PILLAR TO POST

Complete Home Inspection, Radon Gas Testing, Radon Gas Abatement,

About us

Tim and Mariana began operating their franchise in October 2002. They have earned the trust of buyers, sellers and real estate professionals, growing into one of the largest and most respected companies in the area, offering professional home inspections, termite inspections and radon testing. The team (2 inspectors) has inspected over 3,000 properties in all kinds of neighborhoods, from older historic neighborhoods, to the new luxury homes of the growing suburbs, and everything in between. We inspect residential single, multi unit homes and investment property. All home inspections are completed according to The Standards of Practice of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). Tim is the President of the Ohio Chapter of The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI®). Our goal is to enable you to be an informed customer who is familiar with the details of the home. We strongly encourage you to attend the inspection, which provides an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about your prospective new home. During the inspection, we will point out and discuss areas of concern regarding the property. You will then be provided with a computerized, detailed, unbiased report with all of this information and much more. For sellers, a pre-listing inspection can detect previously unknown problems or potential upgrades that you wish to address prior to selling your home. Being aware of issues in advance will allow for disclosure of problems, which can result in smoother transactions for all parties. Call our office to learn more about our services. We look forward to working for you.

Tim Buell did a horrible job evaluating a condo my brother ended up purchasing. The unit he bought had not been occupied for a while, so there was not a lot evidence of water issues when we did our tour. After he moved in he discovered water in the basement and water in the first floor closet ceiling and bathroom ceiling. Buell missed cracks in the exterior foundation that had allowed water to flow into both sides of the basement and 3 leaks in upstairs plumbing that took out the ceilings. If he had opened any of the plumbing access panels or looked behind one of the non-working electrical outlets, he would have found corrosion and mold indicating major problems. His defense is that Pillar to Post only allows for visual inspection of the house. He is not allowed to open access panels and open anything electrical. We thought that we had hired a professional service that would find the hidden issues in a property. That is not what you get when you hire Pillar to Post.

Horrible experience, wouldn't wish this guy on my worst enemy.  First, he started the inspection an hour early, before the schedule time, and was "finished" when I arrived at the scheduled time.  After we moved in, a number of issues which would have been spotted with my bare, naked, untrained eye were found.  An example was a LIVE 220 line, with copper exposed, right next to a live gas line.
This is just one of the obvious things he missed.  The report that's generated is also sub-par.  Basically it's just a bunch of check marks in boxes, 2 pages of GENERIC crap not related to your house, and then maybe 1-2 pages specific to the property.  Missed sections such as basement, kitchen, etc.

Tim was just delightful to work with.  His inspection was VERY thorough and he showed so much knowledge on homes and every little detail.  He showed a true interest in my home purchase and the home itself.  I would recommend him to anyone.

We are now stuck with paying to have the issues resolved because we cannot go back to the previous owner. And, our utility bills have been out of line as a result. Each of the three contractors agreed that any competent inspector should have seen these problems.

Tim communicated thoroughly prior to the inspection, he arrived promptly, he went about his business inside and outside the property. Total time was about 3 hours worth of inspection, detail, explanation, he covered everything he saw with me. Great experience, and one of the nicest guys I've ever met.

It went over very well...well, Blaine the inspector found mold, lead based paint, and potentially asbestos in the house that we almost bought. We will have to back out on the deal because the health risk is just too high for us and our 15 month old baby. Blaine is a rather large man, but he tried to squeeze himself into every little space possible to get a thorough inspection. After the inspection, he was able to print the report out in his car, which makes it very convenient for us. He also emailed the result to our buyer's agent, which also saves us time. In addition, he answers his phone in the weekends, which is rare, and we were able to schedule an appointment immediately.

Inspector was very personable; very informative and thorough. Very professional. Explained everything he was doing, why he was doing it, what can be expected in a home of this type, and what exactly we don't want to find. Gave me a detailed record of the inspection printed out on his computer, on the spot.

The experience was great and very thorough. He explained every mechanical aspect of the house, opened every window and checked every wall for water. The entire process lasted about 3 hours and we received a binder at the end that had all the appliance information and other areas in it for an easy reference. Wonderful job.

MY WIFE AND I BOTH WERE VERY COMFORTABLE WITH TIM BUELL. WE FEEL THAT HE PERFORMED A VERY THOROUGH INSPECTION AND HE FOUND A CRITICAL ISSUE THAT TWO OTHERS MISSED. HE SAVED US ROUGHLY FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS IN MOLD MITIGATION COSTS.

HE WAS THOROUGH AND THE WRITTEN REPORT WAS EASY TO FOLLOW AND IN A THREE RING BINDER. IT INCLUDED AN ABUNDANCE OF QUALITY RECOMMENDATIONS AS FOLLOW UP TO REMEDY FOUND PROBLEMS. AFTER THE INSPECTION HE MET WITH ME TO REVIEW ALL ASPECTS OF HIS REPORT.
