Jerry and his crew were prompt, courteous, efficient and HARD WORKING, ALWAYS available to answer any and all questions that we had; and FLEXIBLE, so slight variations from the original "plan" didn't seem to be a problem for them! Their work, our second "major" job with them, was impeccable, as always! They were not the "cheapest" contractor that was available to us, nor were they the most expensive, they were, quite simply, the BEST VALUE! We will look NOWHERE else when we need additional landscaping work done! The lawn care division of the business has been taking care of our lawn maintenance for 3 years now; and we're staying with them in the future! VERY reasonably priced and FAIRLY priced! Company-wide, absolutely no finer people to do business with! Simply IMPOSSIBLE to "go wrong" with Nichols Lawn & Landscape!

They usually like to put down 2 inches of mulch, but we paid extra because we wanted 3 inches.  They did the mulching, but later that day I noticed that they seemed to have run low and didn't put down enough in some areas.  So I contacted Jere Nichols and he came out a few days later and put down more mulch.  He didn't give me any hassles and he stood behind his work - what a refreshing surprise, considering what some landscapers are like!  I would definitely use them again.

Jerry and his crew of ONE arrived on Tuesday morning...............................and it was non-stop "Bobcat work" for several hours...................................removing and loading the "scrap" mulch and hauling it away..............................and bringing in topsoil and spreading it........................................and then seeding it and applying the straw "cover".  Jerry and Jack worked virtually NON-STOP for the better part of the day.  We were THRILLED that Jack took all of the daffodils to give to his sister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Working conditions were less than ideal...................we had received A LOT of rain the week before, so the ground was just firm enough for most of Jerry's equipment; but quite a bit of manual labor was involved because the ground was not able to support one the machines.
The work performed was EXQUISITE!  I could not have asked for anything better!  In the future, I know who we'll be calling for our landscaping needs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was soooooooooooooooo impressed with Jerry, Jack and Lucas (Jerry's son, who worked for a few hours after school) that I contracted with him to mow and trim our "outer yards"........................about 12,000 square feet.  Our yard inside our fences is for our dogs............................and the gates cannot accommodate the widths of commercial mowers.  Based on the "going rates" in our area, his price was MORE THAN FAIR.......................$35 per week for the cut and trim................................and $45 for "straight fertilizer" (NO weed, grub, insect or other type of toxic chemical controls)............................my wife and I enjoy our "biodiverse ecosystem of low-growing vegetation!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <VBG>
......................along with all of the wild critters that come to feast on clover, grubs and other "delicacies"!!!!!!!!!!! <VBG>
In our 60+ years, my wife and I learned long ago that you get what you pay for...................................Jerry's price for the services provided was FAIR and an extremely GOOD VALUE for the money spent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the things that REALLY IMPRESSED us about Jerry and his business is that they did NOT "pass judgement" on our "eccentricities"...............................we don't  mind dandelions...........................they're one of the first "flowers of Spring".........................and when they go to seed, the gold finches come to dine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone from the business that we have met is very straight-forward, honest to a fault..........................and VERY "down to earth"............................VERY easy to "deal with"...............................and they all just "go with the flow"........................nothing seems to "upset" them in the least................................
In reality, my rating for them is A+ and 6 out of a possible 5 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don and his team came out and worked their behinds off. The lot was a mess after construction grade work, Nichols was able to level it and actually make it look nice, they removed all visible rocks, put down a thick layer of topsoil and planted seed. They covered everything with hay, provided a temporary fence for our doggies and put sod inside the temp fence so the guys could do their business. One of the workers damaged the siding, but Don was quick to point it out and assured us a contractor had already been contacted to repair it. The damage was quite small and my guess is, most folks would have not said a thing and hoped we would not notice, but Don doesn't seem to be that sort of fella. Plus as most people with dogs know, if the pups like him, he's probably okay. Goober jumped in his lap like he was an old friend. Two other neighbors are finishing construction and approached Don to also put in their lawns. They watched and were also impressed with the quality and professionalism.

Don came out last Wednesday to check the fill-dirt they put in beside the house a few years ago due to the water in basement I called him . Thinking it could be the same problem. We then found out it was the water -heater.
Don insisted on checking their previous work from years ago. Which we appreciated.
Per Don all was fine with the dirt.
We needed some weeds removed and mulch. He gave us a price. Said it might be a week or sooner.
He returned early yeaterday with his workers. He suggested double-cut mulch due to our composite deck.
They had to trench out the space in front of the porch . Also they laid a material undeneath before laying the mulch.
I think the estimate was 5 yards of mulch.

They laid the material with big metal pieces to keep it in places. Laid the mulch and added a nice brick piece for the mailman to stand on.
They did the mulch on both sides of the house where we had discussed.
Took care of the weeds and I asked him if they could do the back weeds also. I had forgot to include in our first talk. He did. Only chargerand 10.00 I would say( I had to leave).
They cleaned up with a blower.
Don is always nice guy to talk to and do business with. Usually he comes out for the estimates.. His son owns the company Jerry..
They are both very professional and nice.
The quote for all was $500.00 plus tax =$535.00? Plus extra weeds =$567.50.
Never had this kind of work done so I trusted and appreciated Don's suggestions.

We got alot of compliments on the yard last night( not why we did it), but it looks nice.

I will use them again and they did a really good job. They did an excellent job; I can't say enough. They did stuff that I didn't know they did, I was out looking and I saw that they treated my yard like it was their own. They did little things that they could have just ignored but they didn't, so they were just great. We have a lot of flowerbeds and I am completely satisfied with the materials they used, the workmanship and everything. They were just A-plus all around.
