John Romans Construction Ltd

When you think of having contractors at your house over a span of a few months, the initial gut reaction is to just run. However, John Romans Construction and his crew made for a pleasant as possible experience. From beginning to end, John was helpful in navigating the process - from obtaining necessary city variance approvals, to the final details of the outdoor kitchen, and even a little consulting/advice on items outside of his scope. As with any project, we of course came across various unexpected obstacles. That being said, we truly appreciated John’s level of explanation and communication. He thoroughly explained what was happening and had various solutions, pros/cons, and estimated costs ready to go to avoid any delays. As a customer who has dealt with various contractors - we’ve learned how important and essential that communication can be to ensure the project is completed just the way we want. The craftsmanship is second to none. John and his team expected nothing short of A+ work from themselves down to the smallest of details and we will use them for any additional projects we may venture into in the future. To say we (and everyone else who has seen it so far) were impressed with the work, is an understatement.

We loved working with John Romans Construction. We lived in our home during our project. Not only were his crew members respectful of our space, cleaning up thoroughly each day, but they truly became a part of the family. The work was done in a timely fashion and we were blown away by the results. It's everything we hoped it could be! Thank you JRC! You knocked it out of the park!!

At first everything was going really well until Mr. Romans attitude changed. The job became really delayed and started taking longer. When we asked him why, he said he had under-quoted the egress window and a few other things. We were not pleased with this explanation because we were already spending additional money to his quote anyway. He said the delay on the work was because some of the major things were under-quoted and he had to find people who would do the job well but charge less. I sensed that he was sub-contracting and that was why it was taking so long. Mr. Romans started work in our house mid April 2017 and finished early Sept 2017. The reason I won't hire Mr. Romans again is that there was a lot of back and fort that went on between him and us that I would describe as not quite pleasant. I'm giving this Company a B because I don't think we parted ways happily, But at the end of the day, they did a good job and we love our basement.

Not Recommended! Worst contractor experience I've had in 40 years! They went way over budget and took twice as long to complete the job as promised. Most days the workers were on site about 5-6 hours a day. Then, for two weeks, in the middle of the project, nobody showed up. His allowances were tiny and then I was given a huge change order after the demolition phase. He stated that it took longer than expected and I was stuck with the extra cost because he underestimated the job. I will never do business with Romans again and I do not recommend them.

They were very persistent in reaching out to me. They tried three times before I was able to pick up the call and talk to them. I thought the initial price was high. I thought they were very professional.

They provided a very reasonable quote and quickly performed the remodel. This was my 2nd bathroom remodel. The 1st I did with another contractor that took forever and made several obvious mistakes such as uneven tile and poor ventilation. John Romans Construction was a dream compared to the other company. The work was done quickly, proficiently, and they even helped repair some of the mistakes in the other bathroom from the previous contractor.

The entire experience working with John Romans Construction was great! John himself was very personable and was fully involved from the beginning, which set a great tone for the project from the very beginning. The fencing team was great to work with as well, being flexible with us right up to the point where they were onsite and actually installing the fence. Everyone was also very kind to our entire family as well! The cost of the project was very fair compared with other quotes that we received, it started more quickly than I expected, it was completed in just a couple of days, and the quality of the fence is excellent - we have received more compliments on it than I can count at this point! I absolutely recommend John Romans Construction and will definitely look to use them again!

I would recommend Romans to my family and friends for future work. The work was professionally done. The workmanship is also of high quality. The curb appeal is much improved due to this improvement. Our neighbors have commented also on the good work Being done by John Romans Construction.

The workers showed up on time daily, worked until all hours to complete the project in a timely fashion. All involved were professional and courteous. The salesman followed through with every detail and came to check on the final project and walk through everything with us to make sure the job was to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend this company for any remodel or construction job.

The crews were all very professional, well dressed and polite. JRC found a ton of rotted wood which they quickly repaired without hesitation. The electricians, plumbers and furnace guys were independently licensed companies with whom John Romans Construction project manager schedule perfectly (I couldn't believe so many people were in my house at once).I love my granite counter tops, custom cabinetry, tile work and hard wood floors the most. These are all things I have always dreamed of and they made it all come true.

Entire job was completed in one day. Contractor cleaned up the site fairly well even though it was dark at the time
