wonderfully and thoroughly. He also had to work around a whole bunch of other contractors of painters, wood flooring installers, and other workmen. He is one in a million - the business card, magnet and sticker on my electrical box will ALWAYS stay there!!!

The electrician (Chuck) was amazing to work with, he tightened the grounding clamp on our panel which was found during a home inspection.

Chuck arrived on-time and immediately set to work. The job lasted longer than he anticipated but stayed with it until completed and he left everything neat and tidy. Chuck re-installed all of the wiring into the new panel in a very clean and orderly manner.
The only problem I had was that when Chuck re-energized the panel one of the breakers tripped. I had some other work done prior to Chuck and he naturally assumed that the problem originated with that work that had been done prior. Due to length of the time Chuck was at my place, and still having to make another service call yet that day (it was now after 5PM) Chuck departed on that note. I had no reason to doubt him. Unfortunately I did not insist that he stay to verify the root cause of the short. I then had the circuit checked all the way back to origin which confirmed that the problem was in fact directly related to Chuck's work. There was undeniable proof of that - it was corrected/fixed at that point. I later advised Chuck of my findings who agreed with the findings. This is where my disappointment with Chuck and Herman Electric occurred - no refund or compensation was offered. Chuck made the choice to NOT stay and trouble-shoot the issue to confirm the source of the short. He assumed it was mine and simply dumped it in my lap to figure out.....

We have used Herman Electric in the past for home repairs and upgrades. Chuck was arrived on time, was very professional, worked steadily during the time he was there and cleaned up after the work was completed. We trust him to guide us in making decisions that would affect the safety of our home or improve the current electrical service. We would highly recommend Herman Electric to anyone and would call him again for any electrical repair or upgrade.

The problem started while we were on vacation. We came home to parts of our house being without power. My sister recommended Herman Electric. I called them on a Sunday night and I received a call the next morning. My appointment time was between 12:00 and 4:00. I thought this was a lot of time waiting but I was told they would call 30 minutes before the representative would arrive. The representative did call arrived and pretty much found the problem rather quickly. It was a hidden gfi outlet having been tripped by a storm. The representative recommended moving the gfi to an inside location. I decided on moving it into the fused box. I went back to work but my wife stayed home to allow the representative to finish the work. After he installed the gfi circuit in the fuse box , my wife noticed the power had restarted for one of our tvs. The representative upon finding this out went back down to the fuse box and supposedly corrected the problem. There was some back and forth about whether he caused the electrical issue or not, but he fixed it. After the representative left, my wife found our master bedroom power was out. She went down to the fuse box and had to reset some switches. We think he left the switches switched off. I was satisfied with the professionalism and the work for the most part, but he could have reviewed his completed work better.

We needed to replace two malfunctioning porch lights on the front of the house. We contacted them and they said they no longer furnished lights themselves, but they would install any of our own choice. So, we ordered a pair of lights and contacted them to set up a time for installation. Chuck came out the week after we received the lights we ordered, and installed the lights and provided light sensors to turn them on and off at dusk and daylight. We have a yearly contract with them for electrical safety inspection, and they gave us a good discount on the service.

It was a yearly check up. They were good. I would use them again in the future if need be.

He was very professional. He put on some little things over his shoes before he came in. He talked to us as a human being and did wonderful work. He brought all his own tools and didn’t ask us for anything. We had no problem with his work. I would recommend him in a heartbeat, and I have recommended him to others.

From start to finish we couldn't have been more pleased with Herman. He showed up on time, great attitude, well prepared, ready to get started. About 20 minutes in he came in and said "we have a problem with my quote" at which point I thought... 'this is going to cost me' - INSTEAD... He said, "There isn't a need for me to charge you to run a line, because it's already here"... So, his "problem" with the quote, was that he was going to charge me LESS!!! I ended up having him help us out with a bunch of little things that weren't urgent, but needed some 'love' - his final price was still well under his estimate. GREAT guys! - Planning on giving them another call here shortly to handle something for me personally!

That is very typical of Steve- he can fix anything we need and always saves us money. I feel 5X safer in this old house with his check ups and repairs. He lives electricity and knows it, but is still esthetically conscious! His mind is sharp, and he has a good sense of humor.

Steve showed up right on time and got to work. He explained what needed to be done, what options we had and how much it would cost. Within a few hours he was cleaning up and on his way. It works, looks great and we're happy campers.

We awoke early Sunday morning to find the outlet in our master bath arcing and sparking. The fire department put out the fire and shut off all the upstairs electricity, so we had to have service fast. We called Herman Electric, they said they'd be here within 3 hours and they were. In less than an hour, the wiring was repaired, the outlet replaced, and a new lighting fixture installed in the ceiling.

