement.

They were very good. I would definitely use them again. It took them about two and a half days, and 4-5 people came out. They worked with us really good. They cleaned up everything that they had brought in.

Larry (owner) went above and beyond in making the experience great. He's very educated in the products, takes the time to understand your needs and the usage, and offers best recommendations. Before install, he thoroughly explained everything, all the way down to where the seams would be. We would use them again for sure.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience. After Sandy took the measurements and gave us an estimate, the order was placed for the tile. Of course, it took a few weeks for the order to arrive. When it did, the installer worked efficiently to complete the job. There was a glitch with the truck one day, and the owner actually had to deliver some of the tiles to the house  himself, via personal car. But he made it happen and we appreciated his drive to stay on schedule.

It went very smoothly, we were unsure on size of flooring but the store helped us with this decision and our installer had just enough with one little strip leftover.

They had lots of choice. It took a little longer to complete the order than I was told it would. The one that Callahan's bound has one area that is coming unbound.

Larry was very thorough in outlining the install, all the way down to where the carpet seams would be. Awesome job and we're very pleased with the work.

We shopped a couple of flooring businesses in our area and settled on Callahan's based upon the price, Angie's List reviews and their seemly desire to insure that we would be happy customers. We are! We did not want the newer high tech. polyester carpet that most places are pushing and instead wanted to buy the old tried and true nylon carpet. They were happy to give us what we wanted at a great price. Mr Callahan spent a lot of time educating us and giving us a lot of options from which to make our choice. We picked what we thought was the best flooring and their price was less than other flooring places that were selling an inferior product to what we bought. The installation went the same way as the sale of the flooring. The installers did everything they could to insure we were happy. We are! Mr. Callahan followed-up after the installation to insure we were satisfied and to answer any questions. We love our new floors and could not be happier!

Helped me Hoise flooring to fit my budget and specs. Very patient and helpful through all my worries, questions and indecisiveness. Installed in short order after I finally chose the flooring. Installation was careful, fast and professional. A very good experience, and I love my new floor!

From the moment we entered their store we were met with a very professional and courteous team.  Sandy was our sales person and with her experience she provided us all the various options of wood flooring and carpet to include home samples that she picked up to help us finalize our plans.  Once the decision was made the materials were ordered and delivered as promised and she was able to schedule installation ahead of our planned time.  The installers for the wood and carpet were extremely knowledgeable and professional,.  They did an outstanding job.  It took one day for the wood floor and another for the carpet.   The wood floor was installed in the hallway and kitchen and carpet placed in the Recreation and Living Room areas.  Very pleased with the whole process and their prompt response to our questions.   Well done and would definitely use them again.

Callahan's did a terrific job installing a carpet runner on our stairs.  We were preparing for a new baby and were concerned with slipping on the bare wood.  After explaining our needs at the store, Larry came out two days later to measure the stairs.  The carpet was ordered and installed within 2 weeks!  The installer took his time (about 4 hours) to make sure the runner was installed correctly and to my satisfaction.  We were very pleased with Callahan's and will be returning for new carpet in our family room.  Larry, the owner, is very personable and knowledgeable.  Highly recommend.

I have had excellent experience with them. It were just beautiful. Earlier in the summer they had done almost the same thing on the first floor here, which was my living room carpeting and the carpeting to the downstairs and then they put vinyl flooring on the rest of the first floor, which is a kitchen, entry hall and half bath, so they done almost my entire house. I think they were wonderful. They work with you to help you select carpet and you walk into store there were thousands of pieces of carpeting all around, but they are very helpful and talking to you about what you need, what you think you might want and I was able to bring samples home without any problem and they worked with me to suit by budget. I could have spent less, I could have spent more, but they helped me find what suited what I really need and what I could afford. I had no issues since the service. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

It went very well. We had a few concerns as the installation progressed but they were addressed and resolved to our satisfaction. Larry was extremely easy to work with. He was very detailed oriented and many times brought issues to us to discuss before we thought of them. He kept us updated every step of the way. It was a pleasure doing business with him.

**The total price we spent is high because the carpet we chose was one of the more expensive products they offered.** Overall, Callahan's prices are comparable to others in the area.
Our experience with Callahan's Carpet One was excellent. Everything was done without any pushiness and based on the products shown to us, we never got the impression that Callahan's only wanted to sell the priciest products. Our salesperson happily showed us products in all the price ranges without pushing us in any cost direction. We went with the expensive option because it was within our budget and because we liked that particular style.
After comparison shopping at several different carpet stores in the area, we chose Callahan's because of their helpfulness. All the stores offered to do a rough calculation based on the square footage provided and many were pleasant to work with, but in addition to his helpfulness, the associate at Callahan's was the only one that went the extra distance and offered to loan out the swatch board to us for the weekend. We didn't even have to ask. And, when I went in the following business day to place our order, the manager and owner was just as considerate as our salesperson. He even tried to get a rush shipment on the carpeting, no charge to us.
From the time of purchase to our installation, Callahan's service was quick, their communication was consistent, and never once did we feel confused about what was going on. Our salesperson came out do to the measurements and kept us updated on the arrival of our carpeting to their store. He also came out to the house on the day of the installation to make sure everything was going smoothly.
The installation went great. No problems whatsoever. The installer was professional, nice to work with, and the job didn't run over longer than anticipated. He did a great job installing the carpet and the joins are seamless. You can't tell where the carpet sections meet.
We'll definitely choose Callahan's again when we take on our next flooring project!

We were very satisfied. They were not pushy at all, prompt and the workers did a great job. Pleasant, very easy to work with. I would recommend them to others.

Larry assisted us in choosing the right flooring for our home office. He even let us take samples home, then took them back with him when he came to measure our room. We had laminate flooring put in a 17x11 office space and it looks fabulous! John the installer was polite and professional.

Our buying experience was very good. We felt listened to, and they gave us professional estimates by email shortly after our visit to the Hudson showroom. When we give them the okay to proceed, we were under a deadline to have the carpet installed since out of town guests were visiting soon. They pulled some strings and arranged for installation in time. My only complaint has to do with the way one of the stairs was done...the installers covered over a broken part of one of our steps (we hadn't noticed it) with the carpet and now it shows up as a depression in the stair nose. It would have been a slightly better installation experience if they had pointed out the problem and given us the opportunity to fix it prior to covering it with carpet. It's a small issue, however, and we're satisfied with the overall experience.
