We met with the owner and selected a shower basin to be used in a bathroom remodel.  At the time of the purchase we noticed that the edge of the basin was flat and did not have  an integrated tile flange.  We asked how the tile could be integrated into the basin installation and we were told that tile setters know how to do it and that they have never had a problem with their design.
After it was fabricated and picked up we solicited quotes from two commercial tile setters.  Both said that it was not a good application for tile and that they would not guarantee it would not leak.  They both recommended we return it and find a unit that had a tile flange.
I returned it to Creative Products in excellent condition and they refused to give us our money back.  When I told them about the tile setter recommendations they diregarded it saying that the tile setters at Lowe's use their basins all the time.  I asked them how they proposed making it a water tight installation.  They said silicone caulk behind the tile.  I asked them what happens when the house settles, the wood shrinks and the caulk fails, and you can't get at it to re-caulk.  They said they have not had a problem with their basin design and refused to consider a return.  Also it was a standard size in white