My overall experience was Great!!! The electrician came in with booties on his feet, and presented himself very well. He explained everything that he highly recommended, and all the prices up front to get my house to where it should be. I bought a customer service agreement with this company, and it included saving 15% on any work performed, as well as Safety Evals for my home! As soon as I close on this house, I will be calling Herman Electric the very next day. I will also recommend them highly to my friends, family, and co-workers. Great Service from the phone, all the way 'til you pulled out of the driveway. And the lady who answered the phone, A+++++++++, very polite, caring, and generous. A++++++++++++++++ You have a customer for life with me!!!!!!!!

Prompt, friendly, timely completion of work. They took the time to review entire work estimate and answered all my questions. Price is a little higher as they quote per job vs. per hour, however, no increase cost for unseen issues that would add extra time to complete task.

We initially called them because the failure of the electricity on the 3rd floor. He found a flaw in the wiring. He advised us about the outdated circuit breaker we had. We wanted the electric meters moved outside. He combined them into one meter. We expect this installation to pay for itself within 10 years. The thing that really impressed me was that Steve basically checked out every circuit in the house and made sure the loads were correct. He always called us and let us know how he was running. He took the porch light and cleaned it out (it was full of bugs). I was going to get a new light. He advised me on smoke detectors, that we would be safer if we had an integrated alarm system. They came out to repair the malfunctioning smoke alarm unit in the middle of the night. He was neat. His uniform was neat and clean. He had all of the equipment that he needed in his truck. He is one of the best repair people I've ever had come out to the house.

I MADE ONLY ONE CALL TO THE COMPANY. THEY PROMPTLY CALLED BACK WITH A SCHEDULED TIME. THE ELECTRICAN CAME AND PERFORMED THE WORK RIGHT THEN. THE ELECTRICAN WAS NEAT, QUICK AND VERY PROFESSIONAL, JUST WHAT EVERYONE HOPES FOR.

STEVE, THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN WAS ALWAYS HERE ON TIME AND ALWAYS HAD WHAT MATERIALS HE NEEDED WITH HIM IN HIS TRUCK. HE IS A VERY LIKABLE FELLOW AND EASY TO WORK WITH. MY WIFE AND I HAVE UNUSUAL WORK SLEEP HOURS BUT STEVE AND BRANDY AT HERMAN ELECTRIC'S OFFICES (BRANDY HAS THE PATIENCE OF A SAINT) WAS ABLE TO SCHEDULE ALL WORK AT A TIME CONVENIENT TO US. STEVE DID EVERYTHING WE REQUESTED AND WAS DILIGENT IN INSPECTING OUR HOME TO INSURE ITS SAFETY. WE HAVE BEEN PLANNING TO HAVE THIS WORK DONE FOR 10 YEARS AND ARE GLAD WE WAITED TO FIND A GOOD COMPANY BY SUBSCRIBING TO ANGIES LIST. STEVE, I AM SOMEWHAT EMBARRASED TO SAY, LEFT ALL THE AREAS HE WORKED IN CLEANER CONDITION THAN WHEN HE ARRIVED! OUR HOUSE IS FILLED WITH CLUTTER, AND YET SOMEHOW STEVE ALWAYS WAS ABLE TO WORK AROUND OUR POSESSIONS WITHOUT DISTURBING ANYTHING. I STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW HE WAS ABLE TO INSTALL THE SMOKE DETECTOR IN THE KITCHEN WITH ALL THE STUFF PILED BY THE WALL. THESE PEOPLE ARE TRUE PROFESSIONALS. A++++++

AS USUAL, THIS COMPANY IS A JOY TO DEAL WITH. THEIR ELECTRICIAN WAS EFFICIENT, FRIENDLY, AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. HE HAD TO DO SOME CUTTING AND FITTING AND MODIFICATIONS, WHICH WERE DONE VERY QUICKLY. THE WORK WAS DONE VERY WELL. THEY CALL BEFORE THEY ARE COMING, AND THEY CLEAN UP AFTER THEY ARE DONE. THEY HAVE DONE SEVERAL JOBS FOR US IN THE PAST, AND WE'VE ALWAYS BEEN MORE THAN PLEASED.

STEVE WAS RUNNING LATE FOR THE APPOINTMENT, BUT TOOK HIS TIME LOOKING FOR THE PROBLEM. VERY PROFESSIONAL. WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE THEM AGAIN.

I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER. WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. THE TECHNICIANS WERE POLITE AND INFORMATIVE. I AM HAPPY THAT I FOUND A DEPENDABLE AND RELIABLE COMPANY. THEY CALLED AHEAD AND ASKED IF THEY COULD COME EARLY SINCE AN ELECTRICIAN WAS AVAILABLE. THEY WERE EXTREMELY NEAT, COURTEOUS, RELIABLE AND CONSCIOUSNESS. THEY DID A GREAT JOB, CLEANED UP THEIR MESS, AND WORE BOOTIES UPON ENTERING THE HOUSE. I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER, AND I WILL BE CALLING THEM FOR MORE WORK WE NEED DONE.
