I ended up joining the club and had many friends join. The trainers are great motivaters and show you alternative excercises if you have injuries. It's the best workout I have ever had and will continue to go back. You can freeze your membership if you can't attend for any reason. The price is worth what you get!

I loved the group boxing training, which isn't as much about form and function of boxing, but more about an aerobic workout with punching bags thrown in. They do provide basic form instruction, and you can sign up for personal training classes. I felt like the price per month was a little steep, so I only ended going for 1 month. I might sign a commitment when I find the budget, though.

I negotiated a good annual rate and paid for a full year membership in advance. Even though I played numerous sports in high school and served in the military, the workouts provided at the gym were incredible, some of the best I've ever participated in. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, and provide a good atmosphere for which to workout. As far as the gym staff and the workouts are concerned I was very satisfied. My dissatisfaction comes from their billing practices. Instead of getting a renewal notice saying my membership was due to expire and giving me the opportunity to negotiate a new term, I received a bill for the previous month's dues. When I called to inquire, Beth at the 3rd party company who handles the billing said there is an automatic renewal clause in the contract. If you don't renew before your membership expires, it renews automatically at the standard rate, which I might add was a bit higher than the rate I negotiated. When I said it would've been nice to receive a renewal notice instead of a past due bill she said the auto renewal was right in the contract. When I asked if I could simply cancel my membership, Beth said it would require a 30 day advanced written notice which means I would not only need to pay for the current month but also an additional month of dues. When I said I thought their practice was a bit deceptive, especially since I don't remember the auto renewal being mentioned when I signed up, she said that was simply the policy. I gave Beth my credit card number to cover the two month's worth of dues and immediately sent a written notification to cancel. In the notification I reiterated my feeling that the practice was deceptive and noted that I would be adding a review to Angie's List to warn others of the practice. I thought that was the end of it but I continued to receive bills. At first I thought it was just the second month's bill being sent to me, but I just received a third month's bill. I just phoned Beth and left a message so hopefully I can get this straightened out today.
Bottom line is that I loved the workouts at Title Boxing, but the deceptive billing practice has really turned me off. In the end I may rejoin the gym but I will be especially careful to make sure the auto renewal is not part of my new contract. I just wanted to alert anyone using the gym to watch out for this practice and take precautions to avoid it.
