SKODA CONSTRUCTION INC

I had an awful time in the beginning dealing with the OTHER "storm chaser" restoration companies that swarmed me after the storm. I even went through a DIFFERENT contractors substandard work and fired them. Thankfully I found Skoda construction, called them, they came immediately out, assessed my disaster and were willing to work with me and the insurance company to get my home put back together. The insurance process is confusing and lengthy on a project with so many restoration needs and Chris Skoda has been excellent to work with. Chris, with the help of his  Project Manager Tony, has a team of many different speciality crews that I can not say enough good things about. Much of the work is done by Amish crews that are true craftsmen with skills and workmanship above and beyond belief. Every team he has sent here has been high quality craftsmen that are experts in their field. I am not exaggerating one bit on that one........EVERY TIME they come out and tackle the next piece of this project I am amazed at how perfectly perfect everything is. I am not a push over either.....my deceased father was a skilled union finisher carpenter that had me help him on many of his winter side jobs. I grew up knowing the difference between good work and crap.  My back room roof has the framing rebuilt better and stronger than it ever was. The garage that is almost complete is amazing..... bigger, better, stronger. The materials they used from the concrete foundation  up have been ALWAYS better than anything I have ever seen before. Unbelievable foundation and extra good slab.... 2X10X20ft. rafters and general framing to perfection, R38 insulation ceiling, R19 walls, 5/8" fire rated drywall everywhere.... then plastered !!!!! The electrician's work was perfection......Even our building inspector has commented on the unbelievable workmanship this garage has.......We aren't done yet... still have plenty more to complete, but I couldn't imagine anything but more of what I have already got...... Skoda Construction is a rare find in this day and times....Honesty, quality, and integrity with a highly skilled batch of craftsman that do beautiful work...... I know I am lucky to have them taking care of me. I'll post how it all works out when it's complete...... but OMG.... so far sooooo good :)

This contractor came highly recommended. He returned our phone call in a timely manner, came out and gave us an honest and fair estimate, and was knowledgable about the work. We ultimately went in another direction, but would hire them in a heart beat.

Outstanding.  Excellent communication.  Always returns calls swiftly.  Always let me know when workers would be here and the time.  Any concerns were addressed swiftly and respectfully.  Chris and his son and his employees were all top-notch.  I would use Skoda Construction again and have already recommended them to others.

I cant say enough about Chris and the crew of guys he works with.  Chris built my Daughter a new home in Kirtland Hills and he was terrific in every way.  He paid close attention to every last detail and was always available day or night to answer questions and or meet with her.  His pricing was more than fair and he is very honest.  This is the second time we have used him and I highly recommend his services  A+++

I cant say enough about Chris Skoda as he helped us from start to
finish.  When we built our first home we knew very little about the
building process but Chris walked us through everything from the initial
meetings to the finish of the project.  Chris also has an open book
billing system where he showed us all of the quotes and invoices for the
project which gave us the understanding  and and comfort of knowing
what things cost.  I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We were on vacation and came home to a flooded house.  Our insurance agent told us to call Chris and Tony and Skoda Construction Inc to come out and a**** our situation.  As it turned out our home was in ruins but they assured us they would take care of everything.  Let me tell you they did more than I ever expected from a contractor.  When I called them at 9 pm at night they came right out and started to clean up the mess.  Their crew worked through the night removing our wet carpets and drywall while at the same time protecting our belongings. I can't say enough about this company and I would fully recommend them for any construction/restoration project.  Honest fair people. They are still working on our house and will be here for some time but I wanted to let people know how great they are.  They also made the insurance process easy.  We had an adjuster that was stubborn and didn't want to give us what we needed to do the project but Chris and Tony dealt with all of that and now were on our way to getting our home back.  A++++ in my book.

A good friend of mine suggested Skoda Construction for some badly needed roof work on our house. The principles of the company, Chris and Tony, came over to look at my roof to determine the cause of a leak around the chimney. In the process, they realized that many of the shingles on my roof were damaged by wind strorms and that the homeowners' insurance should take care of it. They suggested that all of the shingles should be replaced and that some of the boards aroung the chimney need to be replaced as well. Several teams came out over several visits; one team completed the shingle replacement while a couple of others determined the cause then repaired the leak around the chimney. I was so impressed that Skoda Construction kept with the project even though the cause of the leak was hard to pin down. They kept searching and making the necessary repairs. I can't imagine any other company being so dilligent. The cause of the leak seemed to be a problem that was almost unheard of. I have spoken to a couple other homeowners who had similar problems but their roofers/contractors weren't as thorough or persistent.
I feel very fortunate that Skoda Construction worked with me on this problem.

We were extremely pleased with all work completed. Chris Skoda was on site daily and guided us through the selection of products that would suit our budget and our needs.

We contacted Skoda Construction after we saw the work that was done our neighbor's roof. We suffered hail damage this past fall and placed a claim with our insurance company for repairs.Chris and Tony were responsive to our calls and helped us to understand the insurance claim process more effectively than our insurance company. They came out to inspect the roof, gave us an estimate,covered an area of the roof that was compromised and then put us on the list for a spring roof replacement. The mild winter allowed us to have the work done sooner and by the middle of February  - we had a beautiful new roof! We can not say enough about the professional service that we have experienced with Skoda Construction. We are completely satisfied and recommend their services to anyone needing work done on their home. Thank you Chris and Tony!

He was on time with all aspects of the project and was available at all hours of the day. All of the subcontractors that Skoda Hired were also top notch people and it was the easiest experience I could have asked for.

All work was done as promised and all charges were included in the estimate - no surprises. Chris Skoda and his assistant, Gene, were prompt, friendly and efficient. When some rough work in the paint job was pointed out to them, they apologized profusely and made good on the job, starting on it within an hour of my phone call. It's hard to imagine a more positive and responsive experience from professionals who have been doing this kind of work for more than 20 years. I highly recommend them.
