Mike arrived on time to provide a written estimate, but was about an hour late for the installation--he did call around the expected time to explain that he was running behind for this early morning appointment. Despite taking measurements during the original inspection, he arrived with a tank that was too tall for the installation site and had to exchange the tank with his supplier for a shorter one--the written estimate calls for a short tank. Near the end of the installation, he explained that the metal stack from the original installation was too short for the new tank and that there would be an additional charge to install a new piece of sheet metal (about a $5 value at any home improvement store). Based on the installation manual that came with the tank, installation of a proper stack is part of the installation procedure, so I don't understand why I was charged separately for a task that was clearly visible during the quotation.
When the job was finished, Mike would not accept a check (despite payment by check being listed as a payment method on the Angie's List web site). He demanded that we visit my local banking branch together so that I could pay him with cash. This is irregular at best.

I called Mike on a Wednesday evening, he came out the next day to give me an estimate and then completed the work the next day. I had old piping that needed completely replaced and reconfigured. Mike told me what he was going to do and why it needed done and did everything the correct way so it will last. I am happy with the work, the timely response and communication.

Hetzler Plumbing and Excavation were responsive, prompt, the price was very reasonable, they stayed until the job was done, and they offered alternatives. They were very professional.

I was so happy with what he did. There were a couple of things where I had some real headaches about and he knew what to do. He had some creative solutions for a couple of things. I am down in the basement right now looking at his work and I have never been happier with the kind of result I got. I've used him before. He was fast to respond and he was flexible with my requirements. He and his guys were very efficient with the pipe and I was very happy with their work. I would definitely use them again.

We were very happy with the result. If I had plumbing needs, I would hire them again.

This is the subcontractor that our Hall's Home Improvements used for our bathroom remodels. Mike changed all of our bathroom plumbing from PVC to copper and moved the location of much of the plumbing. He was professional and friendly both times he was at our house.

It went very well. I called him on Tuesday and we set up an appointment for Wednesday. Before our meeting on Wednesday he called to say he was stuck at another appointment so we rescheduled it to the following day. On Thursday he showed up right on time was able to quickly tackle the project. He understood what I wanted and was very clear as to what he needed to do to accomplish his work.

Mike had been referred by our real estate agent. He was very knowledgeable and presented our options - clearly giving us his professional opinion. Quality and long term durability are important to Mike. We appreciated hearing which brands and materials he had the best results with over his many years as a plumber. We didn't get any other quotes on the work so I can't say for sure that the labor was the cheapest but the price he charged us for the disposal was 20 cheaper than what we would have been able to purchase it for from a hardware store. He and his assistant showed up on time, spent a very long day doing the work, completely cleaned up the area and kept me updated on their progress. The materials he used were top notch and the results were excellent. We would definitely use Mike's services again.

It's a smaller company and I like that. They cleaned up and they were good.
