I gave them a "B" fpr price, but it is definitely worth it!
"Thank you for the kind words and good review! we appreciate your feedback."
"Member, We appreciate your excellent review on Angie's List. Our goal is provide excellent services with excellent customer service. Thank you very much. To show our appreciation, we would like to give you credit for 1 month of monitoring. Again, thank you. Sterling Protective Services, Inc."
For example, they told me upon installation there would be weekly tests on their end to make sure the communication was good between their office and my system. Once there was an issue, someone called immediately, and stepped me through trying to reset the system.
Unlike the big name security companies, Sterling calls the police BEFORE trying to find out if the alarm is for real. THis is comforting, as I would not want an intruder taking off with all my goods while the office is trying to reach me on a cell phone.
Finally, I like that you can pay a year of monthly fees in advance and receive one month free service.
I would highly recommend giving a locally owned company such as this one a call...
"[member name removed], We appreciate your excellent review on Angie's List. Our goal is provide excellent services with excellent customer service. Thank you very much. To show our appreciation, we would like to give you credit for 1 month of monitoring. Again, thank you. Sterling Protective Services, Inc."
Since they broke their promise, they should have removed it at no charge. Instead they charged a $350 labor charge.
If we did that with our customers, we would not have any. That is why I would never recommend or use this company again.
"We tried very hard to accommodate the member. We feel that the sales representative went above and beyond of what is expected of him. The member was asking for DVR functions that are very difficult to find. Because of this, we agreed with the member to allow the DVR to be used for 2 weeks to see if it was acceptable to the member. After the 2 weeks if the member was not satisfied, we would remove the DVR and return the deposit made by the member. The member agreed to pay for the installation of the DVR which was to be billed based on time and material costs. This cost was separate from the DVR cost. After the DVR was deemed to be unacceptable by the member, we emailed the member and asked him if he was going to pay for the time and material installation of $157.50 or if he wanted to deduct that amount from his deposit on the DVR. The member did not respond, therefore we deducted the amount of $157.50 from his $500 deposit. He was refunded $342.50 which is the $500 deposit minus the $157.50. There was never a promise of any kind that this DVR or any DVR would be acceptable to the member. The very fact that the member received the DVR on trial shows that the sales representative was not sure if the DVR would function as the member wanted. The member agreed to the trial, therefore he was also aware that the DVR might not do want he wanted it to do. To hold us responsible for something that did not meet his expectations, when he clearly was aware that the DVR might not meet his expectations, is unreasonable. After the member rejected the DVR, our sales representative researched a different DVR for him, at the member’s request. The member thought our cost was too high, so he took the information that our sales representative had researched for him, and bought the equipment from another company. We did nothing unprofessional; in fact we did everything within our power to make the member happy. His refund was issued in January of this year, and five months later he gives us a failing grade and calls us unprofessional? We were not. We were completely professional and very accommodating."
