The results were exactly what I had hoped for. Although the job took longer than expected, I was outwardly relaxed about the timeframe for completion. I think this contractor should have made an attempt to draft a written contract with me for services. Also, the communication with the company should have been over email. There were also a few problems with my own personal tools being taken from the jobsite, but they have been returned and I can only assume it was an honest mistake.
The main problem I had was their inability to dictate the actions of their employees. One employee smoked not just on my front porch, but inside my home! Although this was the construction site, it was also my home. This was unacceptable.
In the end, I would go with them again, but I would get our agreement for services in writing first.
